For coils I am going to use in TC mode, which means some form of stainless steel, I do not dry burn them. It is probably harmless, but who knows.

When I am using TC mode so far the only chipset that gets this right is a DNA mod. Kanthal, yea I dry burn it, but then I am using power mode.

Not saying that is logical, just my routine. LOL.

By flipping the coil, or better put, reversing it’s polarity, you end up rearranging the molecular structure of the metal to where it will repeal gunk through capacitive diractance oppose to attracting it. This is not a permanent solution for once the metals ions settle, they will begin attracting gunk once again. But one can employ a flipping schedule, say every other day, thus keep on top of coils gunking up and retaining that fresh vape. For dual coil atomizers, ensure you reverse the polarity for BOTH coils – failing to do so will cancel each other out which may result in an electron collision. You do not want to be colliding electrons!

I also do not condone alcohol abuse - using alcohol for anything other than a tasty cocktail is considered alcohol abuse. Be responsible with your consumption…personally I never drink before 5

This looks like intentional humor to me. I can see someone believing it though keeping in mind the idiocy that came out of the CDC stuff, so let me just say I think he’s joking.

Dr. F? Some types of older TC wire can’t be dryburned safely because of high temperature oxide formation. Ti is one.
, dr f has been around for a long time and has usually good things to say about vaping. I think alot use to really glow the heck out of their coils before he made those findings and since then , I just pulse and try not to overheat..

Yeah, I don't change out a coil until it breaks. In the meantime I burn, quench and re-wick based on a visual of the wick condition and taste. This is with twisted 28g Kanthal and Rayon.
I also use until the coil goes, but I dont quench anymore. I use to rinse, pull out old wick, dry burn and quench but I started to notice my coils turn a funny color and thought perhaps it was the water after the heat, so I stopped doing that. I now rinse, pull old wick then just slowly pulse and lastly brush off coil and the coils dont look rusty anymore. Maybe it was just that spool or something

Yup. two shots, and you won't care what it tastes like. Hell, you won't even be able to taste the juice.*

*I do not condone alcohol abuse, and would never suggest anyone actually take two shots of Everclear. I wouldn't even suggest one shot. In fact, just stay clear away from it. Far far away.
After 10 years of doing that with all sorts of coils be sure it works.

Nobody particularly bothered by Dr F's suggestion not to dry burn coils?

I was bothered at the time he issued his warning and I am very careful now--I use only short bursts of power on low wattage, Kanthal only (I'm even more careful with ss wires.) Never dry burn Ti on Ni wires. I clean the wire with an alcohol swab and rinse and dry before making a coil And I stopped torching my wire to anneal it--often recommended in old videos--even by Phil Busardo. Thank God they stopped this practice. In the early days of vaping, almost every reviewer was wielding a huge butane torch.

Besides, wire is cheap--I like a fresh coil and fresh wick.

Well, that brings back memories. Poor doctor sure kicked the hornet's nest.

The end of microcoils?
But does he vape?

I'm pretty sure I saw him vape in some video. But I may be mistaken.

There he is--at 3:19 or so--just briefly--in the background:

Still vaping! :)
