So I have some 11 and 18mg nic menthol and menthol mind juices.

I take a puff on the 18mg, and the first one feels sooooo good, so does the second and third, but on the forth, it feels much more smooth, and i seem to loose the TH.

If I then vape on another e-cig, then come back to the other one in say 10 mins, I get the same thing.

Is it becasue the cartomiser is getting too hot. I want the TH on every vape, am I doing something wrong.

I do puff quit quickly and can feel the device getting a little hot. Maybe vaping with a 5 second break in betweeen, then pressing the button on bat for 5-6 seconds.

KR8s (i don't know about 510 cartos) have the same wicking problems. The juice has to wick from the filler to the wick. there is a tube that reaches into the carto from the battery end (about a 1/2 inch). Ideally the filler in the area of the tube would be saturated heavily with juice and the area of filler above the tube would be moist. If the wick is in good shape it will pull from the pool around the tube quite readily.

You could be vaping quicker than your carto can keep up with you. You did say that you puff quite quickly. I've noticed that vapor production will decline for me when I vape too quickly, so the same might apply to throat hit. Try taking a couple of puffs and then waiting for about 10 seconds. That usually works for me when I'm chain vaping.

A couple of ideas. You could try a 510 atty and a ptb modded cart. That used to work really well for me. I don't use it anymore since I do most of my vaping now with a passthrough and an 801 atty (holds up much better to HV). You might want to go with a self feeder mod. That will get rid of all the wicking problems

Ok, couple of things guys

(1) thanks for all the info
(2) Searcher : Pyramid teabag - I have to admit I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT THAT IS. could you explain a little further as to how I achieve what it is that you are saying, as you are saying it is a possible solution.
(3) KingsAngel - Topped off carto - do you mean drip some eliquid on to end that connects to the battery - could you explain what you mean there.

Complete newb to e-cigs - sorry guys.

+1 on going with a 3rd gen PV. On my Reo Grand, I'm using a LR510 carto, which I prefer over the LR510 atty (haven't gotten around to trying a 306 yet). A long slow inhale on this mod draws enough juice into the carto to keep it perpetually going, especially with a full bottle of VG.

I've seen a friend stick a drip tip on top of a KR808D, and he's liking that carto. He's a newbie, and that seems to take out a bit of the learning curve as opposed to dripping onto an atty.

Hope that helps.

The Pyramid tea bag mod is when you remove the filler material from a cartridge and put the teabag material found on Lipton tea in its place. Search here on ECF for PTB mod and you'll likely come up with some results. But basically you just cut one up and stuff it in there. My advice, get a drip tip, they're only a dollar or so and much less hassle than cart's.

Juice Feeder.

It doesn't "fix" the problem that you have with the cartos, but it will get you the results you are looking for.

I tried cartos and carts and gave up very quickly- they were just nowhere near enough for me.
Now I have a pv with a 6ml tank for my primary device and a second one for my backup. ;)

+1 Juice feeders are the way to go. My Mimi-Pump is perfect!

Buy or make a juice feeder mod and be done with, cart, carto's and dripping....

The puck is a great first mod and can be made with easy to get parts. Then you can add a juicer.... I made my first one because I wasn't getting the consistency and vapor I wanted. Problem solved!

Same issue here. But I've found that it's my throat getting used to the "harshness" of the TH and not the actual device or juice itsself. But I'm a dripper so my problem may have different origins than you to begin with.

that's what i think for myself, i have the same issue.

The Boge soft cap cartos I can vape and vape and vape. I've never had a wicking problem and I puff three long times times in a row exhale then immediatly do it again. I actually get more TH on the 2nd and 3rd hit. I ALWAYS had a problem with the standard atty/cart. Never with these. not even with thick juice. this on my 510. the draw is a bit loose unless you "fix it"
