Hello Champions!!!

Well, I have gone one week smoke free. This is after a month of pretty much under five analogs a day, and under three a day the final week.

I was a 1-2PAD Newport 100's Smoker for over thirty years.

I started out with a Greensmoke. It wasn't bad, but I needed just a little more oomph to be totally successful.

I then bought the KGO. Great set up. Really. Affordable, and really does the job.

I bit on the lure of the Provari. I know this will be a long term commitment from me, so after reading so much about it, I bought it today. Her name is Phoebe. I'm learning a lot about it right now. The throat hit is better. All the rest is kind of Greek to me.

Juices.. ahhhh that I think will always be my greatest caveat.

Dekangs tobacco's are pretty good, and really have helped me.
Dekangs Menthol's have some strange nasty taste in them. I have a lot of it... so I'm hoping to eventually incorporate it into the tobacco, drop by drop.
Dekangs RY4 is pretty good.
I bought these from Hoosier E-Cig Supply, quick service and attention to detail. Brent is great over there and changed a shipping address so I could get my KGO quicker. Great Customer Service, and prices.
Backwoods Brew's:
They are all pretty great. The Backo is really helping me get thru withdrawls.
The menthol, I should have gotten medium menthol not strong.
Ejoker is interesting. I don't LOVE it, but I like it, and I'm pretty picky.
RY4 its pretty good.
Casablanca really got me over a hump while I was waiting for everything to come in.
I'm letting them all steep a little and I'll see how they taste then. I love that there isn't an after taste in these brews. They are all pretty great.
Great Service, and follow up! Sometimes some flavors are limited due to hard to get ingredients. I love the folks over there though, great people.

Pinkspot
I have the Flue Cured Tobacco, and it's really good.

E-Juice Emporium
Banana I am loving at night in a drip tip for a couple of drips. Very nice and different
Espresso I loved at first drip and then for some reason I hated it.... I don't understand that, but I will give it some time and try again. I've got a tank full of it!
I bought these locally at E-Cig City, along with my Provari, and accessories. Jason is awesome, and has spent a lot of time teaching me what I need to know. His prices are fair, and I don't have to wait for shipping which is great! Great location and shop.

Nhaler
I've got the Newport juice, and upon greater inhale I am asking.... is this Dekang???
Quick Service, great follow up on questions.

ECF is a great Community. The support and help I have gotten is making this possible. I'm making new friends. Quitting hasn't been tough for the most part.... Getting down to that one a day really helped me before I quit. I went so long in between, I actually felt nasty when I smoked an analog. My first couple of days after quitting analogs, I was soooooooooooooooo sore, like a Mack truck had hit me, that was my biggest problem. I haven't been coughing and this concerns me, because I thought I would hack up a lung by quitting. My lungs are pretty shot, so I hope this isn't a bad sign.

If your new and have questions or need a Buddy in quitting, I'm here for you.

Great Success!

If this is in the wrong forum, please move :) Thanks!

I am in my second month and keep waiting for the coughing but it hasn't happened yet.

After the first week my morning analogue hack disappeared, which I was grateful for.

Have read other threads saying the same thing so not overly concerned.

Anyways well done you.

I will always remember that sense of achievement going that first day then week cig free.

Really never thought it would happen.

Congrats, you've accomplished a lot and are over the hump of a week off smoking. That was crucial for me because after that I preferred vaping to smoking by a long shot. I couldn't get through more than 2 drags of a cigarette without putting it out and being around smoking didn't tempt me anymore. Keep on vaping and it all gets easier. Can you believe you quit?

I didn't cough up a bunch of crap when I quit and I don't seem any worse for wear at almost a year and a half of vaping. Not sure if it's a bad sign long term that I didn't get a physical verification of some kind of lung cleansing from decades of cigarettes, but I am relieved to have more lung capacity. I get the heavy lung feeling with 100% VG and often wonder if it is related, but on the other hand I haven't really been sick for the entire time--just dead leaf and pollen allergy sniffles once or twice. It's all good.

