As of 5:30 today it's been one week. I'll be brutally honest here in that I am still smoking some analogues because I don't think that I am fully using the ecig to it's capacity. However, I also know that I will get there. I still have a tough time with first thing when I get up, once the coffee is made and I'm having that first cup, the ride to work, the ride home, and one in the evening. However, I am working on this. I can tell you that never in 32 years have I been able to conciously go without an analogue for 9 hours straight which I do every day now Monday through Friday. I don't smoke from the moment that I get to work until the moment that I leave. Not during any breaks that I take. So what I've been doing in the morning is instead of saying that I have to have an entire analogue when I think that I can't stand it I now have 1/2 of one and then I use the ecig until I get out of the shower and have that coffee and I have the other 1/2. Then, 1 on the way to work, 1 on the way home, and then I split the other 1/2 and 1/2 in the evening. So the next step in the process is to stop being such a wimp and increase the mg in the ecig until I get to the level that I need. The nice thing is that I do know that I'm getting there. I feel better after one week even though I am still smoking a few analogues. I'll make it.

Welcome to the forum, Lisa! Sounds like you're off to a good start. Don't sweat the occasional analogue... just keep in mind all the ones you've avoided. I know when I first started I was using a lower nic then I needed to completely switch over. Had to go up to 24mg before I felt human. :) Keep vaping.... and let us know if you have any questions.

When I first started vaping I had only bought 18mg juices. Sometimes I'd vape for 2 hours straight to get the nic I was needing in the morning. I bought some 24mg, and now I vape for maybe 1/2 an hour before it feels right. So, my advice is to buy some juices in different strengths and flavors. Use the stronger ones when you want to get the nic quicker and the lower level ones to maintain. Also, don't worry about burning a few cigs, most of us do for a while. I smoked one after vaping for a few weeks and wondered how I'd done it for over 30 years. It tasted downright disgusting. I gave my last pack away. I've been smoke free for about a month and haven't looked back.

As above, I had an awful time first thing in the morning and then a few times during the day. Same solution worked for me. I kept some 24mg and 36mg cartos around so that when I felt like it really was time for a cig, I would vape one of them for a little while and the desire for a cig went away pretty quickly. 6 weeks and very happy.

Wow, I think you all just answered my question. I have been using 18mg. I would say it's time to suck it up (literally) and try the 24mg for "those" times and then use the 18 for the other times throughout the day. Makes perfect sense!

I wasn't a heavy smoker at, but found the 24mg works great for me over the 18mg. Don't rush things it'll take some time to find what works for you. I can honestly say that I now like vaping as much as I liked smoking because of the flexibility in flavors and strength. Switch it up however you want whenever you want and you can literally have a vape to meet any need. ( and you can enjoy it too)

I tried the 18 at first too, prefilled carts of course. Those were my two mistakes that would not let me drop analogs. I learned to refil with 36mg juice, took one hit and thought "Wow." Tossed the analogs in the trash and never looked back.

No withdrawls, no craving an analog and, within a week dreaming od my morning vape, what flavor, on the pation or in th house, which of my coffee creamer would go best with the juice i decided on and, what new e cig thing can i order today?

When you find what's right for you, it really is that easy, just be patient, try a few things and, you will get it.

Don't be hard on yourself. I think the pressure of trying to quit makes it even tougher. Whenever I wanted a real cigarette, I would have one, but I found that more and more often, I preferred my PV. I went for 3 days without a real cigarette before I realized I had quit.

Just remember that every time you use your PV that you have smoked one less cigarette.
