My first impressions after almost a day.
Opened the box and first thing that went through my mind was, "Did I order the Mini?" This thing is way smaller than i expected, maybe all you REOnauts have carnie hands because i was expecting it to be bigger, I love that it isn't though. The craftsmanship is perfect, everything fits and functions beautifully, I don't have any of the door rattle. I'm more then happy.
I rolled up a 2.0 coil, not a micro yet, i just had to get it going, on some of the infamous rolled cotton. It's been exceeding my expectations and that is on some no name imr's, not sure i'm ready for a micro coil on AW IMR's, but I anxiously await them. Tonight i will try my hand at a true micro coil and seriously dive in to the world that is REOVille.
I want to thank all the REOnauts who answered my question and helped me get to this point, I'm sure i will have plenty more to ask.
Why didn't i do this first?:vapor:

I just bought a pack of Marlboro's in the red box--I smoked 2-3/day for decades. My wife freaked when she saw them! I promised her I won't pull the cellophane off and they're only a prop for some REO size comparison pictures. I know there are some on-line, but they aren't reds. :) I think it's the ideal perspective for a REO. I'll give them to her brother who refuses to vape when done.

eta: My tumbled aluminum did have the door rattle, cured with a strip of packing tape. I suspect that was the case for anodized ones. The powercoated one doesn't... seems the extra thickness solves it.

Interesting...my tumbled doesn't rattle at all. Swapped doors with my cube mate and neither of ours rattled. Just swapped doors with my tumbled and copper vein (which arrived two hours ago....woot!) and the tumbled door is even a tighter fit. Wonder if they're milled differently?

The anodized ones may have looser doors. If I remember right, some folks like them loose to schlick (flick them up and let the magnet catch them - much like flipping a Zippo lighter lid). My 2 anodized were loose like that, and I preferred a tighter fit. Rob said to just lay the door along something solid, let it hang off the edge about halfway and apply a bit of gentle pressure. I did that and it bowed it ever so slightly so the doors fit more snuggly. I'm not a schlicker. :D

I wouldn't want to try that with a powder coated door tho. Not sure if it would damage the finish. My VVGrand has a sparkly door and it fits fairly snuggly, no schlicking ability.

I wonder if you used a thick towel with the powder coated door maybe it would be ok?

I don't know. I'd want to know what Rob suggests if someone has a looser door than they'd like that's powder coated.

I really can't remember if anyone with a PC door even has that because of the extra thickness from the paint.

First rule of vaping, everything is smaller than it appears on the internet!

^^^^^This. Until I got my Grand I thought it was much bigger than it turned out to be. The credit card comparison should have convinced me of the relative size, but for some reason holding it in my hand made a huge difference in perception.

to make things worse, i found the comparison pics confusing. in one pic the Grand looked small; in the next pic it looked huge. it's weird.

so i decided to get one of everything. problem solved. :)

I used to flick my grand, now I rub my wood one.
I hear that will make you go blind.

Got home and built a micro. Its not pretty, just saying, but looks like 7 wraps 30 awg around 1/16 bit, 1.2 ohm. Noticeable difference.
I will improve.
In was also thoroughly surprised that hitting it hard all day at work only dropped my battery to 3.8v. I thought it would be lower.

I think Rob called it schlicking. If not, someone will correct me. :)

Yup, then I'm a schlicker too. Great name, that's the sound mine make.

I was going to say this is a family oriented forum but it can't be, everyone should be adults here. But oddly there are still censors here. Good thing you didn't post a video! ;)
