Olive oil?

hey. Another question.
I have had to use a combination of olive oil, the freezer and ejuice to release my locking ring which had seized up. It wasn't over tightening so I think they just need bit of help.
Is olive oil ok to use on threads?

It's ok in that it's nontoxic, but I'm not sure if it's the best lubricant for your locking ring.

Olive oil will attract a lot more gunk and make the threads even more prone to seizing. You should use something like Noalox.

Yeah fair enough but I've got nothing else to hand apart from oil and a freezer. Will invest in a good lubricant. What is best for switch threading and locking rings, noalox? Or something.

Ah cool. So my gentle olive oil will be ok for a little while.
I hope your right instead of retired and this oily smirk isn't rubbed off my face when these threads seize for good.

If you have a electric shaver it should come with a small bottle of oil, it will work also. Just but a light coat on with a q-tip.

Ok thank you. Ill read up on it. Got a couple different mods. 2 are stainless but one is gold plated. No ox the same for that? Everything bar aluminium?

On that thread, they recommend Permatex Dielectric Grease and possibly Permatex tune-up grease. First priority should be a having a used toothbrush on hand and making sure everything is and stays really clean. Or so I understand.
