2016 Stock Pile update completed
Thanks to the FDA

I've been stock piling since the first week I started vaping almost 6 years ago. Way back then it was a matter of making sure I would not return to smoking if the 2009 lawsuit didn't go our way. When the FDA lost the lawsuit back in 2011 the question in my mind has always been "when" they would issue a deeming order for ecigs never "if they would". My stash has always been my insurance against government interference in my right to vape. Its also made it possible to spend very little these past few years since retirement. Sure, some things will never get used, but I have no regrets for anything I've purchased along the way. Peace of mind was worth every penny.
Today my stash isn't just for my next 25 years but for my 18 yr old grandson who started smoking at 16

but was willing to switch to vaping instead of smoking. He's the reason I've greatly added to my stash these past few weeks. His future concerns me a lot. The only plus in all of this is he's learning a lot about our government

and the importance of advocacy and fighting for something you believe strongly in.
I expect there to be an injunction issued before 8/8/16 putting the deeming order on hold while the court decides it's legality. If that happens then its business as usual until the court makes its final ruling which won't happen quickly. There will still be states laws to be fought against while we wait for the outcome of the lawsuits.
IF an injunction isn't granted it won't be business as usual for two more years. Most things won't change overnight, but there would be changes BEYOND what's in the deeming order. In most states shops will need tobacco licenses- not a big deal in some places but for other places not so easy to get. Vendors will need import licenses to import from China into the US- not hard to get, EXCEPT licenses aren't issued quickly so there could be months for some vendors with no new products coming into their stores from China while they wait for their import licenses. States that already having laws against internet sales/shipments of cigarettes will amend their laws to include all the newly deemed tobacco products. The fed government will want to amend the P.A.C.T. act to include the newly deemed tobacco products so they can't be shipped via USPS or UPS. And I think we can reasonably expect some confussion over both the P.A.C.T. act and the states laws almost immediately as there will be some zealots that will jump to the conclusion on 8/8/16 that those law immediately go into effect once our ecigs are deemed tobacco products. I would expect every state as they put together new budgets for the following year to be adding ecigs to their list of taxed items and those taxes will in most cases be very high.
