now, if I can only remember how to embed the video... Nope... cant recall how to do that, so here is a link.

Very cool to hear of the thriving scene in Phoenix. The wife and I have a place in Scottsdale that we get to as often as we can - nothing better than sitting out on a moonlit night in December, NOT freezing my ... off.
Any meets going on the week between Christmas and New Years? We're looking to see if we can swing getting a trip in.

Great vid John. Great to meet ya. I spent many a year walking commercial job sites as the GC PM and the sprinkler guys were always some of the coolest guys in site. They know their stuff and could run a lift right thru a 3' wide opening in a metal door frame and only dent one side of it and blame it on the electricians
They cleaned up their area (after we busted their Ayusses enough) and always sealed their penetrations too ( as the inspector pointed them out
) But among the coolest guys on the job. You definitely seem like one of them bro. Thanks for the vid and core below the beam please

I don't make video's, so not really a game player in this thread. Can offer a vid and pics that are somewhat personal though... but only slightly on topic, and even then only if you turn your head just right.
Vid is of my son's first flight with his new DJI Phantom 2 Vision+ last summer. It was his first time at the controls, so done in an uninteresting flood water catch basin to lessen the chance of crashing the quadcopter (he was around $2K into it and it's gear, more now).

He's made more video's, set them to music, but all are on the desert and in desert canyons.
We took it up into the Spring Mountains to near 9,000' for a day to get better scenery shots, but the wind was gusting past the maximum it can fly in. We tried anyway.... but it couldn't handle it for long as the hardest gusts took all control of the copter away. A not too serious appearing crash landing was still enough to bend the expensive gimbal the camera hangs from, break some rotors and destroy a $130 battery pack. We had spare rotors and batt packs along, but the bent gimbal eliminated using the camera. So instead we went scouting for other high mountain fly sites for another day. I later helped him repair the gimbal, but the rotors and batt pack were a total loss.
Pic of it fighting the wind that day, having a hard time gaining altitude. Another from the on board camera when he picked it up after the crash landing. That one caught me taking a vape... so makes it on topic, sort of (I hadn't bought any of my 9 Reos yet).

That thing is cool spydro . Nice try though. Now you need to have him hover that bad boy in front of you while you rip your REO and like flip us off or something. Or one where he tries to keep up with you as you shred that place on your CRF450R.

Nevada is over 110K sq mi, and most of it that you could ride a dirt bike/ATV in legally. I sold the last of my street and dirt bikes, the ATV's as well in 1990... and just stayed with the 4X4 trucks until about 10 years ago.
This quadcopter (with it's add-ons) can fly up to about 2.5 miles away and about 3500' high. Then if you choose to (or you loose control of it) it will return to the exact spot it took off from by itself and land itself. Technology has come a long ways from the control line planes I started flying in the mid 50's, or the RC gas cars I built for my son from the early-mid 80's.
