I smoked 2 1/2 packs a day, Marlboro, for 42 years. I just started vaping in November. I started with a 510, and then got a SB (more taste, longer battery life, and I'm less likely to overload my 510 atty with juice).

I quit smoking slowly over 3 weeks after I started vaping, and haven't had a cigarette now for over a month. I found that the more I stuck the 510 in my mouth when the urge hit, instead of a cigarette, the worse a cigarette tasted when I did smoke one.

But I've also found that when my craving for a cigarette is strong, a higher nicotine juice works better to get rid of it. So I ordered some 36mg flavored juice, and also ordered unflavored nic juice in order to add nic to my lower mg flavors.

Do a lot of reading and take your time choosing. What's another few days after years and years of smoking, right? :)

Good luck,
Debbie

I think the best advice I got was to start at the lowest nic level and see if you can sustain. After burning Marlbro light 100's for 30 years on and off, the 6-10mg got me off analogs. I figured I would adjust to the lower nic level and I have for the most part. I still get a craving for something other then this but I just fight it off. Every day is better and better. I really couldn't be happier.

Hey Helper

Listen I smoked 2 packs a day for 33 years, believe it or not 18-24mg is good for me, and I vap all day. Yes you will know if you get too much.

I just ordered my first mod from PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!

The Prodigy V2, there are certain times of the day I need more. I currently use the 510. In my opinion it's a good piece of equipment.

I don't think it matters how much you smoked you will find your comfort zone, and you'll be fine.

Take the plunge, order a kit and juice at the same time. Vap the hell out of it, and keep reading. I was off cigarettes in 2 days......unbelievable!

Haven't touched one in almost 2 months, but I have dumped some cash on this new habit.....but not too concerned.

I've been smoking 40 years and started mostly with Camels and roll-your-own Bugler and Kite (smoked menthol most of the 40, too). Then for decades it was full strength Salems... finally ditched the menthol about a year ago and went to Marlboro lights.

I have been vaping (KR808D-1) for two weeks. I do recommend that rig to others, even though it's the only one I ever tried. It works and is very convenient.
I have tried 24 and 18mg juice varieties.
IMO, neither completely replaces a real analog (much less a Camel or Lucky) but they will do for most of the day.
I would not want anything stronger than the 24, though. The hit at 24 is just short of annoying. I don't really want to try a 36+ (why are ecig strengths in increments of 8, are they hexidecimal based? :) ).
This could be a trait of the KR808 but I just think that is a strong hit, even for a non-filter smoker.

I still haven't found anything to replace the first cig of the morning. I will have an analog after lunch, dinner, and if there is much drinking involved. Still, I am down to about 4-5 analogs a day, and that's amazing to me. I do vape constantly but I am trying to shift over to the 18mg versions.

I can say that for me, vaping is a smoking supplement, not a quitting technique. The vape experience has been better than I expected and anything is possible in the future. There are so many samplers out there you can try whatever you want at first, because your taste will change after you get started.

I appreciate all of your wonderful comments and opinions folks!

This past weekend I was actually able to talk directly with Chris at My Freedom Smokes (MFS) -- absolutely, bar none, the best conversation that I was able to have concerning vaping (hardware and software). No sales pressure at all, none, nada -- just great information (Sorry Chris if your phone starts ringing because of this posting, but when yer good, yer good).

Consequently, I made my order yesterday -- now it is on to another post or two and a better life without the tar and carbon monoxide (CO).
