Dragonbone, I loooove it! I love the variable voltage, its so cool to be able to adjust up and down according to my moods, flavors, etc. I have been using 510 clearomizers from totally Wicked and man, I just cannot say anything bad about this thing!!
YAY! I'm so happy for you :vapor:!

Look i think the provari is a great mod, ok it looks ugly (to me) but i know tons of people that swear by it. As for the darwin i HATE it but not that i think its bad mind you. My gripe is the company, you have a $250 mod (high ticket for sure) you have a loyal fan base but you cant manage to keep it in stock? thats absurd. I know they are working on their kick right now but how long before that gets laid to the side as well. The darwin is not the only mod thats like that either. When i first started getting mod itch i really wanted the helix but they never have it in stock either.

Anyway back on track. this is in no way a gripe just a funny thought that came tomind about the provari. as i said i know people who have and love them. These people all pretty much say the same thing. the provari is built to last its made outta SS etc etc but yet most wont take it out of the house? LOL if its such a work horse then would it not stand up better in the field than a cheaper mod.

LOL sorry dont mean to ruffle feathers just thought it was funny

Jerry, I don't know why either. Although, i have to say, i really think the Provari is a beauty! Maybe some people are in a rougher environment with their PV or afraid to get it lost or stolen? or they think its too big and imposing? Personally I dont care if my PV looks big or weird or whatever to other people, if i love it, I'll vape it!

Heyas folks,

I didn't take your post the wrong way Jerry B. It is kinda ironic. But, having both a provari and an lt, the lt is the one that leaves the house with me. I have little doubt the provari could withstand MUCH more abuse than the lt (just my opinion. Not like I have test data or anything to back that up.) and keep functioning. But for me it's kinda like if I owned a rolls royce and a kia. The kia will run for a good long time and is a quality auto, but I'm not gonna go pick up groceries in the rolls :p

Just my :2c:

Hehehe I get ya Max. I just did not want to come off harsh it was all tongue in cheek. In fact i do plan on a provari down the road. I look at it like this and keep in mind this is purely my personal take on it. I plan on having a number of mods down the road. My wife has already made comments to the point. I am a collector you see (dvds, bluray, ps3, xbox, etc) that addiction is as bad as analogs ever got lol

But my view was just getting into vaping i wanted to find a "good enough" point then go from there. I could get two or three mods for the price of a provari. Right now all i have is a eGo which with a LR atty managed to get me off analogs for good. "Good Enough" there ya go right outta the gate i am happy. I wanted the Lavatube (and now waiting on mr mailman to bring to me) to play with VV. After playing around with it i may, just may decide that i am happy at 3.7. A lot of people are happy with 3.7. I have become a regular on Exilir TV (Elixir Liquid & TV - www.Elixirliquid.com and we were talking about VV last night.

It was stated when we were analog smokers there was no such thing as VV. you lite up and puffed away. While i will never again go back to analogs i did enjoy that ease of use. Some people like that in the PV world. You pick up your PV and vape, easy right. Now one thing i can tell you with out a doubt i am not a tech savoy kinda guy. You turn it on, it works, i dont know i dont care the hows and why just that it works. When i first came here i almost turned tail and ran. Not because i was not interested in vaping but everyone was talking ohms and watts and volts OH MY!

So outta my league. So a 3.7 device could be the way i go. A provari (read as any high ticket VV mod) are great IF you know what you want, i dont. With the Lavatube i can jump in, get my feet wet and go from there. If i enjoy VV yes a provari will be in the future, as will a number of other super lux mods. But ya gotta start somewhere right. I mean i could show you a list of mods i was looking at, its a nice hefty list. I started weeding it down as i learned more about some of them. I also tend to go for stuff that appeals to my eye. I still want a helix because of the battery. vaping for a week without a recharge is awesome. I am a long time SCAer and do lots of camping. Being able to take a mod i did not need to worry about batteries for me is important in that case.

If your looking for durability then you need a purely mechanical mod like the prodigy 3.1 from puresmoker.com No wires to worry about so with a little cleaning it should last a lifetime. Thats on my list as well.

Right now i have 3 eGo batteries and when it arrives the Lavatube. Next i am looking at the Chuck. and maybe a nightstick. the nightstick holds 2 18659s now thats power lol. In the end i understand product loyalty i do but lets face it folks a mod is nothing more nothing less that a battery case. The real importance is the carto/atty you use and the juice you buy. Steeljan made this super crap mod out of a plastic tube. Dont misread that peeps i am not saying that steeljan did a bad job, i am saying she built a mod out of basically junk laying around the house (stelljan is amazing). it just goes to show you that if you know those tech things you can mod with anything. I have also seen people buying those project boxes from radioshack and making mods, they in turn sell for $130! what is that i ask. If you look hard enoug you can find anything at any price you want.

WOW i got a big mouth...er fingers, so i will shut up now and say this in closing. Friends it does not matter what you vape on, if your happy and it gets you where your going. Enjoy it live life and be thankful you are done with the analogs :)

Heyas Jerry B,

Enjoyed reading your post. I'm pretty much right there with ya on most things. Some difference in the details, but, meh :p

Basically, I just like talking about vaping :p

Aside from my first couple purchases which were crap bought from gas stations/walgreens type stuff, I really haven't come across any hardware that I dislike. Then again, even before those first purchases, I had found and was addicted to the ecf, so have been reading and following advice from here all along :p

The crap purchases were just to give me something to do while waiting for my first kit to arrive. A joye ego. Got that kit, loved it, and haven't looked back. It took me about 5 or 6 weeks to get all the way off analogs, but it was the most painless and effortless quit imaginable. I just stopped smoking because the thought of that godsawful nasty taste in my mouth for hours outweighed the smoking-immediate-nic-rush craving.

I still use my ego batts every day. They take lots of abuse, and I love them :)

Vaping has become my newest hobby and obsession. I love researching, shopping, comparing, modding, diy, all of it. And love talking about it.

I hope you didn't think I was talking trash about the lava tube. I love mine. I plan to enjoy it for a long time. I was just kinda describing my lavatubes place in my vapingverse (yes, vapinverse IS a word).

:D

Oh and Heyas Dotma :)

Woot on your lt! Glad you're enjoying it. Didn't mean to highjack your thread. My mouth just started running away with my fingers, or something like that... :p

No offense taken Max. the great thing about the ECF is there are tons of people here that are all making that journey together. Dont make a difference which mod you got as long as your moving forward. I will admit that i dont even consider those gas station jobbers even PVs. they out right suck and thats hardly a personal opinion lol

I am looking forward to my Lavatube so i can explore even more into what i like. One thing i thought was kinda odd, but most reviews the reveiwer seemed kinda shocked that it lowered the voltage on LR attys. that was one of the first things i learn and like about the LT. I mean from time to time, be it short on money or a slip of a brain cell i forget to order supplies. With the LT it does not shut down if i put the wrong atty on. Ok it may suck having to vape at a lower voltage than you want but it beats not vaping at all.

Now what i need is to find a killer leather holster to carry it around on my belt with. I have no fear of looking goofy walking around in public with it. i look goofy anyway lol

Wow. I haven't even talked to anyone about sca for over 20 years. How cool is this?

On a side note, I'm a life long computer geek and rpger (although rpg is mostly limited to wow these days). Yes, that's off topic, but sca/rpg/computer geek just all resonate to me :p

Sorry again about the highjack, Dotma
