You really ate cat food?

Well...yeah. Tuna. The reason they call it "chicken of the sea" is because it has light meat and dark meat. The light meat goes to humans. The dark meat goes to animals. You just have to do a little research. Don't feel sorry for me, ok? I am a survivor.

So you really think you can both vape for $200 a year? You could if you are frugal and learn to make DIY ejuice and maybe even rba (rebuildable attys).

Yes, I think we can vape for under $200 a year. I'm an herbalist. I know I can make my own juice. I might even get good enough to sell it. I don't know yet how long our batteries can hold up, or how long a refillable cart will last before it gets nasty.

My wife sucks juice down like there's no tomorrow. We both use a Kanger T2, and mine lasts 2 days while I have to fill hers every morning. That's alright, I know everyone is different. I was a hardcore smoker, but was able to quit instantly, and maintain a level of nicotine that's less than half what I was getting with American Spirits. She hits it harder than I do, what can I say? I don't have an explanation. If we're not smoking, it's all good.

Wow, I wish you luck
I've tried guesstimating and IF I was really good and didn't make dumb purchases I'm thinking it would cost me $350 a year, at least.
>.>
But I think we should all try and think of those people on a budget and PIF whenever possible.
I've been in tight financial situations too and I can relate :(

Since you're an herbalist that would present some nice opportunities once you learn how to DIY properly. You're guaranteed to save money as long as you don't buy every flashy new thing out there, then you can learn to cut the costs even more. So far I've only gone over my normal analog expenses by a small amount, and don't plan on making any more purchases for a few weeks at least.

Quitting for 14 years sounds pretty impressive to me, I made it a little over a year twice, now working toward 3 years with vaping.

Yeah, I really did that. Back then, the gum was prescription. I quit but oh God, was it an ordeal! I was unbearable to my wife and kids for weeks. I was determined and I succeeded. Then came a divorce and a move to a different part of the country. I was involved in furniture restoration for many years. I came to California (where I'd grown up) and worked in a warehouse where everybody smokes.

All it took was one stressful day. Need I say more? Marlboro 100s, man! Some years later I discovered a natural brand from Latvia, called Cherokee. They were pretty good. Then President Bush shut down imports from Latvia. Back to Marlboros. Then I discovered American Spirit, an all-natural cigarette that is made in this country and is actually very high quality. They cost more than regular cigarettes.

Now I vape, and all is good.

From Day One I had ideas about making juice. Eventually I will have a website featuring that, plus some of my other products.

Wow. I'm amazed at the response to this thread. Thank you to a great community!

So far it hasn't saved us much money because I've accumulated a small collection of 510s and eGo units that'll cover us in case of dead batteries and such. Also I've bought a couple units for friends. Next month I plan to buy some leaf tobacco, herbs, and pharma-grade glycerin and PV. I know I can make my own juice, it was just a matter of learning how.

You guys have all been so great, I have to say I'm really touched by the response of the vaping community. I joined this forum for information. I never expected kindness. What can I say? Hopefully I can give something back.

Observation: You were fortunate to catch the friendly night owls. Beware the other meatbags, they are not so trustworthy.

Commentary: You can give something back. Posting your credit card information in this thread is a good place to start.

Just hope you realize that you can't safely distill nicotine from leaf tobacco without lab conditions, it would be very dangerous and is not recommended. It's not like brewing your own beer or distilling your own spirits.

thought you ate the cat.

OMG. Last July I rescued Poko. She is incredibly attached to me. Probably the last cat I will be associated with in this lifetime. She was in the street around 1AM. I P9120016.jpg

One of my years of quitting was with Nicorette when it was prescription. After 3 months, I couldn't afford it and ran out of doctors to prescribe it. How sad is that? I actually made runs to Mexico to buy it over the counter when I visited Phoenix. After about 6 months I was down to 1/2 piece a day of 2mg and quit. I can't remember why I started up again, I think I just drove by a convenience store (they'd call out to me) and thought I'd just smoke a few for old times sake.... a few days later back to a pack a day.

My gums and old fillings took a huge beating from chomping Nicorette gum.

Edit: You have to buy your nicotine, mix it with PG/VG and non oil based flavoring and you have ejuice. Simple to do, but no so simple to do well.

holy crap lol That sounds like a lot of work, I admire your dedication there. I didn't have to get a prescription for mine.
Then again I hated it and stopped using it but still..

I'm just glad I don't really like gum so the Nicorette had no appeal for me. I tried the patches, and they worked for a short while. At least, until I ran out of square inches on my body to place more.

I had the best success with quitting cold turkey which I did for spans of time here and there, and e-cigs.

If you haven't seen it, I think you'd appreciate Phil Hartman in this NewsRadio episode.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=53I6CowJaM8 (fixed, had wrong one, about 1:20-4:00)

Patch never worked for me, I need the chomping action.
