based on my needs and financial situation, i am going to stay put for the time being. If The VK1 gets released in the near future, thats what I will get for sure. If not, I will grab the latest Super T. After everything I read, that seems to be the one which fits my needs the most.

I've made a few commitments that I need to fill, but in a larger view - we'll see. Bigger things are afoot. :D

I just need time to spend in the shop! I think it will be stainless instead of Ti, Ti is such a pain to machine and I'm not sure this niche market will want to pay for that.

what about a really sturdy lanyard until you settle on something? that seems like the *easiest* solution, if the XLs last ya long enough... or does your usual work get up allow for a lanyard?

I have the lanyard, but things around my neck doing a lot of the things I do isn't always a good idea!

Saw-sent you a pm. Just something to check out.

This I am considering! Thank you! It's about the size of my Novatac 120P flashlight, it's nice and pocketable, LOVE the switch!

I say AdapteveR -- tough as NAILS! (Maybe PM Skyycamel, for some guy talk about it!) I've ended up with two, since this is the kind of mod you marry lol. Built with all-mechanical parts, and has common user-replaceable parts that can be found at any electronics store, a big plus.

Can get additional connector tip ('insert') styles if desired, not locked into just one. Does have an end button, which I like just fine, and of course helps facilitate the great features above. Not known for going off in pockets, however if you want to cover the end for good measure, a "lighter leash" fits great. It's a rubber cap thingy with clip-on cord (that you can remove if you want) normally used for keeping a bic handy. Got mine at amazon, but can be found at many convenience stores and gas stations. Can see a few style examples at lighterleash.com.

Can get a sleeve for 6V vaping with the AdapteveR if you want, including one that takes protected batts. That's what I use and love. (As a 'treat' tho -- I discipline myself to use 3.7V most of the time. ;)) Cartos at 6V don't taste harsh or burned, the way some feel standard atties do, myself included.

Search by AdapteveR, you'll find lots. (There's always adaptever.com too, but there's more to be found on forums.) Been around a long time as these things go, with a great rep for quality and toughness. Just not as much buzz since the guy who builds them (posting name "WhateveR," real name Thad) doesn't have his own forum here. (Tidbit, he posted on another forum that he's in process of designing a new mod now... Hmmm, I'll be watching, tho I think I gots me enough mods already and I do feel plenty 'fulfilled' lol!)

FYI, great deals can be found on most mods in the classifieds here from established members, some who 'chronically' buy sell and trade so they get to try everything. Well, good luck!

P.S.: There are adapters to make all mods/batt connector styles work with cartos. A 901 tip may not necessarily work with cartos out-of-box; altho they may screw together fine, the holes/slotting won't necessarily be correct. Ask the modder, or some adapt 901 tips themselves if not carto-ready. Myself, I didn't like how cartos vaped on a 901 tip via adapter, tho maybe it was the adapter itself. Choices seemed to be either all air or no flow at all, but I think that's what Skyycamel uses so dunno. I like 510 tip and carto adapter. At first seemed airy, but once I realized the adapter's center section moves I got the hang of it and it's great now.

somewhere out there......
if you want durable and resessed I would go with the BB (14500 900mah) from altsmoke.com a tank could drive over it and you could just dust it off and start vaping... another is the GG grant (14500 900 mah). It has a lockable button so no firing in pocket. Super 6 (14500 900 mah) but it doesn't have a lockable button or resessed button. A chamealon (cr123 900mah) is a nice choice from Ikenvape.... all of these mods can be used with protected batteries. I have all of these eccept grant but I do have the GGTS. but all of these are very nice and very well built.

Well I am liking the Chameleon a LOT! Been talking with them and I like him even, which is important in this to me as well. He even threw out some other suggestions, which I quickly explained wouldn't work!
It also gives me a chance to upgrade the batteries with for my Novatac at the same time, I can up it from the 3 volt rechargables to 3.7 volt rechargables and throw AW some more business!
Then when the VK1 comes out I can give an honest comparison! Everybody wins!

I'm soooo thinking about the GG Telescopic. Love that it's supposed to be "indestructible." Good thing they're out of stock. There are so many, I haven't had a chance to organize them yet. So far here's the breakdown of elements that I've seen:
1. voltage & variability
2. batteries/battery life
3. carto and atty compatibility

What else is there? Other than aesthetics?

It would be so much easier if this rumored vk1 would just roll on out!

Saw- I think you'll really like the Chameleon. The encapsulated switch, the 1 year warranty on the switch, it's also recessed-no misfires. Scratch resistant. 3 adapters, 901-801-510, cartos with the 901. The adapters fit so snug into the unit-no movement. Additional purchase of a 6v body, soon to have a 5v usb body. Easy at 3.7v to conceal. It's circumference is just under the circumference of a nickle! I have really enjoyed having mine. Battery life is all day. When I get up in the mornings I put yesterdays bat in the charger and load up a fresh one into my pv. In about 45 minutes the battery is charged. The initial charge is what takes the longest. I like not having to leave batteries charging over night. The orings allow you to be able to use different bat brands as some are shorter and some are longer, which can be frustrating. Good Luck and hope you enjoy whichever mod you decide on purchasing.

I want to order it Tina, but he's out of protected 16340 and 123A batts right now! I don't want to run unprotected cells, and my finances don't leave enough room to order from another supplier right now! I sent an email asking about when he plans on getting some in and will go from there.
I'm not worried about HV really, I just don't want to worry if I drop it or get it wet! This thing gets wet I just throw it in the oven and dry it off! It's awsome for me!
