Sounds like you've got a combination of your body saying " I want all those things in cigarettes you aren't giving me anymore" calling you AND "the taste blues" going on at the same time. Both are common around that one month mark as others have shared here.

A different vaping device isn't going to fix your taste buds problem. When taste buds go on strike they don't care what device you are using to vape with ;) Drinking LOTS of water and waiting it out will :) It won't be surprising if you find when your taste buds return that your taste in juices is changing too. It happens a lot that ones first favorite juices don't stay their favorites.

A new vaping toy may help you get your excitement about vaping back which is always fun :) And you may need the ability at times to vape at higher voltages then you are regularly using now with your Kgo to make it a more satisfying vape.

Have a cigarette if you feel you really need to, as someone else said, that just may convince you how much you DONT want to go back to smoking again :) Most importantly come here anytime you need some friendly advice or just feel you need to vent. Lots of us are here to help :)

Got to add, I have to agree with yzer, while there are a lot of people on this board that vape over 8 watts if you could get "most" people here to take a poll I'd be betting on an awful lot of them regularly vape lower then 8 watts :) Although that might be hard to prove because an awful lot of them haven't the slightest idea what wattage they actually vape it ;)

Before I make the poll, I want to make sure we are talking about the same thing...

So most people in the world almost certainly vape at less than 8 watts.
It pretty much takes an variable voltage or an APV that takes multiple batteries to get above 8 watts.

But are you guys saying that of the people who have the equipment to do so, and have tried it, most are vaping at or below 8 watts?
Because I'm saying I seriously doubt it, and I'm thinking it's about 40/60 at best.
:)

Don't mean to jack the thread... but can someone tell me what the wattage has got to do with the vaping? More or less, what are the benefits? Hotter and faster burring atty? more vapor? Draw alterations? I'm lost. Yes, I'm a noob to this.

On topic though, I find this taste buds blues very interesting. Like I am learning more about quitting analogs trying to vape than I have ever known about analogs in my life. Didn't even know my taste buds were a.w.o.l.

I can't give you any advice on this matter as i am actually waiting for my first ever vape kit in the mail as i type, but i would say... if i were in your shoes? I would simply vape more, drink more fluids, down some ice cream.. anything to keep my hands and mouth busy.

Hang in there! I just hit the one month mark and week three was a killer for me! I increased my nic level for a couple of days and that really helped. I was actually surprised how much it helped. I also hit a local vape shop and tried some different e-liquids to mix things up. That helped, but not as much as increasing my nic level.

I second all the recommendations to increase your water intake. It makes a huge difference. My taste buds are going in and out this week and increasing my water intake has really helped level things out.

Please continue to ask questions. There are always folks here that can help!

Becca, I feel your pain:). I'm not sure if you can afford it (because, lord knows, they aren't cheap), but my reo mod has gotten me through some tough times. If atomizers start frustrating the heck out of you, the 1.7 ohm single coil shorties are just really easy and reliable, and the flavor's better than other cartos I've used. That said, I've been at this a really long time (though I'm new to the forum), and there are still tough days. But then they'll pass, and I'll be honestly happier with the set-up described above than I was with my long-beloved Parliaments. Best of luck to you. Keep coming back here; these are super people!

I'm not even a week in and I still have a craving for an analog every once in a while. I don't get the nicotine delivery that I did with analogs, but the habit aspect is satisfied with vaping; hand to mouth fixation and plumes of clouds exhaled for example.

What has helped me the most is to remind myself why not smoking is so great.

Smoking is harmful to my health and to the health of those around me
Smoking makes my clothes, hair, car, and house stink.
Smoking makes my kids stink.
Smoking makes my teeth and fingers yellow
Smoking is very expensive
Smoking dulls the taste buds

Vaping is none of the above things and with the plethora of flavors to choose from, it tastes so much better! Why would I ever want to go back? It just wouldn't be logical!

Hang in there! You can do it!

