yeah,, i dont use a mech mod yet,, (i do have 2 'Oni's' them seem very stout/well made.......that said,, after i got them i read about a product called a 'kick',,,,,,,,so my waiting basket has some kicks in it as well as other misc items.

I have heard of a kick, at least. That's about all of my mech mod knowledge so far. I decided I will probably think about getting some of them, to use with mech mods I haven't bought yet, but that will have to wait a bit.

Hahahaha...bro, you def have more wire and gear than me :D, but I'm catching up. Maybe by December we can have a "pose off" with all of our gear! :pervy:
Yeah I've added to this, few more Mech's, few more RDA'S/RTA's and a couple thousand feet of wire. Been trolling and been really finding good deals, especially mechs. They're the ones that will survive looooooooong after chip's crap out on the regulated Mod's. I'm stocking up on wire also since I've got a gut feeling that quality wire for vaping will either be difficult to find or jump in price. I very well could be wrong, if not no big deal with but if I'm right...
Cheap insurance is how I see it.

I like spinning wire and making coils, it's relaxing and no one is going to take it away from me, especially government puppets.

The Argon gas acts as a barrier to oxygen. Oxygen, sunlight and heat kills nicotine.

Click the image in my signature and it takes you to Nude Nicotine. I only buy Armor v2, 500ml, 100mg/ml but if you follow suit, you are going to have to know how to handle it and knock it down to whatever you vape at...and that is not hard to do. Read the DIY section, and search ECF for Nicotine.

Thanks Tommy-Chi! I've had a great tutorial on DIY liquids from an ECF member, so I am inching my way to understanding about how to knock the nic down to my level. I feel like I know enough now, from reading through this awesome thread and talking with you vets, to know what I should buy at least and how to bottle & freeze it safely. After I get that accomplished, I can work more on figuring out how to use it safely to make my own juice.

Crazy stockpile week for me.

Added 1000ft of assorted wire ($35), 1.5l of 100mg NIC ($100-ish), a authentic Kayfun Lite Plus ($55), 5 clone Kayfun Lite Plus ($5x5=$25) and a Triton Mini for my wife ($25).

I think 18 mods (including a dozen Provaris), 3.5l of NIC, 1400-1500ft of wire, 500ft of rayon and a bunch of cotton, a dozen drippers, a couple dozen tanks (RTAs, Kayfuns, Kabukis, Crowns, Subtanks, etc.), about 100 Nautilus coils and tons of replacement glasses/insulators/o-rings/drip tips/RBAs should hold me over.

The best part? Even if all of the Craziness around deeming, regulation and taxation go away completely tomorrow... I really didn't waste any money. I will use literally everything I have stockpiled. Well.... Maybe not all of the wire and rayon. ;)

Dude ... the real deals will be gear, sold by folks that can't find eJuice ... some will quit Vaping, some will go Cigalike ... and some will smoke.

There will be more mods than juice ... even with no new gear coming out.

This is what I think too. After I get two more liters of nic at the beginning of July, I'll probably pick up another two at the beginning of August. Hopefully they'll have it in stock by August. Barter system.

Very likely. Although in our neck of the woods, that means predominantly a crap-ton of iSticks and Kanger KBoxes on CL and Kijiji. ;)

Question does a kick make a mech mod regulated and protected or just regulated? I was looking at mech's and many are $10, geez so cheap!
Kind of sorta, just regulates the voltage to a degree. Don't believe it will do anything about a hard short. Plus I believe that their max wattage is like 18 maybe 20 watts.

Ok good to know. I was looking for a chip that makes a mech protected, maybe that doesn't exist unless buying one already made. I just thought it would be handy to get a bunch of chips that pop in like a kick.

Nope, maximum watts is 15. Yes it will detect hard short but not Temperature or battery Charge level. That is for V2, V1 max wattage is 10.

IMO isn't worth the money or hassle, unless you only vape under 15 watts

I only vape under 15 watts (I think 8.5 is the highest I've gone), and I had thought buying some Kicks, but I've read in several places the quality control on them is pretty lacking. Not sure I'll bother.

eta: I'm referring to the Smok Tech version here
Exactly, just take a little bit of time and build right. Electronics fail, that's what they do. Beauty and elegance of Mechs are their simplicity. Not to mention reliability, just treat them with respect and they won't let you down ;)

I like the way the FT Corolla's Clones Hit that I got from FT. A Nice Low Wattage Flavor RTA IMO.

But Yeah... The Quality on them has a Lot of Room for Improvement.
Probably going to just write mine off as Box spares.
Looking at these instead:
$8.07 TD Styled RTA Rebuildable Tank Atomizer - 3ml / 304 stainless steel + glass / 22mm dia. at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping

Can be built Dual or with a little work, single coil. Better air flow adjustment also. Bonus, the Top deck is NOT positively charged. :thumb:

Ah ok that is what I wondering, looks like it will do what I want for a mech mod. I want to get a couple for dark ages but wanted some type of protection, looks like the kick will do that. Thanks!

There is also the short stop and vape safe fuses for mech mods you can buy, they do not regulate your mod but help to stop a short in it.

The VapeSafe is a one time use, meaning if it stops a short it has to be replaced
On sale for $.99 here
SmokTech Vape Safe

The Short Stop you do not have to replace after it has arrested a short, simply let it cool for a couple minutes before using it again.
and you can find it here for $9.95
ShortStop by Holocron Labs

personally this is what I have used for the past 5 years in every mech mod I own, I have several of the kicks and have only used them a few times, but either IMHO is a good idea.

Excellent! I definitely want to stop shorts that is my biggest fear, I may pick up both :)

What I'd like is a product that limits the minimum fire voltage of a mech.

I've never had any issue with safe-builds, or shorts. My only concern with a mech is that, with my build, I can run them anywhere from about 4.5v on down to like 3.0v, on my regulated mods, depending on my mood.

I'm always afraid that I am going to vape on down past the min-voltage, and not realize it. Something to stop it firing below 3.2 or 3.3v would be awesome.

I may have to look into how to build one. A couple connection pads, and a PNP transistor, maybe?

A genuine Kick by Evolv does that:
2.7v loaded is a little over 3v unloaded. All depends on how good your bat is, and what wattage you are vaping at, as to how much voltage drop you have under load.
