I have no problem at all with old tech. If it works, it's good enough for me! Never really had shinyitis when it comes to vaping. If available, I will probably try some newer things, once they have been tested and tried by everyone else, of course. ;) But I will be perfectly happy vaping from my stockpile long term.
But stockpiling is shinyitus. At least 75% shinyitus.

Yeah a lot of my stockpile is older stuff thanks to clearance sales. Like some tube mods for $5,some RDA'S and RTA's for under $5 (few for $2). I'd be buying some wire, see something for just a couple bucks and add it. Thing is these older devices vape extremely well. I lost count of what I have, I'm almost the point of having enough stockpiled to open a B&M........ lol.......

If there is no injunction issued, per the deeming order technically there are no new products sold after 8/8/16. Ya, I know there is the underground and there is China direct but not everyone is interested in relying those routes in the future.

I've vaped long enough to know exactly what makes me vaping happy and I don't need "new" post 8/8/16 technology to do that even though if available I would try something once in a while, but not often even if things stayed the same as now in the vaping world. On the other hand, my grandson has only vaped for 13 months. He still really enjoys trying new stuff so choosing stuff for his future stash is a bit more complicated then mine. He has more variety in his stash, I have more multiples of the same thing.

Yep. I'm a mech girl at heart. But I did develop a bad case of shinyitis in the mech and rebuildable atomizer realm, which the way things stand now turned out to be a blessing. And I like my Provaris for a little variety and for traveling. Never was interested in the VW/TC craze because what I had just plain worked and worked extremely well at that. I did buy 1 VW/TC box just because I liked the look of it and just because so many people here kept on and on and on about the boxes. My happy spot on it was 17 watts, about what I run with a mech. At least I liked the looks of it so I'll use it when I'm in a rare mood and therefore it wasn't a total waste of money. But I'm not the least bit interested in the watt boxes.

I kinda did too but it is mostly replaceable battery devices because I know that my fixed battery devices will someday reach the end of their batteries lifetime. I have a pico and a clouper mini+ but only because I won them in contests. I won one subox mini kit in a contest (it was a pay it forward contest but the person I gave it to gave it back to me :( ) and have to admit that I just bought one because I like the kbox mini that comes in the kit. Don't know if I will ever use the topper that come with them though. I found the old school toppers that works for me and stopped the hunt once I found them. I have several rebuildable toppers but they will be a very last resort for me.

I am not saying that chasing the latest and greatest is a bad thing. In fact we wouldn't have all the choices we have today if not for those that kept working to get new, and in a lot of cases better, products out there for us and folks buying them and giving feedback as to what could be improved. gotta love all the folks that have made the vaping devices we have today and if left alone I can imagine how far we could go but if new products stopped being designed today I think there would still be something out there that would work and work well for everyone. JMHO
I do not think progress in vaping hardware will disappear. US is not the only market for e-cigs, and Chinese will continue development. And I still hope that there will be no prohibition in US, just higher taxation and, may be, prohibition of online sales (hope Chinese will continue to sell to US anyway).
As for progress, I am pretty conservative. But I change my equipment when I see I can get something better in performance/convenience. Like replacing Vamo with box mods. iClear 16 with clearos with protank coils (rebuildable). When convenient RTA appeared (Kayfun 4 and Taifun GT2) I bought them. Still trying other tanks (Serpent Mini, Melo, Kayfun mini 3) but so far did not really like them. I just have to buy to see if I am missing something that I can use. Checking if I like TC (still undecided). And I believe I must to buy Kayfun 5 (clone, of course), but I am waiting on more reviews from users.
After writing all of this I am feeling a bit ashamed. I have said many times my hobby is a cheap vaping, but I am keeping buying...

You see, if it all happened 2 years ago, I would stockpile on Vamos. Today I would stockpile on Picos (even if I do not need 75W and TC). The same price ($25), but much better mod. And I stockpiled, I have 2 Picos (and eVic VTwo Mini). So, definite progress even for old style vaping.

If it all happened 2 years ago ... I would only stockpile ProVaris and Kayfuns.

Fast forward 2 years ... I would still be stocking the exact same ProVaris and Kayfuns.

Once you find safe and reliable that fits exactly to your needs ... stockpile it.

I've actually enjoyed reading about people now stockpiling the way I did 2 years ago.

You know, sometimes I feel like I'm in a bad dream. ...

I hear you.

But at Least when you have a Bad Dream, at some point you Wake Up. And you might feel kinda Shaky for a little while, but it passes.

I Can't Seem to Wake Up from This One.

It just keeps Going On and On and On.

Nor do I but no need to feel ashamed. If not for folks buying and testing new products we wouldn't have all the choices we have today. So.....Thank you for being one of our guinea pigs :D JK of course about the guinea pig. I'm not sure it is an accurate designation for an Alien

And gets more horrible as time passes. I was worried about the states, but they are worse than I imagined! NM is talking a 43% tax on vape, if that passes we are done here too.

Isn't that where Molehill is? Or am I wrong? Maybe I need to go on and get that last one I wanted.....

Old school gear for me is better than no gear at all :) .
Yeah a lot of my stockpile is older stuff thanks to clearance sales.
 Yup, have a ton of "old school gear" that I'm still using because it works.
Can you say Ego's and Protanks :p

I'm a mech girl at heart. But I did develop a bad case of shinyitis in the mech and rebuildable atomizer realm, which the way things stand now turned out to be a blessing..But I'm not the least bit interested in the watt boxes.
This is where I've been for a while too.
I have all the old stuff I still love to use, and then there's also the collection of mech's, and rda bottom feeders. ..
I use a combination of everything from Ego's, ProVari's, Vamo's, to the "latest', and I'm happy with it all.

I have said many times my hobby is a cheap vaping, but I am keeping buying...
But, but , it's so much fun
And .. no matter how you look at it, I'm still way ahead.

.Once you find safe and reliable that fits exactly to your needs ... stockpile it.
 yep I have a four year old stockpile, ... and now I have a "modern" stockpile
Two birds of a different color, .. so to speak

I only liked this one to say "Thank you" for posting the proof of "greed"

I find it embarrassing and disgusting that such a small percentage of the funds went towards prevention. Less than 500M out of 130B. What a joke.
