I was brainstorming a little concerning the pocket friendliness of the orion. I am no engineer, but more of a dreamer...

What about a cap which has the same shape as the top cap and the tank, will slide over, has some sort of padding and a plug for the top that can be popped on and off easy to close the holes. That way it will look like a straight tube, will not leak and be pocket and bag friendly.........

I keep mine in my pocket and lay it down on the couch all day. It is completely leak proof when lying down. I posted how with a pic a little earlier in this thread.

I had thought about something similar, but instead of going on top of the top cap/tank, it would be designed so that partially unscrewing the top cap would block the airhole from behind with a thin wall extending out of the body and upwards.

What does the twisting do to the resistance? I am sure a tight twist would be different than a looser one ....

blu - read on another site that twisted coils will considerably lower the atty's resistance; haven't had a chance to try it yet but lately i am a little more mesmerized by the 10ml juice/orion top-cap switcheroo...

I can attest that a 3.5 turn twisted coil w/ the wire Les gave us (.17mm) will be roughly 1.3ohms. It's best to do w/ a thinner gauge like the wire he gave us, or thinner. I'll probably add another wrap next time as that runs a little too hot for the batts.

PS. I tried this on my ZAP first, not Orion. My Orion coil is still holding up as is.

Twisted coils are like DC attys. Things I notice:
Vape is not harsh, actually mellow & rich at 1.0 ohm.
Vapor production greatly increased.
Short drags work better. No need to take a 5-6 second draw.
Reduced battery life if you don't adjust the draw. Otherwise comperable.
Flavor is different. Can't say more, just different.

It's just penny's worth of wire, give it a go!

Ive been afraid to do this. I might have to give it a shot at some point.

emonty - not yet.
I am going to go to the craft store to find the cotton thread, and try it when I need to change a coil.
Everything is running really well right now, so I hate to fiddle it to a early death.

same here, just cleaned my tank and my setup is performing perfect!!! The flavor is a dream, why fiddle lol. Also the bluegrass method with cotton look good but hell it works great why bother. No shorts if you do it right, the workarounds are ok if you can´t get it to work, but I rather use less as possible, mesh and coil and vape!! Even VV I don´t miss, if setup right, the less electronics etc the better, I love my Orion...never thought I would like a non VV PV again, but it is here and it stays and I will get another!!
