So I made my husband aware of the fact that I think we just threw away 160$ when I purchased the blu. It seems to be doing it's job OK.. It's keeping me away from analogs and I'm slowly learning how to efficiently refill a cartridge without flooding my atty. But I just don't think this is going to do it.

My husband says that he doesn't mind getting me a different e-cig, but I've only got one
"Do-Over" as he put it. So I don't want to mess this up!!

I've got an updated list of what I want out of a PV now. The look of it no longer matters to me. At all.

1. Throat hit still important.
2. Vapor production just as important now.
3. Reliability.
4. Ease of use, still don't want to suck a triple thick milkshake.
5. Cartridges that are made to be easily refilled with e-juice.
6. The ability to buy empty cartridges so I don't have to mix would be grand. (Does the Joye 510 offer this?)
7. Consistency.

The blu is nearly impossible to refill and requires a lot of time and effort. I am SICK of it. I want an e-cig that's designed to be refilled. And the most annoying thing, is the fact that it only satisfies me for about 15 minutes then I need a new cartridge (Or have to refill it - arrgh).

A lot of people have suggested a Joye 510 to me, but I can't seem to find a decent review of it. I've found one review and it wasn't a good one. I'd also like to know everything about it. I basically want it dissected in front of me. I do not want to make another mistake.

Automatic batteries have their upsides, but from what I've seen the e-cigs with manual batteries seem to be the best.

Let the suggestions and helpful links flow.

Seriously take a look at the eGO. Janty USA - USA SHOP || Shipping in USA

Is is a small sleek design with absolutely excellent battery life. Provides gobs of vapor and consistent throat hit.

Best of all the company that sells it (Janty) is top notch with customer service and it comes with a 6 month warranty (even on the atty). I would advise buying some extra 510 attys as well, just in case.

I have owned a lot of Janty products and they are 100%, the best company out there.

I've got an updated list of what I want out of a PV now. The look of it no longer matters to me. At all.

1. Throat hit still important. -Yes you decide the hit with the manual.
2. Vapor production just as important now. - Yes - again your input matters.
3. Reliability. - Yes but battery life sucks
4. Ease of use, still don't want to suck a triple thick milkshake. - Yes
5. Cartridges that are made to be easily refilled with e-juice. Yes jsut drip and go and replace the fillier occasionally lots use polyfil and teabags.
6. The ability to buy empty cartridges so I don't have to mix would be grand. (Does the Joye 510 offer this?) - Yes - you can even find a pack of 50 MarlB flavored at Heaven Gifts (prefilled)
7. Consistency. - Yes

Now ,after saying all of that you may be interested in one of the mods. I vaped with the 510 for the past 7 month but can tell you the batteries can only be charged so many times and battery life sucks for a heavy vaper.

The screwdriver I just got seems a little tempermental but I understand from other posters that the Chuck is a good model and PureSmoker has outstanding customer service. I am waiting til next week to get a V2 from PS myself. The great thing about the mods is the super battery life, the flexibility and the ability to replace the battery from many different locations, instead of paying 10 bucks for what amounts to a double A battery with a thread attached.

heres a review of my 510 if its any use that i got from vaporstation(.net for US .co.uk for UK)

Carts: come in round or flat(whistle) tip, black, brown or white...they are easy to refill...pull out stuffing...drip a bit in, put stuffing back in and drip til its full but not leaking out top...i use a tweezers but a paperclip tip also works to get stuffing in and out

the atomisers are just atomisers to me...they slot onto carts quick tightly when new(the carts i mean) and get looser through use but not too loose to fall off...forgot to mention i refill my carts umpteen times and they are fine

depending on using an auto or manual battery(only use manual for dripping) you can drip your juice 2-3 drops at a time onto atomiser bridge(the end that attaches to cart)...just take out stuffing and do this instead...when vapor/flavor drops off drip another 2-3 drops....easy.

My batterys are standard joye 510 batterys...they last me 2-3 hrs and charge for about 1-1.5 hrs...attys and batts come in lots of colours..i like white...my bf like blk...the lights at the end come in lots of colours too...we both have blue lights.

the 510 gives lots of vapor.using the manual batt i get a warmer inhale of air which i like and a good throat hit...sometimes 2 much for me but my bf likes the throat hit to be strong so good for that...the flavor from my 510 is great...better than my 901 that i started with

i have bought 4 kits in total from eric at vaporstation...all the kits have had batterys that work and keep on working...atomisers that work and keep on working and the carts are grand for refilling and reusing...ive had mine 4 weeks and no problems whatsoever....i sat on my 510 and broke an atomiser but that was my fault...im not saying buy from them im just saying that the joye 510 is a reliable ecig and the parts are good quality...i havent had an atty die yet...

i got my bf the pcc case and its working fine too...he loves it(and he wa only half interested in giving up cigs for ecigs but is a total convert because of the 510...the 901 didnt do it for him!)

any questions feel free to ask...this is my review and of course just my opinion

hope u get what u need : o)

There are a lot of reviews for the joye 510. Have you tried going to youtube and searching for "joye 510 review"? From what it sounds like you're wanting this would be the way to go. It's what I started with, and it helped me quit cigs. It's easily refillable, and you can buy spare cartridges to go with it, but you'll soon learn that you will still have to top off or refill the cartridge after a few drags unless you mod the cart itself by putting something else into it to absorb the juice instead of the filling they come with. You can also pull the filling out and wash it to change flavors, so you don't really -need- extra cartridges but they're nice to have if you don't like refilling often, and just want to switch out and go.

