I went a little nutz at FT today. I only intended on getting 3 VTC mini twos. And then I got lost in kayfun parts so I got 10 more bases + a whole bunch of bellcaps, tanks, chimneys, o-rings, and on and on.

So now I'm up to 4 picos, 3 vtc minis, 2 cloupors, 6 unused mechs, and literally 20 Kayfuns with mix and match parts to make franken-kayfuns of all shapes and sizes for years. I'm really starting to feel a little insane. And I'm only half kidding...lol

I got it to work with google sheets, and it looks like I'm good on the nic supply, but may need to find some worthy heirs to leave the extra to. Thank you for sharing this.
You wouldn't believe how worthy I am. Really. I'm so worthy. And cats are my favorite animal.

Going by your stated experience level and level of interest, I would go as far as saying, that SMPL mod is not the mod for you. Really, be careful, there is serious potential for injury if you don't know what you are doing with that mod.

:thumb:+++1000 Put the smpl on the bottom of the prepping box until and if you learn ALL about that mod.

Every time I look at Kayfun parts I find another sale where I can get the whole Kayfun cheaper than parts. I've got a pretty good inventory on them now so in a few years I will figure out whether I was crazy or a genius. A recent poll of family members does not give much hope for it being genius though.

I like mixing the parts and making different sizes and styles depending on what I'm doing. Bellcaps are great for light/durable/stealthy. These are really cool:

$1.50 Replacement PC Bell Cap Set for Kayfun Lite Five Pawns - w/ 510 drip tip at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

You can snug the chimney to the cap and refill it protank style. For a buck fifty and $4 base you have a great atty for less than 6 bucks.

I like these top caps a lot more than the stock ones:

$2.36 Replacement Top Cap for Orchid V3 Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - stainless steel at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

I actually like the 5 pawns top caps the best but they have a stupid proprietary size so a regular 510 is just a little too wide. I've shaved some derlin drip tips down a touch so they fit. But it's still dumb that they aren't a standard 510.

I use a short chimney paired with the 27mm acrylic tanks on a Lite V2 base for a decent capacity but lightweight setup.

I agree that complete sets can be damn cheap though. I just like digging into my parts kit and making something interesting...lol. It's a weird quirk.

OK, calling @Baditude , you must understand that the SMPL is an advanced mechanical device, and should not use it until you fully understand how it works and what the possible dangers are. You MUST use an atomizer where the center pin sticks out al least a millimeter or so. Do not use an atomizer that takes factory coils on that mod. The center pin must be proud and it must be solid, not just held in place with a rubber grommet like all factory coils use.
Failure to use a correct atomizer could possibly lead to a hard short and a venting battery.

I've been using mechs for over 3 years now and there's no way I'd even consider purchasing a SMPL mod, or any like it.

So, up until the Deeming Regs came out, I'd been pretty much tootlepuffing away, picking up my coils and juice once a month and going about my business. But, now I am in the process of stocking up. The thing is, I don't know what I am doing. I bought my first mechanical mod (an EHPro SMPL), along with a Kayfun Lite Plus. I've never used a mech mod or rebuilt before. How many do you think I should buy?

Also: Is there any point at all to stockpiling standard tanks and coils? I have a bunch of PBC's and TDux tanks and a year's worth of TDux coils. Should I put these in the stockpile, or just use them in my daily rig as I stockpile mechanical and rebuildable stuff? Do these standard coils lose their ability to wick and fire after awhile? I'm a guy who has never rebuilt or gotten into subohm vaping. If the FDA hadn't stepped in, I'd never consider it. I need a stockpiling for dummies guide.
Much like me, I got into building and Mech's for the same reason.

That said I don't recommend any mod with a hybrid deck for a first mech. Best recommendation is to get a parallel mod with a Mosfet switch. Then get a parallel mech after you have learned how to build for them.

Building really is easy and fun, I also love mechs. But you must know the rules and follow them. With Mech's YOU are responsible for your safety.

Yikes. Okay, I am glad it was cheap, but wish I would have asked here first. So, honestly, what would you recommend in that price range? All of my experience is with ITaste and similar. Would buy 50 of those if I could afford to, but I was reading that mechanical was the way to go for stockpiling.

Cool, anything with a 510 center pin, like a Caravela clone, or a Nemesis. Maybe some folks will come along and link you some better options. I went a different route in my vape journey. Good luck. :)

Me either, hence the words of caution. I wish hybrids stayed just that, hybrids , with non compatible threading.

Thank you so much for being so willing to help me out. I was sooooo worried about finding a new person to take care of my herd of cats, and I'm sure I could count on a fellow vapin' cat lover such as yourself to step up to the task.

You must have a rather large ranch if you have 5300 cats :shock::toast::lol:
