Got my origen in early this week but just got a build on it today...i think it came in way too low for this size atomizer...somewhere like a .60 and it just rips far too quickly for an enjoyable pull...anyway, never saw a need for vertical coils and saw that many felt the same way regarding both origen dropper versions. The only other issue I have is the well that kind of seems to waste juice but that just be that I'm angry because I just happened to waste juice because the build doesn't work for me.

Curious about the experience others have had...I'm usually between .55 and .80...sometimes lower but I use the cyclone afc combo about 80% of the time, rm2 about 15, and then just misc...I will put every effort into the origen as it's not like anything else I use and I was never a fan of dripping...

So these coils were screwed with over and over just to get an impression for future course of action...first it was much too far from air hole as I think I was too worried about the well and creating some sort of wicking ability...moved them away but it may have been too little..

I'm very curious as well. I just got mine a few days ago but only looked at it closely and put it away until the weekend. By the looks of it I will be trying vertical 28/7 wraps with either solid ekowool 2mm or cotton.. I'm thinking .9- 1.0 will be sweet but I'm open to other ideas.

I am using one of two builds in them - both with Kanthal A1, vertical micro coil and cotton:

- 2x 4x0.25mm (AWG 30) around 2mm - very quick to heat up, best flavor because the coil is so tiny that the air hits all of it - results in around 0,5 ohm total
- 2x 7x0,35mm (~AWG 27) around 2mm - larger coil, less wire wasted on "legs", more stable coil - results in around the same 0.5 ohms.

I am usually at 2x2mm air holes, lung inhaling.
Both coil types are just what I use and like in single coils, e.g. the RM2, just doubled.

I am using the vertical builds because they appear to just work better and have less wasted "leg" length.

Don't stuff the cotton into the well(s) - just put a bit fluff there to avoid spillage.

Mine should be coming today and I am really looking forward to some vertical coil action. I am gonna run top fed first, I have the bf kit coming with it, to see if I like building on it and if that center post is gonna be a PITA or not. Interesting to see the diff builds here. I think I might try some dual 26 or 24, 1/8 macros, as I have had really good results from them at around .25 -.3.

oddly, when I took a pull this morning, it is an entirely different device. Mind you I am type of person that reads 'let soak for 3 hours' and dabs some juice on and waits maybe 90 secs...this goes for wicks and also except for 5% of the time, for "must let steep"...and if there are improvements, I find it marginal enough that I'll let it improve while I use it! .. and with something that I use as an absolute constant, like readywick, where the MO is to let soak or that the first hits are dry/weird/etc, I have always found the result beneficial but not the difference between function and non...and that often, these added wait periods tend to disappear from the various recommendations as time goes on...boiling cottom, burning ceramic wick that has been treated at a temp 6 times that, etc...and for something that is awful at the outset, I've never had it become anything more than bearable after any wait period.

...yet that is exactly the case with the origen...same build as above...about 8 wraps 1/16 28g with 2mm readywick...obviously horizontal and with the wicks dropping into the well (because i used an rsst for 2 hours before breaking it once and never again pursued a mechanical tank setup so this was a blind guess) ...and the result is mind boggling. the hit comes on a bit quick for my liking but that also could be as a result of not using 28g without twisting for a couple of months now...never been a huge 'taste' guy as I use the same flavor with maybe a few drops of a little something else...this never stops me from continuously trying again every few months with a huge juice purchasing binge...so im still in the process of trying some new juice...I either tend to enjoy a company's product or not...I have not been succesful with going by flavors and trying it from everywhere. So, with a lot of juice recently tested, I've been running them through here and the taste really is magnified in a specific way. I don't all of a sudden love flavors I hated, but it makes for an exciting development and just an overall different vape experience.

REOs have made my desire to switch flavors all but disappear...since the vaping consistency is so high, I don't really want to go through the process of switching and cleaning and making a mess every time...my go to is by Axiom called "Giant Cloud Rat"...which is 93% VG and a smooth, light, but thick flavor...they call it a custard blend but for me itd be more like an extremely light sugar cookie...the benefit is that just a couple drops of most any other flavor works superbly with it and changes it ever so slightly...so I have 6 active reos...4 have the giant cloud rat with a couple drops of something all sporting a cyclone/afc with various builds... 5th is an ry4 in an rm2 on my woodvil, also by axiom that I also love but its very aromatic and my employees love to find reasons to complain as it is and on 6 I currently have a cyclone dripper/with a fusion drip for my recent juice test...bottom line is that the origen is not like any of these, not even close. I'm not suggesting its better but just being so different makes it hard to not want to taste the difference in everything. I suppose the good part is I ran through 3ml in like 2 hours easy.

I can't wait to try other builds but with this unexpected change, this will stay for some time, and this may help for others who are impatient like I am...or don't want to throw on a coil style they don't have a previous frame of reference for..

Enjoy!!!

Curious if you had images of the vertical builds on the bf origen...I find dripping to be quite straightforward as far as placement goes, just get your coil wet....but squonking is always a little bit of guess work for me at first, particularly with how the wick, coil, and height of juice hole will interact. If possible, I'd love to see where exacty you have the best luck with a vertical build in relation to the post and point of delivery...Id imagine far less wiggle room for placement just on the basis of less surface area at the point of delivery for the juice to hit and then wick up

Just finished mine a bit ago. I had to fiddle with the coil height and air hole but it is doing ok now. It does eat the juice…I do not think it vapes as good as my RM2 or cyclone but it is ok. I had one sitting in my drawer so ordered the BF kit and now I have a weapon and REO in one handy throat thrashing monster.

It comes in at .76 dual 12 wraps 28ga 1/16 with RxW

I will try to find some time for pics on the weekend.
I use basically the same build for dripping (on my V1s) and bottom feeding (on the V2s). The juice feeds out of the center pin, at roughly the height of the coils, so I put a bit of wicking material from the top of the coils to the bottom of the lower center post nut to catch that fresh juice. That wick also covers the upper "legs" of the coils.
It doesn't look pretty, but I am building for taste, not looks =)

Feeding juice is completely different with the Origen compared to a RM2. Instead of a squonk every pull you can go to ten pulls without squonking - but the quality of the vape will slowly degrade. So I actually squonk a lot, maybe every third pull.

Curious to see what everyone else is running on their Origen V2. My build suits my vape preference, full flavor with decent vapor on a short drag. The first build I put in the Origen when I received it was a dual vertical 24ga 6 turns/7 wraps 1/16th ID metered at .20Ω I liked this build but I was worried the 24ga would burn through the organic cotton wick with continuous use (chain vaping) so I tore that out after a week.

Fresh build as of last night, dual vertical 24ga 7 turns/8 wraps 5/64th ID metered out to 0.20Ω (shorter legs on this coil, I think I am getting used to building on this RDA)

IMG_20140605_212201_899_zpsffecc612.jpg

After one day of use. I think the next time I rebuild I will use some 26ga and keep the number of wraps. Rebuilding is a lot different than standard RDAs but I actually like how secure it holds the Kanthal, I am always check the post screws on my other RDAs.

Annnnnnnd a lil vapor production:

New e-liquid, new build. I had been using a 26ga around a 5/64th drill bit and it did well to cool down the vape but still produce great flavor and vapor but something keeps making me grab the 24ga when I am rebuilding.

24ga dual vertical micro coils 8 turns/ 8.5 wraps 1/16th ID metered @ 0.24Ω
