I live in BFE East Texas and was dragged to a Vape Shop in Austin by my daughter and told to buy an ego/clearomizer set. I had tried a gas station e-cig about a year and a half ago,no throat hit, gave it up and went back to smoking. It was my daughter pushing this, so I went for it.

The kit was expensive, as it came from a B&M but there was lots of personal attention, lots of flavor trying, lots of good advice. So all in all, I think the price I paid was a steal. I have to rely on online suppliers for all of my supplies. I really hate this, if I am going to buy something I want to hold it, ask questions. Buying blind leads to wasting money on junk, and boy have I bought some junk since I started vaping.

Back home, with only 3 vision CE4 clearomizers, I knew they wouldn't last. I will say that I am a heavy vapor and take several draws off of my PV during a vaping session (like I smoked). I have tried all sorts of clearomizers that looked like upgrades to what I had. My first purchase was Kanger T3's (yep, the originals). The suck factor was overwhelming for a new vapor like me. God awful dry, or flooding, that is what my opinion of the T3. Kanger Pro Tank - a little better, still a little dry, and I have found I have to store the thing on it's mouthpiece or it is just floods. Vivi Nova, a little dry but better than the others. I thought I was going to just stick with the CE4's as they were the best of what I had.

Needless to say I have read extensively and watched lots of reviews and videos to fix my crappy clearomizers (curse you PBusardo and your clearomizer shootout video. Hahahaha!) I have gotten to rebuilding my own wick and coils for the clearomizers, to some success. I kept seeing Grimm and Phil brag about cartomizers and carto tanks.

I dug out the old Crown Seven e-cig I had bought years back, pulled out a still packaged carto and gave it a try. Yep it still had no throat hit, good enough flavor and vapor. When it started drying out I refilled it using the condom method with one of my current juices. The wow moment, it was perfect, best flavor I had experienced to this point, and good throat hit. It did't last very long but I started putting 2 and 2 together and bought an AGR carto tank.

The difference in the carto tank to the clearomizers is almost as drastic as the difference between the good old Crown Seven and my eGo/CE4s.

I would recommend to anyone using clearomizers only to buy one blank cartomizer and give it a shot, they are about $1.50 so you aren't really out much.

note: I haven't had a cigarette since I walked into the vape shop in Austin. 6 weeks :)

I've tried most o' da latest and greatest joose devices, pretty much covering da alphabet. I've yet to fall in luv with any clearo! I hate dry hits of any nature!

So after all my 'investments' in joose devices, which one do I use? Just a common, uncelebrated, non-fashionable and satisfying carto tank combo! Ne'er a dry hit and with consistent vaping.

As for da carto/tank naysayers complaining of leaking and filler 'taste', they're doin' sumpin' wrong; or just vaping 'elitest' lookin' fer a justification to spend more vaping money!

Did I mentioned I hate dry hits!!!

I'm the opposite. Once I discovered how clean clearo's tasted compared to the filler-based cartos, there was no turning back. Got a bunch of new ones still sitting boxes I doubt I'll ever use.

Same here. Plus the fact you can clean and rebuild them. Right now I'm rocking two BCCs with mesh.

I'm keeping my butters tank just incase I get a 705 or holy diver.

I sold all my cartos on the classies.

I am still on my first cartomizer (well, technically my second, I shorted the first one punching it). I watched PBusardos video and read up on it: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/blogs/baditude/3710-5-cartomizer-tank-setup.html

I can see that there can be some miss steps along the way, but I know I have one rock solid setup while I am fiddling around with my other devices. :)

Buying one this weekend!

LOL

The thing I love about dripping is the flavor, vapor, and changing flavors quickly. The thing I dislike is when it's inconvenient and I don't want to carry six flavors in my pocket ... dripping while driving is equivalent to texting whilst driving for me however, it's almost a ritual at home.

I agree that a "good" clearomizer is awesome. But I am finding that to get a good clearomizer you have to buy one and rewick and recoil it.

I am still using rebuilt CE4's for work, but home is all about my carto tank these days.

Just for the record I have yet to recoil and rewick my protank or vivi nova. I am waiting till they need it, I'm a cheap ....... that way.

To much information alert! (Especially since you didn't ask for it) But I'm so proud of my graphics

These are two most popular attys for when new vapers give dripping a try. They are easy to use and inexpensive:

A 510 atty looks like this and takes a 510 drip tip:

A 306 Atomizer has 510 connection threading, but the body is slimmer than a 510 atomizer and needs a different size drip tip. A 306 has the same components as a 510, but doesn't have a jacket (tube) going up the outside so you see the bridge and the wick.

306atty.jpg

The atty is called a “306” because it was originally part of Joye’s 306 cig-a-like design. 306 kits are still sold today.

The 306 drip tip fits on the outside of the body, like the “Cannon” from Cherry Vape. When using a 306 drip tip do not force it down onto the atty! The tip isn’t designed to go all the way down and if forced can be damaged causing it to leak – I know, I broke two of them

cannontip.jpg

I also have a dripping blog for more unsolicited tips: Drip, Drip, Drip…

Now back to our regularly scheduled program currently in progress...

I'm not letting you go so quickly!

I am thinking about getting a regular 510 Atomizer. Since I'm not going to put a cartridge on it I won't need the bridge, correct?

Second question, should I get a sealed 510 to 510 adapter to use with it, or is the bridgeless sealed already?

You guys are awesome by the way!

I use both the bridge helps from flooding so easy. This is vapor from a SR bridged atty at on a mech mod with a fresh battery. You might also give a 1.5ohm dual coil atty a try I enjoy them also. Dripping is great but a good tank system weather it be carto or clearo what ever your preference. Is a great thing to have in your vape arsenalIMG_1051.jpg BTW a 306 atty in a DCA is also hard to beat.

You don't have to do anything special with a bridgeless. It's the same as the regular kind, only the steel mesh bridge (and sometimes the wick) is remove, leaving only the coil and the reservoir cup. Sometimes there is a metal plate with holes across the top, but I've never used that kind.

Bridgeless 510 (still has a wick)

The method of dripping with a bridgeless atty is basically the same as a regular atty, but you have to be fast. You are dripping directly onto the coil - think of dripping water onto the coil of an electric stove. Instant sizzle. The pros with using a bridgeless atty is more intense flavor and it can be easier to clean; the cons are there is no mesh to hold the liquid, so you have to drip more often and (in my experience YMMV) it’s easier to get a dry hit.

These are solely my opinions, please don't flame me.
