Oh MaryKay, I didn't know your hubby was in the hospital!! I am so sorry!

I'll be gathering with my usual crowd, and expect the food to be the usual (not counting finger foods etc.): Grandfather's authentic homemade Texas Chili (whatever you do, do not ask "Where are the beans?" -- unless you want a half-hour rant about how REAL chili NEVER has beans in it!); Fritos, guacamole, sour cream, shredded jack, cilantro, and chopped onion, to use with the Chili for an original "Fritos Taco"; and the last batch of Grandfather's homemade Eggnog (famous city-wide; the last cup of which Officially Ends the Holiday Season).

Hope everybody enjoys the game! :)

I'd totally forgotten the game was tomorrow...thought it was next week <sigh> Oldtimer's Syndorme :p

So, I'm not watching it...doing laundry and ironing...coughing...reading...cleaning...coughing...and more coughing :) Everything is so dry here...humidifiers are working overtime (which is NOT what the football game will have, trust me!)

As for food...definitely *not* pizza as I've ranted about in another thread :p So, it'll be whatever the mood takes me too and is open and quiet and no TVs allowed :) However, I wouldn't mind hopping on a plane and joining Eleanor...I love "chili pie," which is just chili with Fritos :) I was stunned when I moved from Kansas to Kentucky and found they put not only BEANS in their chili but also spaghetti :p

I have a favorite team but not really the time to watch ;) Hope everyone enjoys the game...and that you are all winners :)

Do not care about football and my husband will most likely be watching. Unfortunately I cut off the cable to the downstairs TV. Stupid. Maybe I'll rent a movie or watch something I already own. It's so cold downstairs though!
Kanza, where in Kansas are you that they put spaghetti in chili? Beans always go in chili, but spaghetti?

Ok I misread it. I even went back to make sure and misread it again. Obviously it was very late and I should have been in bed.

I make my chili with three kinds of beans. But then again I'm a vegetarian. I do put fake meat in it though. When I was a kid and my mom made it she always put beans in it. Otherwise it's just... Meat soup. Gross.
