O-rings aren't going to be that much of an issue unless they're a non-standard size that you can't snag at the hardware store.

Take a set to your local hardware store and see if they correspond to what's readily available. If you find a match, no need to stock up.

Byd Yiana uses the Subtank Mini and their gaskets have a special shape yp hold Ir together.

Yiana i woukd recommend 5&10 more sets.

I knew the Owner of a company that made Very High End knives. Very High End and Very Expensive. He needed some help Trouble-Shooting some CNC Code and I meet him at his shop on a Sunday.

I got there kinda Early and when I walked in, he was putting his Newest Folding Model into plain White Boxes. I asked him what he was doing because his knives normally went out in a Velvet Bag inside a Cool Presentation Box. He told me, with a Huge Grin on his face that he was Boxing up "Clones".

It took me a second to Figure it out. Because how could the Original OEM make a Clone of his own product?

But he explained that there just Wasn't any way to stop people from Cloning his Knives. So instead of losing out on that market, why not make his Own and sell them thru a "Middle Man" distributor. The profit was much Less. But as he put it... "You can Never go broke taking a Profit". And his Clones were as Good as the Originals. Because they WERE the Originals. LOL.

So sometimes when I see a "Clone" I wonder if it was made by another Party? Or if it was made By/For the Original OEM?

Yep. the clone Kanger STM V2 rba decks I got are exactly like the genuiine ones. Take em all apart and they all fit back together perfectly. No janky nothing.
Now I got a couple of 510 mod bases to try that are total crap.
Think I will stick with Fatdaddy for those kind of parts.

And the clone STM bases... Well the 510 pin was at least a MM too short.
Can fix them with my microtorch and a bit of brazing rod and shape them back up, but just poor QC.

You can find quite a few at Fasttech, for example (use pull down menu on the right and you will see a lot of other Kayfun Lite clones):

But I would not buy Kayfun lite for myself - they are difficult to fill, they do not have adjustable airflow.

Then you're doing it wrong. The KFL is a sinch to fill and the airflow is adjustable but how much adjustment do you need for a MTL tank?

The Subtank glass Orings are special and not available at any hardware store.
With that said I have about 15 sets of Orings, 20 replacement glass, 12 bases, 8 standard tops, 8 bellcaps, 4 topfill tops and 16 RBA's of the STM variety.
Like you I have used on STM since last November and it is still going strong.
So I should be set on Subtanks for the rest of my like.

I have a Grainger store just a few miles from my house. They have every size o-ring known to man there. Also, as long as you have accurate diameter + thickness measurements you can get any o-ring for anything through multiple online suppliers. I'm not saying it isn't smart to stock up now. But if at some time in the distant future you need one, it will be there.

Thats ok for O rings. The shape of tge rings for the STM IS PROPRIETARY.

I would just think that if someone was an OEM, that they would want to Capture part of the "Clone" market also. So why not Make your Own Clones and have them ready for Release very soon after you do a new product Roll Out.

The Clone Market can also be a Good Place for an OEM to dump parts that might not be at a Quality Level as those you want to sell as "Genuine". And when the Bad Reviews come rolling in, the company's name Doesn't take the hit. It's the "Clone" that gets the Bad Name.

STM rings are flat on one side a d a flange go prevent leaking.

It is very likely a normal O ring would leak like crazy.

BTW - Call me Crazy. But I actually prefer the v1 STM RBA's over the v2 STM RBA's with the Holes in the RBA covers.

The v1's after I file the e-Liquid slots a little that is.

I'm glad you told me. I was going to pick up the clones. Thankfully I haven't bought them yet. Bellcaps would be cool too.



I have a freakshow mini that I used to use all the time before I got my first stm. I also have a geyser that does up to four coils that I got last summer. I dripped all the time, but when I got my first stm I liked it so much that I got sick of dripping. I'm glad I have them though.

I would avoid the clone bell caps on Fasttech..

Ok got some short stops and kicks now I need a mech mod, how do I know what will take a kick or short stop? Is one mech better than another? I would like something with closed off firing button option, do they all have bottom firing buttons? I know nothing about these. Oh and vent holes, I want vent holes Thanks for any help!

It's got one of those stupid "direct to battery" caps, which has its own safety concern, but that concern can be totally eliminated by knowing how to set up your atty's positive pin, and then forgotten about. And, it eliminates a few parts, so it does make it that much more bullet proof.

The switch, though, automatically locks when you release it, and requires a push in two planes to fire it. It's less intuitive than a straight bottom button, but it's the only mech I've ever felt comfortable throwing in my pocket- you don't even have to remember or lock the button.

You know...I should have done this the first time. I was pretty nervous but after I was done I realized how easy it is. I use a plastic pouring beaker and a small funnel. 120ml bottles hold more than 120mls with a small head space. Different brands are slightly different.

Now when I do it I figure out how much goes in to the bottom of the neck and fill the beaker to the right amount and pour. I still have to top each off a little but it really makes it an assembly line once you know how much to fill the beaker. No chance at an oopsie overflow.

I was terrified tge first time i made eJuice.

Stockpiling Q: What's a Nautilus user to do?

I have plenty of mods (I think) and I'm slowly building my nic supply. However, I'm stumped by the tank/coil issue. It's too darn expensive to stock up on many years worth of pre-made nautilus coils.

I'm a MTL user, and from what I've been able to digest, a Kayfun Lite tank might be a good, rebuildable option for me to hold in reserve. My questions are:

1. What tank do you recommend for me?

2. If a Kayfun Lite is recommended, even a clone, I cannot find them in stock ANYWHERE. Links to in stock options?

Also, I'd be happy to know how other nautilus users are handing their supplies and any other recommendations ....

Both Kayfun and Nautilus are good.

Why not do both of them.

It IS possible to rebuild the Nautilus coil heads.

I got the Bell caps 4139704 from FT and they appear to be fine. No leaky. Granted I have only used 2 of them so far but am satisfied.

They are plastic so just do not jam the threads on. turn backwards till you feel the threads drop in and then screw on.

I got them for outside use so I did not shatter glass in my pocket or something. I prefer and use the glass tanks most of the time.

ntw all STM Bell caps are clones. Well aftermarket anyway since Kanger does not seem to offer them.