You're not alone in not realizing how smoking over the years has killed your taste buds. :) Many of us have been amazed how different some of our food taste to us a few weeks after we've quit smoking. We've also killed our sense of smell smoking. I will never forget the day a few weeks after I quit smoking that I smelled the fresh smell of raindrops on the grass. I'd totally missed the fact that I hadn't smelled that for years until the day I could smell it again :)

VERY simply put, the combination of ohms(from your atty or carto) and your volts (from your battery) give you your wattage when vaping. Lower wattage: cooler vape, less intense. higher wattage: warmer vape, more intense. Some juices tend to taste better at either ends of your wattage. but also remember how subjective taste can be so one cant always say everyone is going to like a certain juice better on lower wattage or higher wattage although there does tend to at least a bit of agreement sometimes. The higher the wattage the more likely the burnt taste, but again subjectivity comes into play. Nicotine give throat hit but for someone like me that vapes little or no nic higher watts gives a sense of throat hit to my vaping. Once you start vaping this will all make sense to you :)

And by the way, I have to ask, are you living in St Kitts ? I'll be visiting there for the day in a few weeks :)

hello Becca. I think it's common to have a period around the one month mark where juice does not taste the same. your taste buds are healing and it takes awhile. I know it can be really frustrating but it WILL pass. Drink lots of water. find things that will clense you taste buds and try new juices or a different nic level. good luck!

Hang in there...it dos get better I promise. What are your favorite juice flavors? Id also recommend upping the nicotine. Regulated voltage like a Provari provides ended up being a godsend for me, not sure if youre getting that with the Egos or not...didnt see if they were a twist. If they arent the regulated voltage could be a HUGE difference in your satisfaction. Give the same great hit all day long.

I guess I was saying that there are still people who frequent this board that don't use vv or vw devices. More of them then I think we often realize because there is so much talk on the board about vv and now vw. And also even among those that do use vv or vw I think many do still tend to stay in that 6-8 watt area most often. Just because they have devices that can go to 6 volts doesn't mean that's what they have them set at. Before I got my first vv device I expected I was going to be using 5 VTs often but in reality when I paid attention to what I was actually setting my device at I was most often closer to 4 volts and rarely set it near 5 VTs. The beauty of vv to me is in the fact that I can go to 10 watts if I feel like it and easily adjust back to 7 or 8 watts when I feel like it. And yes there are quite a few here that set their devices for 5 VT and use 2 ohm attys/cartos/tank and vape at 12.5 watts. Would be an interesting poll if enough of the cross section participated in it :)

I just quit smoking Dec. 2012, its hard, so I went to the casino its hard not to smoke so I puff one analog, I don't like it anymore because of the smell and taste of it. Then I pulled out my big Mod to satisfy my craving while playing. I started with a kit I bought and realized the kit is really for beginners that I got fed up of charging the battery every hour. Waste of $74.00 of that kit. A week after bought a VV Mod big one 18650 batt. loved it but its too big when I go out, so bought again new batt, 4 different colors of Ego Spinners 1300, tanks, carto, drip tips, cones, vision clearomizers, titan tanks, etc. shopping galore....I'm enjoying my vaping collections so far. I'm 3 weeks smoke free...

Im running a 2.0ohm carto at 4.2 volts you can calculate the watts if you want to.I have neither the desire nor the need to know how many watts Im running. Voltage is more accurate anyway.

And the people are generally super friendly. Well when you can understand what they are saying lol, and they are speaking english! When or around the time when you are closer to your coming here pm me or something. Could give you the skinny of everything you may need to know for your island vist and hook you up with all the best deals. A day you say? you taking an island cruise?

I feel a lot of your pain in this as well. I am at my 5 week mark since my last analog and the past several days have been the worst for thinking about smoking since the first few days. The first few was mostly just trying to get used to breaking the physical habits if lighting the cigarettes, ashing, wondering where is my ash tray that type if stuff. Now these past few days I have just nit felt satisfied with vaping and that I need something more. In this past 5 weeks I have gone from a starter 510-t set with attys/cartridges, to an ego twist with clearomizers and now already into a joye evic with either a vivi Nova or my tanks with cartomizers..... so short of spending hundreds of more dollars on a provari or another device I think I need to figure out what my issue is. As of now I'm just not feeling the hits, like I see the vapor come out of my mouth but I swear the throat hit never happened so its leaving me craving more. I am sure that this is due to many many issues. One I'm trying to finish off this 30ml bottle of juice that I nit enjoying the flavour of anymore while awaiting my shipment of new liquids. Two even though I have an evic and I have read countless hours of info I still can not wrap my brain around vv@VW and what settings I should be using. So basically I leave it at around 3.7 up to 4.2 volts because if I go above that it instantly tastes burnt. I know that my taste buds are all out if wack or should I say maybe I can taste again? I dunno but everything tastes like paper or chemicals. These are juices that I had been really enjoying to...

sorry for all the typos, im using my tablet and just fail at the touch screen keyboard typing lol
