So I was taking my LP Grand apart to clean everything and while trying to get the bottom of the 510 pin off (the nipple the hose connects to and that also holds the flat end ofthe firing switch in place) I broke it. I sent redeyedancer a PM asking about this but I figured I would post this as well to see if any of you REO Vets have any advice on a replacement part/pin so I can use my mod again. I have been going to the website periodically but it is still down and I am not even sure if Rob sells just the pins. Any info would be greatly appreciated!!

Rob will sort you out if you PM'd him, but there are rebuild kits you can get that include a replacement 510 pin and nipple.

I knew about the kits but didnt need anything but the pin. Was just trying to see if there were any options out there to where I could just buy some of the pins. Thank you for the reply!

Rob's had kind of a busy day but I'm sure he will get to you ASAP. The nipple of which you speak is part of the rebuild kit - which would be worth it anyway because it will also include an extra battery spring to have on hand.
Do you know of a source for just the pins? I would hate to have to spend $25 every time if I should break just the nipple/pin. Hopefully that wont happen again but who knows? Thank you for the help.

Is this a fairly new REO with the gold contacts already installed? I ask because if it's not....you should get the rebuild kit and convert it anyway. I would like to mention that you can clean the REO completely without ever taking it apart. Rob suggests just giving it a good bath under warm running water. He has a maintenance video on his site that's worth watching (when it comes back up.)

Rob will get you fixed up, but I think he's maybe out of pocket today -- he mentioned taking his mom to the doctor. So if he doesn't get around to answering your PM immediately, that's why. PM redeyedancer.

Rob is the only source, but you should not be taking that apart to clean it. You would never need to take that part apart....you don't ever even need to take the black delrin cover off the REO to clean it. Run it under warm water and shake/blow it dry.

Quit fiddling with yer nipples! :p (Someone had to say it.) I don't remember that being available as a separate part out of context of the rebuild kit. But with Rob - you never know. He might do you a deal and only... ummm... sell you a pair. Pretty sure it's a custom tapped thing and not something he's obtaining elsewhere.

We are asking that question though: About what you are doing in your cleaning process that requires... ummm... fiddling with that thing. The only time the feed tube should come off the... thing is if you ran a liquid through it so nassty that you needed to replace the feed tube.

I was going to tear it down completely, clean it, and reassemble. I have a slight problem with having to take things apart and put them back together. Lesson has been learned and will not be doing that again. Rob was kind enough to sell me a few pins so once they arrive, back together she goes!

'kay. You do know you will need to super glue the tube back in place onto the new... thing? Some newbies get into trouble removing the feed tube to fill even and then don't understand why the feed tube won't stay in place and keeps popping off. Don't know how much glue or where, but I think Rob covers it in the rebuild video he did.