As far as consistency goes, it's all in the atomizer. Of course having a full or mostly charged battery helps too, but the atomizers are what you'll be replacing most often. I've had them last anywhere from 2 weeks to a month and a half. Some people have had them burn out same day, or even had them last more than 3 months. There are so many different methods of cleaning and taking care of them you'll spend days reading on this forum.

My opinion is to just go for it. You're going to spend less getting a 510 kit than you would on a carton of analogs. Cheapest place is cignot.com. Get the $35 no-box kit. Most importantly, remind your husband that this is saving your life, giving you years to spend more time together, and that its exceptionally cheaper and more beneficial than smoking cigarettes.

Furthermore, as you continue along your journey into vaping you will eventually want to step up from a standard e-cig and look into mods different kinds of juices and spend more and more and more money. REGARDLESS, You are still spending less than you would smoking cigarettes and also not dying in the process. I hope this helps ;)

My recommendation is KR808D-1.
Fulfills all your requirements...
1. Good throat hit
2. Good vapor production
3. Very reliable
4. Very easy to use - nice draw
5. Cartomizers are fairly easy to refill
6. Blank cartomizers are available to use your own e-juice
7. Very consistent hit and flavor for a standard e-cig
8. Cartomizers last much longer than most cartridges. Hours instead of minutes
9. Fairly inexpensive to get set-up

These are two companies I've had great dealings with who sell the KR808D-1...
PureSmoker PureSmoker.com - Home of the USA Built PV !!!
Good Prophets VapoRite KR-808

I have almost all models (901, 801, 401, 306, 510) and the KR808D-1 requires the least amount of fiddling. It just works.

Don't buy no china junk, I got a janty 510 1 battery's was DOA the other lasted less then a hour, so it may as well been DOA in my book as it's worthless.

Buy a good mod with good battery life, as for the janty warranty it cost more to ship it back, then what it's worth so don't burn your last chance.

I ordered the new prodigy V2 and I'm waiting for it, you could of had one for what you paid for the junk blu cost, so don't fall for it the 2nd time.

Look carefully at the different mods, pick the one that is best for your needs, like in my case I got a full prodigy V2 510 kit, and another set of battery's $110 shipped. I can add 801 or 901 later if I want, they are cheap so it's no problem.

But there is other mods as well that are really good, both bigger and smaller ones, don't buy into the junk it's burning money simple as that. A good mod will last forever, the battery's work much longer, and they don't cost much more then the junk.

Heh.. your going to get as many different answers in here as there are models. I won't tell you what to get (510 is my fav), but I know what I would get if I was only allowed ONE more purchase...

- Big Chuck (lets you go to HV later if you choose) $80 shipped
(3 day batt life, awesome hit)
- 4- 510 attys (~$20)
- adapter for cartos (so you can go that route if you choose) ($5) (will take the 808's recommended above)

Your hubby should be aware that you will have to keep buying attys and juice from time to time. But if you start off with the right setup it can be your last big purchase. With inexpensive adapters you can go to whatever atty model you want.

BTW: all the stuff in the list above is going to be way less than your $160 Blu. and blow it out of the water on performance.

Just my .02

Big Chuck is another one I have heard good things about. And he knows that I need to buy juice and the occasional piece/part. He doesn't mind spending money on it here and there, it's just dropping the huge chunk that bugs him.

I will definitely do some research on this PV. Thanks..

ps: What site did you get yours from?

Chuck's can only be purchased form THAG BUILT: A Wolf in Sheeps Clothing!

I have a Chuck on order. Hard for me to absolutely recommend because I do not have it yet (It will take about 2 weeks to get it from when you order). Chucks do get almost universal positive reviews. I did recommend the eGo because I actually own it and have personal experience with it.

If you only have one last shot ... ( i really doubt that though :D ) You might want to consider the GGTS. It has to be one of the most configurable mods out there.
Can do all the different voltages out there.
Can handle pretty much all batteries out there.
Has USB and wall charger.
Has AFS (Auto feeding system) which allows you to put a lot more juice in it so you don't need to be refilling and dripping all the time.
Beautiful design
HV atomizers
locking button
4 in 1 connector so you don't need atomizer adapters
All mechanical

I have one on order already but I've also ordered a GGT as a backup.

I have three (not that anyone needs more than one) and I highly recommend it.

If you are not concerned about it looking like a cig, a big battery mod is the way to go. You get excellent battery life, excellent performance, and (if you get the right one), it's very adaptable to different atomizer and cartomizer models. So once you have the BB mod you can try any model atty out for 10-15 bucks.

For some of us, it's not the look that keeps us from big battery mods. It's convenience - try dangling one of those from your teeth while riding your bike, or standing in the kitchen, cooking.

It's gonna make your dentist a very, very happy person!
