No matter how you feel about what is to come there is no denying this fact.

It's Not a fact so I'm certainly going to deny it.

A lot is going to depend on the state you live in and how Nanny state it is.

I would bet money that my vape expenses here in Florida do not escalate appreciably in
at least the next 2 years. So far, my state is Completely Unconcerned with vaping At All.

My biggest concern here would be a National Nic tax but Nic is used for other things like farming insecticide that won't work with a tobacco style tax structure.

Unfortunately this applies to a Fast moving, new product market. In a Stalled Market it is unlikely prices will drastically fall due to no availability of a Newer Higher profit product.
Even Used product sales will slow due to minimal gain in re-purchasing.............with exception of Damaged/failed product.

Sadly, there may be a short term Surge of purchases of Over Priced NEW product, before the Start date for no New Products.:(
Not sure what you are saying. Are you predicting that prices will rise soon ( after Aug 8 ) ?

On the whole stockpiling thing, people need to do what they feel comfortable with and can afford to do.
A lot of us are of a mind to stock up now based on current Federal regulation and various State laws on tobacco products while others feel a lot more optimistic about it all and are choosing not to stock up, neither needs to defend their view on this.
This.

Reasonable people can analyze the same situation and reach different conclusions. Doesn't man one group are alarmists, and the other have their head in the sand.

I was actually all over your state the week after the deeming and went to many vape shops, cause its what I do.

Whenever possible I spoke to the owners about the deeming and all were very friendly. Stores that just had a kid running the counter I didn't speak much.

From Jacksonville over to Tampa and up through Ocala the owners of every vape shop are VERY concerned about the future of Florida vaping.

BULL.

No Way is some maybe gonna happen U.S.A. FDA ruling going to stop the rest of the world's top vape manufacturers from pumping out new stuff.

Thankfully most of the makers are Chinese and they couldn't give a flying damn about the FDA.

I would, if I had money to bet, bet that there MAY be only one change to the current situation until at
least the end of this year. That being that U.S. based vendors will probably ask for a scanned copy of your ID or some other form or age verification. And, I don't have a bit of any problem with that.

I too believe that China that will be a saviour during these times with stiff regulations in the US, however, having said that, China is not really an innovator of products. They are a reproducer mostly of American innovation. It is the drive to make profits from reproducing expensive original and innovative American products into cheaper ones through their comparative advantage in labor supply and cheap wages that drives their market.

If the American vaping market dries up and is forced into a debilitating approval process then China will definitely have continued sales and development of products but the innovation of products will probably slow down.

Not to mention, there are x-ray scanners in use at major ports that scan entire shipping containers. If the manifest doesn't match up with what they see on the x-ray, the entire container is pulled aside and gone through.

Lol...

In Australia whole Shipments of illegal and tax free cigarettes enter our waters and make their way into the bottom counters of convenience stores and Australia, being an island and with a fragile and delicate ecosystem has one of the most potent and vigilante customs and quarantines systems in the world.

There is corruption at all levels including the highest levels and I expect that will also be the case in the US where there will be billions (not millions) of black and grey market dollars to be made. (After all, you guys are so much more corrupt than Aussies :p)

Similarly, Western Australia was the first state to make selling vape gear illegal but in enforcing the legislation they only shut down one online vape store.

The FDAs deeming regs and the results on the vape industry in the USA probably won't all pan out as black and white as most people think. There will be angles not anticipated, channels of distribution not presently known, areas in the law that will be exploited to fight the FDAs ruling.

This is all new and unprecedented legal and commercial territory for the U.S. and it is difficult
to predict how it will all unfold.

So long as the government is getting maximum tax revenue for its buck it won't care if the avid veterans and sophisticated vapers like us sneak in packages from China. No way will they commit millions of dollars of resources to sniff out a package of vape gear and nicotine worth $150 unless it is commercially viable to do so.

This is still a doom and gloom scenario but it won't be so cut and dried.

Finally, the FDA is going to have a massive fight on its hands. It doesn't seem to know that Americans have an incredible revolutionary spirit in their blood.

Will we be able to continue discussing vaping openly, as on these forums? Or will we be driven underground? And by discussion, that would include not only, for example, how to build coils, but also where we can get things once we can no longer get them in the US (if it comes to that), how to repair or substitute, etc.

No, not on currently available product. However so far, watching the Release trend over the past several weeks, many New China Device retail pricing in on the Rise. Not a huge jump by any means, but Dollars higher than previous trends almost across the board.
$84 is the new $79

My question is not where Svoe Mesto is located, but are they willing to take on the Expense of submitting a PMTA and what are the chances of the PMTA Ever being Approved?

This with all current products as well as things stand right now.

I think that Svoemesto and the Chinese manufacturers will just be satisfied with other markets if the USA market closes off for them.

China itself is the largest market for vaping products in the world.

hmmm ... i haven't noticed that, if anything the opposite. The new Nautilus X and Protank 4 evolved are available for under $ 25 in many stores. I have seen the PT4 ( with the RBA deck ) for $21 in one online store. A lot cheaper than when the Subtank was introduced.

Perhaps one or both of us are suffering from confirmation bias :)

i have a very 'progressive' family doctor,, he would easily write me a script for nicotine if it would allow me to buy nic.. question is,, would he be able too? a doctor wrote a script once for my pops for Nike shoes during his rehab,,,,,,he hates all tennis shoes as he is a real cowboy,,,,,,so all of the males were wearing new nikes :)
