The Chinese have cloned the Dominus. It is on fasttech, I guess it was bound to happen sooner or later.

surprised it did not happen sooner. Wow they went the full hog with it as well (lords upgrade, 18650 tube, hybrid kit, and box). I have never been one for clones, prefer to have a small collection of quality mods rather than a large collection of potential rust and dust gatherers. I wander how they went with the switch...

Finally ordered the LE button. I was about to order the hybrid cap and saw the copper tube type thingy that it comes with. Can anyone tell me what it's for?

Look inside your button. The copper tube is a replacement for the negative terminal. The thingy that is a bit springy if you push on it. Check the official homepage for guides on how best to remove it.

It is an extended negative post (longer than the one currently installed in your dominus) - sometimes you will not need to install it, as it really depends on the length of the 510 pin on your atomizer - e.g. the magma has a long 510 pin so i did not need to install it.

Anyone else have this problem? Im running diffrent types of atties all at sub ohms.. mostly .0,9 kayfun. Im running Aw18490 These builds do fine on my ss king and chi you brass. I dont feel the heat at all on these other mods, but the dominus fecit button get too hot for my pinky. Any fix to this? Im still new to the game.
Have completely disassembled ... cleaned ..... spent Noalox and continues to spark and apparently is not passing current properly

From what I can tell from the limited view of the pics I've seen, if that's a flat pin pushing against a cylindrical surface, I'm not at all surprised that it would suffer from arcing. Please correct me if the pin isn't flat, but if it is, it's pretty dang uncouth from a design standpoint.

I recently purchased a Dominus Fecit from my local B&M. It's #377 brushed metal; I upgraded to the SS Tube and Hybrid Top Cap. The Hybrid Cap makes a world of difference. I just wanted to say this is by far the best mechanical mod I have ever owned, well worth the price, and love the fact it's american made. I used a Sig-S and Rogue atty's and the both are amazing. The one pictured is Rogue.

I prefer quality over quantity as well. The description does say "magnetic switch ".
I ordered one. A dual ECF/Fasttech member has both the original and clone, and told me that all parts are interchangeable, including all switch components (which is indeed the Lorde magnetic and copper conversion). Being the penny pincher I am, I ordered the clone. But, since I also feel I owe the original mod maker his due, and because I have a serious weakness for stainless and brass mods, I also ordered the naval brass conversion kit from Dominus Mods. I tried to order the 18350 polished segment too, but it wouldn't let me check out with that in the cart, even though it said it was "in stock.". I'm seriously debating on whether I should get the Baskethilt tube as well, and finally try 26650 batteries.

If I like this mod as much as I suspect I will, I'll get a full original sooner or later. I did the same with the GP PAPS clones. Bought one, loved it, bought three more, bought authentic springs to put in them and now I own one authentic GP PAPS 2.5 Lux (serial #0304), and four more 2.5 Lux's and the only clone parts left on those are the switch housings and the top cap housings (when I bother with the top caps at all). I'd never have purchased a VapourArt product if it wasn't for the clones.

I bought a 1:1 ZNA clone by Robbot Tech, upgraded the 510 cap with authentic parts and now also own an authentic ZNA (serial #220). Also bought "authentic" hybrid adapter kits for both, and Brass Steam Monkey tubes for both. Also have the Link hybrid atomizer and a Zenisis 2 mod.

Similarly, I would have never heard of Dominus if not for the Dominus Fecit clone. Free advertising. David is lucky the clone is a 1:1 copy, as that will drive a lot of business his way from people like me, who like to make add on purchases and use clones as a "try before you buy" plan.

I'm loving the brass Hilt kit for this thing.

There's probably a few people freaking out on how to tell the clone apart from the authentic. I mean, since it's 1:1, what's to prevent scammers on eBay or ECF classifieds from ripping people off, or throwing a few authentic parts on it and doubling their money?

Simple. If you look at the bottom of this mod, with the button in the 12 o'clock position, the clone's Dominus Fecit crest logo will be upside down. On the authentic, it will be right side up.

Stay safe, and don't be fooled.

Thank you all for the helpful info in this thread.

That's strange, because I bought my Dominus Fecits (#235/#799) well over a year ago from VapeRev. What B&M did you purchase it from?

I am looking into getting one of these. I have the Manhattan by Ameravape and the Panzer mods. I like both, but the Manhattan doesn't work with all batteries and the Panzer has been having constant firing issues. I am looking for a great mech mod that will reliably hit without a lot of messing with it and the pins. I mainly use my Atlantis tank during the day, but also have a Tugboat RDA that I use daily. Do you think the Dominus is a good pick, what are some recommendations of mods?

A Dominus with a hybrid conversion or hybrid hilt, or a 4Nine are my favourites by far. I'm personally not a fan of adjusting negative or positive contact posts, or of having to unlock and lock a bottom fire button every time I pick a mod up to vape and put it down. The Praxis and SMPL are good mods as well.
