Now that's a really super idea, ob! I can't believe I didn't think of that! Lol

Thx

-sent from my AYS

no problem my friend. I wish I had come up with this on my own, but sadly I did not. I did this on one of mine so far, and it worked well.

word of caution though. I have more than one of these, and the caps must not all be the same size. I sanded one tank, and attempted to put a different cap on there, and it did not line up.

good luck!

I am in the process of trying to sand the glass ones. It takes FOREVER!

The threads are different from unit to unit so each tank must be "customized". Using a file helps it go faster when you have a lot of material to sand down, but be careful to maintain shape. I prefer o-rings myself for a tighter fit. I agree that the 2.1s put out massive vapor. The wicking also seems to be superior as compared to others. I actually prefer my stock 2.1 to my stock Zen in all aspects except the switch and the size of the tank. Wish Les would offer a mechanical option with a 4ml tank on these. Also, they are a little tougher to wrap because of size, but you'll get used to it and wrapping the coil with the mesh uninstall definitely makes it easier.

The best way I have found to sand the tank down is take a piece of 60 or 80 grit sand paper lay it on a flat surface and while puting a little pressure on the tank sand in circular motion. This way you will have a even sanded tank every time. Also when checking for air hole alignment do it with out the tank orings installed makes it realy easy.

Common belief is that the stock Orion doesn't vapor as big as other mods. BULL, this 2.1 is blowing everthing away, huge thick clouds. Lovin it more everyday.

Concur 100%. Mine is kicking as much vapor as my Z-atty-G here and it is not modded. I gotta admit though, the ZAG is doing pretty good here for me also and I like it a lot. I enjoy having the different draw on them for varying things up some, and flavor intensity varies along with it. Some flavors, well I don't want so intense... and some I do.

Another device would be great. Just don't change this one.
I have been campaigning pretty darned hard for him to make another mechanical device. ;-)

Just remember that the great wicking is due in part to the smaller tank size. I'm not certain he would sacrifice performance. Time will have to bare that out. Filling is quick and easy to me.

Guys, tried the 3/4 coils. Even went up to 6 coils. I can't taste the sweetness in bobas. And i've been getting hot spots. Any ideas?

Do a turn and burn for 20 seconds then check for hot spots usualy if I do a couple turn and buns it builds up enough carbon on the coil to get rid of hot spots

Hey ob, I use Jack's, works great every time. I haven't had any noticeable drop in flavor with any gennie, but if I did I would just recoil so I get a clean burn. I usually change mine once a week.
I am curious how most here are oxidizing their wicks?
1) traditional method?
2) jack frost?
3) a combination of both?
4) something else?

When you notice a drop in flavor, how do you go about fixing it?

and you do this without burning the juice on there at all?

I am currently experimenting with several methods.

I roll the wick with a 3mm bent edge to eliminate frays.
Torch till red 20sec, quench...3x
Dip & burn PG....3x

I don't think the oxidation method is as important as how you roll the coil. The least amount of futzing is best. My worst results are from when I tried to make it look pretty, & ended up scraping the soot off of the wick.

Adjust airhole on top cap w/the smaller supplied O-ring

The Orion has the same setup (pole, mesh, lower nut placement) as the Zenisis and the DID, so I dont understand how it could be more difficult to setup.

I think more what people are saying as far as it being more difficult to setup is that it is a bit of a bear on shorts, if you are not very good at making wicks then it will short very easily.

One easy trick to do this is to out a wrap of Teflon tape around the wick where it goes through the body of the Orion. I read this somewhere I. UKV a long time ago and tried it recently. It works quite well and you don't have to drill it out for a Teflon insert that way ;).

Hmm, maybe the other wick hole would yield better results for ya if u tried that one. :D Give it a shot tomorrow after u slept it off a bit!

I don't use the o-ring, I just sand the tank down a little bit till it lines up to a hole and put my wick into the hole that is lined up. Looks so much cleaner without a gap between the cap and the tank :)
