I am looking for input on a really good authentic mod. I had a dominus #112 and real kayfun lite plus stolen from me a few months ago and I got an infinite red copper stingray clone and a black kayfun lite plus clone to hold me over until I could afford something nice as a replacement. I also have reo grand as my out and about mod, an ihybrid standard, an ihybrid pure and a few clones no longer in use.

to me the biggest difference between clones and authentic mods is really the switches. Clones in my experience need tinkering to get them to be acceptable. Authentic mods are usually great from the get go.

As you can see from my collection most things are American made, not by design, it just worked out that way. So I guess I am a little partial to them if possible but I am open to other options too. My biggest thing is the button needs to be nearly flawless. I do mostly like the side button (love the dominus and poldiac ones) but I am not opposed to a great bottom button either. I really don't weigh volt drop highly on my list as it will be used with a kayfun type atty around 0.8 to 1 ohm coils. As far as material I really don't have a preference as long as the contacts are nice, I would just let copper or brass patina naturally and stainless steel is nice too.

so far I have been looking at the dominus to replace the stolen one but as I keep looking I like other things too. I don't want to pass something up that might make me happier just because I haven't use one yet. If that make any sense.

I would like like to be able to use a hybrid adaptor with my attys.

here is what has caught my eye so far.

an upgraded dominus fecit.
gus lord or kiss
gp paps but I don't think one will be available for a while.
ember by element mods
nanos by mmv
gmts by ghost modder
4nine maybe.

i am sure I missed a few, so any opinions and/or suggestions would be nice, thank you.

I have 2 of them. Actually, the switch is a bit too 'touchy' for me. I'm fairly heavy handed, I guess. I like to feel a bit of movement when I press the switch.

I can understand how that might be the case. The button on my Paps' have virtually ZERO throw...you can practically breathe on them and the mod will fire.....I can see how it might not be the best switch for some people who prefer a bit of throw....

The MM Nanos switch is very light too; although not quite as touchy as the Paps. I like the throw of my Nemesis switches.

Thanks everyone! I will be checking into all mentioned. I got 3 to 5 business days til my bonus clears and will get what can be had at that time.

Mostly the gp paps appeals to me the most so far. So I was wondering if there is a big difference between the v3 and v2.5?

I have also been in contact with dominus mods and he might be able to give me a custom serial with my old number and a "b" suffix with it so I may go that direction too.

I have used real nemesis and the button is good but not great IMO. I think the stingray took the nemesis button and tweaked it to make it great IMO, but they are hard to get.

I probably will use the Gus mods as my back up if my other options fall thru.

Thank again everyone and keep posting suggestions and other options.

You won't regret the paps and if you do, it won't be difficult to sell or trade.

I prefer the 2.5 switch, but I haven't upgraded my v3 SS switches yet to lux(I don't believe the upgrade kit is available yet). If you would like to try a V3, Domovaporco.com will be having their vapourday very soon with both lux and SS V3 available. I'd check their site or Facebook for the details.

I also have the Gus telescopic mod,one of the earlier versions but I've bought the most recent switch for it. The Gus button is very similar to the paps with one glaring fault. If you set it down unlocked, the weight of the mod will fire the button. Great opportunity to melt insulators, ruin a battery, and possibly burn your self when you reach for it not realizing it had been firing the whole time.

The paps has the ability to be set down with out firing, due to the design of the switch.

v3 switch venting is through the switch while v2.5 vents through the body tube. You can put a v3 switch on a v2.5 tube but not recommended to put a v2.5 switch on a v3 tube because the mod will not be able to vent. Cosmetics differences too.

Brass nemesis at vaperev is still in stock. Imo their button is superior to te Ember Mod button in every way.

Dominus Fecit is nice for sure. Atmizoo roller has to be an honorable mention.

Also the 69 mod is quite popular, made by the nemesis folks. Not sure about the button but its a rather gorgeous telescoping mod. Side firing on either top or bottom, depending on user preference.
