I have not actually experimented with the order in which I add things. I always add the my nic first, mainly to get it out of the way so I can cap it back up and stow it away again. Then I add my VG and/or PG. Then I add my flavoring. It works for me, but this question makes me curious.

I would like to hear if anyone gets different results, for better or for worse, from mixing up the order in which they add things.

I always do it: Nic, flavor, water and/or PGA (if needed), and finally PG or VG to bring to the desired total.

The nic part needs to be measured accurately, so I put that into the graduated cylinder up to my calculated level. Add the flavor, it's not super critical as far as accuracy, just put in about the right amount. Then fill to the final amount with PG and or VG and distilled water/alcohol if desired. Without mixing, pour everything into the bottle or vial, cap and shake like crazy.

It really does not matter what order you put them in the bottle so long as they all equal the total you are shooting for when combined. I always add flavoring and no nic components in first. That way if I overshot my target ml I can always increase my nic mg to compensate. Accruacy as Mountain Dude said is critical for a consistant product you can duplicate over and over. But once they are all in the bottle you going to shake the heck out of them to mix so it really does not matter IMHO.

Hi all,,

I have a pretty simple question for you guys who are good at this and maybe you can help me out on this simple one question... I buy unflavored 48mg or menthol 48mg usually to make up my mixes of what I enjoy, and use both formula calculators that have been given to download on this site to make my mix's, however when it comes to PG and VG and it tells me to add so many ml's or drops of either one how do I know exactly because the juice we are all buying is already cut with either a PG or VG or both in base of the juice we buy,, so wouldnt this formula we are all using then up that amount of our PG or VG count because the juice we are all buying already has one or the other or both PG VG already in it as a base..???

Shemp I appreciate your statement and please don't take this the wrong way OK, but,,,,

I think you have to consider the base nicotine to get a real count on your MG simply because there is souch a small amount of actual nicotine in the stuff we purchase. Therefor I'm still looking for a qualified answer to this question from someone who is a master in the art of mixing,(PLEASE) I know your out there??? someone please

Thank You

That counts separately.

To get 24mg you'd want one part of your 48mg and one part everything else (flavors, distilled water, PGA, PG, VG, whatever). (48mg + 0mg) / 2 parts = 24mg

2 parts everything else and 1 part 48mg: (48 + 0 + 0) / 3 = 16mg

2 parts 48mg base and 1 part everything else: (48 + 48 + 0) / 3 = 32mg

3 parts everything else and 1 part 48mg: (48 + 0 + 0 + 0) / 4 = 12mg

You can work out other strengths similarly.
