OVALE eVic !!! is this the future of vaping???

Not really off topic since we are discussing what was pulled from the manual of the eVic.

One has to have complete knowledge of the language, (or rangarage) they are translating. I worked for the Japanese, and had to rewrite safety manuals before they were printed. I learned conversational Japanese, but that was not enough. Sometimes I would say something in Japanese, and they would laugh! I would have to ask, "what did I just say"? One time, it made my face turn red.

I've often suspected that there were no people involved in the translation and that it was done by computer translation programs. OTOH, although I can proof-read English, I certainly can't translate Mandarin to anything, and I certainly wouldn't do it for 7 cents an hour if I could! Proof reading for a technical manual is nearly impossible because you would have to understand the operation of the product before you could clarify the language. Manuals also (in most countries) carry legal implications and liabilities. I know the Health Cabin Forum often accepts suggestions of how to clarify their descriptions or instructions.

In the meantime, if your picnic table kit ends up looking like a swing set, Relax, Enjoy!

No. This morning i got an email saying they ship it today.
On their site they mention that it arrived last week Friday at theirs, and they ship it to their customers on Monday. So i'm expecting it somewhere around Wednesday this week.
Maybe they are released sooner in the EU? I don't know.

I've seen the pre-order price of $109.20 (odd price, for sure) for the JoyeTech eVic. From what I can tell, Ovale is just JoyeTech USA. I have not researched, so I could be off by 180 degrees ;-)

I like that it has a removable battery, comes w/a Samsung ICR 18650 rated @2,600mAh. I'd like to see it live up to that mAh rating... Pretty cool that it's variable voltage AND wattage. I also like how we can use a simple eGo-C atty and tank, or plug in any of the tons of other 510 cartos, clearos, etc, etc...

Looks pretty cool, I'm definitely getting one. But, I'm still asking for a ProVari for Christmas, and I'll buy one myself if I don't get it as a gift. This eVic doesn't change my mind at all about getting my first ProVape ProVari V2, Black Satin, blue LED and of course the atty to match, gotta have that baby.

No wonder all JoyeTech outlets have this rhetoric:

"We are very sorry that Korea, Italy, Thailand customers can not order Joyetech eVic, please do not order it, or we will cancel your order without notice!"

Didn't JoyEtech create this device? They show as owning the software license for it and the firmware chip ownership...

Oh, one last thing on this and once I find the release about it I will post it. Imposter devices will not be able to register their ecig devices with the joyetech server, where you authenticate the device for software updates, and will be stuck unless someone can hack the software. They are trying to keep companies from stealing the design and calling it a joyetech device.

Will have to track it down, saw it last week when I did a pre-order for the joye evic. The announcement of the serial numbers being registered in their systems is listed in this link.

IDK bout ya'll but it looks cool. I think I'll wait till there's some more ppl out there that have had revies of it before I buy one for me or the wife.....IDK if'n I'll get one for me, but her, sure......I love my zmax. But the ability to see how much you've vaped a day, and track it with 'real' numbers does appeal to the geek in me.........crap i might have talked myself into on as a secondary unit.......

Does anyone know if the Evic has a Low Ohm cut off?

I just got a Zmax and it turns out I can't run any atty below 1.5 (I think) but then I rebuilt my RBA to around 1.7 and it still said the Ohms were too low.

But enough about the Zmax. I would like to know about how low of ohms the Evic will allow. I downloaded and read the Evic manual but it either didn't say, or I couldn't find this info in there.

Well, it takes a standard 18650, this is good, $140 for the kit, Meh, not so good. "New revision coming soon!" (They really act excited about it too!) Bit of a red flag there! $105 and you can buy the body and the head, a little better.
I'm still interested, but reserved a bit.

So the 16850 in the picture looks protected... does that mean an IMR is out? I have lots of cash invested in IMR's right now...lol. would have to have to replace the stash.

My question would be, why do you want low Ω? Low resistance requires low voltage, or you can blow your coil. The Provari also has a low Ω cut-off. I thought the advantage of a ZMax is to be able to use higher voltage, and therefore higher Ω coils.

The Samsung 18650 that comes with it seems to be unprotected. So assuming there is a protection function available.