I'm happy for you, thanks for sharing

Andy, Thank you... I have been starting to get worried about the lack of coughing. It's nice not to sound like my Dad's cough anymore. That is one part of him that I was becoming that I wasn't liking. May God Rest his soul.

Juice Junky, I am so proud of myself!!! My Sister deflates a little.. a non-smoker who doesn't like the vape either :) LOL....

I'm home full time right now, it will be interesting when I'm in Tahoe for a weekend, and out more in the world the upcoming week... I know when I was at the store and looked over the counter at the cigarettes it all seemed like a far off distant memory, but it was only a week. I think cutting back so much for the month made a difference. I noticed as I smoked the last couple of days only a couple, then one a day that I was feeling horrible... and the taste wasn't mindblowing. It's so amazing because I was "Such" a smoker....

The third day I woke up and none of my juices tasted good... that truly is the hardest part... I'm not a desert type person so all the sweet stuff... doesn't appeal to much to me. That third day though I got on here and everyone was go Team go with me and that helped.

Congratulations on your 1.5 years! That is huge!!!!

OMgosh I know!!!!! People around you looking at you... and your like internally... I don't have lung cancer, I don't have lung cancer.... and the fact that you never knew if there was going to be projectile... GROSS but true!

I sooooo miss that morning coughing fit when you expect some major organ that you probably need internally to come flying out!

I was reflecting on the identity part a lot Dlsw... I have been hooked since 12.... anchored really... it has controlled so much of what I did, or didn't do.... how I reacted... baby fits from withdrawls when I had a long stretch... it got better as I got older but.... wow when you think about it. I can remember a December in Michigan... I had flown back and my Dad had a 5.2cm Anurism sp. on his heart.... they did a double bypass and due to all his years of smoking (which finally two years ago killed him :( :( :( ) he couldn't get enough oxygen. I watched him fight the Drs. as they FORCED by a huge machine over his face oxygen into him, and walked away, went downstairs and outside for a smoke. It was SO COLD... I remember that... it hurt to smoke because it was so cold... and I thought to myself are you NUTS... ? I've smoked thru bronchitis, pneumonia..., a hysterectomy when I was supposed to be bedridden I snuck out with no pants and a blanket because they took my pants to keep me in bed from smoking..... I have rattled on... but it is such a huge accomplishment, and to be surrounded by such winners here!!!!! Thank you!

Great job!! It is hard giving up something that is such a big part of your life and identity. Thanks for sharing the juice story, I am sure that it will help a lot of people looking for that perfect juice to quit. Here's a pat on the back for doing something so hard!

When you go to Tahoe, remember rest rooms are your friend if you feel self-conscious vaping in public. You'll absolutely love not stinking anymore--it's a major boost to your self esteem. When a hugger comes at you now, you can enjoy hugging them right back.

Cigarettes were my best friend and never thought I'd leave them behind. Vaping is higher maintenance, but long term a much better friend and not so two faced.

I just have to give you a +1 on the hugger issue.. I used to deflect huggers with a change of subject, turning away to "do something/anything" to keep from being hugged. I didn't want to be "that nice girl who stinks like a pack of smokes". And now I'm just that "nice girl who hugged me back". :) THAT is one of the greatest feelings in the world to me.

Enchanted, good job on the juice recap! You're already helping other people who are trying to make the switch themselves!

I didn't hack up anything either! But, my blood pressure went down, O2 absorption went up, shortest dental cleaning chair time ever and my dentist said my gums were excellent (NEVER heard that before!). Biggest benefit to my vaping is that my g-babies hug me a lot longer!

hmph...same with me - I have not coughed up all the crap in my lungs. I know it's there. I can feel it. I keep waiting...

My wife said I don't cough nearly as much as I used to. I can tell that my sinuses are much better. and do feel some improvement in my lungs, but after 30 years at 1.5 packs a day (325,000!!!+ cigs) perhaps I shouldn't expect much.
