I have been vaping now for about 7 weeks. and I am all in. Enjoy vaping and enjoy not smoking even more. when I did smoke I was rolling my own because of the cost saving, so it only makes sense to me that I should look into making my own juice.
I have been trying to buy E-Juice in larger sizes to save money, but it seems the higher quality E-juice distributors only sell in small quantity's, so I can't save money buying in bulk.
I really enjoy the RY4 flavor and I have already figured out that buying from the distributors that sell RY4 in bulk is not a good idea because the quality is not good.

So my question to all of you is how many of you actually spend the time and the research involved to make your own juice?
Because if the majority of you that have been vaping for years just buy juice and don't bother with making your own I will probably not do it. If most of you are mixing it yourself then I will have to look into making my own.

Thanks

There are many here who do make their own juices. Whether or not it is a "money" saving venture may be another thing...LOL. I think those that do find themselves enjoying the "hobby" aspect which also affords them the ability to mix their own flavoring/mixtures, etc.

I too have thought about it but quickly decided there are some companies that are expert in producing a superior product, having a line on USA vendors for raw materials. I've tried some of the "home" blends and thus far, nothing compares to some of the juices from these vendors.

Guess you'll have to decide but it is yet another facet of "to do's", keeping an area for mixing and storage.

I haven't gotten into DIY because I'm happy with the juices available from vendors. You might want to visit Madvapes for larger quantity juices. They sell 50ml bottles for around $14 and sometimes sell that size for $8.99 in China juices. You can also order sample sizes of most any of their juices for around $2. That's a good way to get a feel for what you like.

I like the Dekang 3&5 (555) from MV.

Just started making my own.
I got a 100ml bottle of mixing juice and the appropriate PG and flavour mixes
As a rough calculation i would say it should work out about half what i currently pay juice here in the UK to mix my own.
It can be a bit messy though and you need a storage space for you liquid as FreeFire pointed out.
Be careful with the concentrated nicotine juice though, you don't want to be getting a lot on your skin at 54mg strength

I am making my own. Firstly because that way I can control the flavor and how much. Secondly, I can control the nico dosage. Thirdly, I can control how much of each I make, and if I start gettting low, it sure is better than having to wait on another order. Does it save money? I think so. Hhhuum...looking at this makes me wonder if I'm a control freak!? lol!

I've been making my own for over a year. I've blogged some of the things I have learned over that time.

I didn't start it to save money, nor do I think I'm saving money. I started because I wanted specific things from my juice that I could not get with a vendor's juice and I have accomplished that.

Hopefully we'll see you in the DIY sub-forum GoochMan in the near future...

I DIY. I mainly prefer light fruit flavors with at the most 2 mixed flavors. I don't find it a mess or a hassle.

Last week I mixed 4 oz of PG/VG/nic as well as two 2 oz bottles of flavors and it took about 20 minutes total to make the equivalent of 8 30ml bottles . I like to vape unflavored sometimes, but I also use the unflavored to doctor old premade juices from when I started vaping. It's also handy, quick, and easy to have on hand to just mix some flavors in a small bottle. The two 2 oz bottles I made were both Pear. It's one of my daily vapes and is also a good mixing flavor if I decide to mix on the fly with another flavor.

I buy 100mg of nic liquid in a large bottle, have large bottles of VG and PG, and buy my flavors from TPA. Bottles of flavor will last a long time. I have never actually figured out the cost per bottle to DIY, guessing, maybe 2.00 per 30ml, and I think that's guessing too high, but don't really know.

If you like a lot of complex flavors, it might be a hassle trying to get your recipes right, mixing in small batches, testing, adjusting, and throwing away your flops. I have more of a devil may care attitude to ejuices........LOL

dearme you sound awfully familiar......like your thinking what I am.
I started DIY about a month ago and really enjoy the availability factor....if you want it........ poof you have it. Getting setup was sort of easy, I used The DIY store for my first step into DIY. After I learned how easy it was I bought bulk e-juice, glassware, glass bottles, glass eye droppers, a plethora of flavours and syringes from a variety of vendors. My nicotine is premixed as 50pg/50vg since that is what I vape, and nic free 50pg/50vg is made up in bulk and stored in glass. So when I want a bit of juice (from a proven recipe) it's a matter of 10 minutes from start to finish and that includes cleanup!

After figuring out a recipe I make 30ml bottles, label them and add them to my collection. So I have 15-16 bottles of DIY at any given time, some of these are seeping. I still purchase from juice vendors just to see what theirs taste like....if I like it I attempt to copy it :)

What is the cost? ...... Does it really matter....LOL ... It's got to be less expensive in the long run over buying vendor liquid. AND you know what your vaping!

For me there's two issues:

1) A better (but not necessarily complete) understanding of what's in my e-juice. I have food sensitivities and some juices (Even some VGs) can cause problems.
2) $$$$$

So I DIY. I buy 48 mg nic base (50% pg/50 %vg), and cut in in 1/2 to 24 mg 75/25 with PG and flavoring. Easy. Usually < $30.00 per month. Particularly if there's sales... may even be < $20.00 per month. No hives/mouth irritation either.

I never bother to label my DIY made juices. I have lots of bottles in my drawer that I made, all unlabeled. I'll smell one to see if it's what I want to vape today, and put it in a carto or tank. If I decide that, after all, it's not what I want to vape today, rather than taking it out of the tank, I just add another flavor to it, and it's usually fine.

I have about 15 1 oz DIY fruit flavors, all of which I like, plus another 10 flavors that are in the 4 oz. size. All the fruits go together so it really doesn't matter which I mix with what. Plus, I also keep 4 oz bottles of Champagne flavor and honey flavor to add even more variety to the fruits, as a lot of my mixing is done on the fly, another reason I keep a 4 oz bottle of unflavored nic/PG/VG already mixed up. Really, the only thing I pay strict attention to is working with the high nic.

I'm still pretty new to the whole deal but I've already started mixing my own juice. I was a roller when I smoked so it seems like a natural progression to do it myself. I think it's fun to try out new flavors and come up with my own recipies or modify someone else recipies to fit my wants. The initial cost to get supplies might outweigh the premade juice but in the long run I think it will be better.

I DIY becuase I can control what and how much goes into my juice. I was able to cut down on nicotine by gradually lowering the concentration by 2 mg/ml every month or two. I can also control the amount of flavor that goes into the juice as well as the PG/VG proportion. Saving money is just a bonus: I can mix my proven recipies for 8 cents or less per ml. Of course, i have wasted a lot of juice too by mixing somethings that turned out awful.

That's what I do because that's what you told me!

I only make one flavor juices, basic fruit. To be honest, even with my very simple juice I like the kind I purchase better. I must be a cook that doesn't like their own food! It's super cheap though.

I usually mix my base right away. Then it's all mixed and ready to go. I just have to add flavoring.

How much flavoring do you put in your fruit juices?
