News about upcoming Firmware 2.0 :
-"Multi-languages"
-"auto/manual model"
-"atomizer resistance memory"
-"VW editable timeline pulsation"
Based on this "VW editable timeline pulsation" thing, this will be similar to the Janty MID.
But I still don't see amp limit increasing in the Firmware 2.0 version.
To me it seems like the amp limit will stay as it is. It seems like it's not something to be adjusted by firmware.
Maybe later they'll release eVic 2.0 (not firmware, I mean device 2.0) and we'll have to pay another 100 bucks to get a higher amp limit device. That's how it always works in the e-cig business isn't it?
BTW what the heck is "atomizer resistance memory"? The MVR already stores the resistance of the used atomizers as far as I know.
Maybe it's a function to auto-adjust voltage/wattage?
For example:
You can store 4.0V for 1.5 Ohm atties
Or you can store 8W for 2 Ohm atties?
It's not a bad idea in my opion.
But how about storing pre-set voltage or wattage settings for different atomizers types? (RBAs, Silica atties, Genesis atties, Clearomizers...) That would be much better in my opinion.

Heh, I hadn't seen this thread until now. Looking at the first couple responses on the first page made me laugh. How does everyone feel about this device now, after seeing all the reviews.
Pretty laughable in my eyes. If they would have just let the device go up to 6 volts instead of 5 it would be a different story I think.

The new firmware took care of all of my complaints, Happy Camper here. I vape at low Wattage as all my juices burn if you crank them up so amp and volt limitations are not a concern at all. It will be interesting to see 2.0, being able to change firmware saved the day, to bad Zmaxx V1 couldn't have been fixed so easily.
Upgraded to 1.1 this morning. Seems to be working well. I like the adjustable voltage/wattage from the work screen. Exactly what I needed. I see the device is hardware limited to 11A. Not a problem for me.
Now.. lose the puff counter and show the resistance and battery firing voltage on the main work screen!

Now the eVic is more like a VW device. This v1.1 upgrade is already much better. Some more tweaking needed towards V2.0 though...

Posted this in another thread, will post again for input/ideas:
1) Ok, weird thing. At first when i updated the software to 1.1, I couldnt go past 8.9W on my 2.8ohms atty. Then, for reasons unknown, I could go up to 11 W. "cool", I thought to myself, "just a little glitch, no problem". Then, i try to change the atomizer on top, and boom, i'm stuck to 8.9W again. huuum....
I put back the original atty (the one who allowed me to go up to 11W), and i'm STILL stucked at 8.9.
2)The madness continues! If I re-plug my evic on my computer and re-upgrade it, I can go to 11Watts no problem. If i unscrew the atty again and put it back on, i get the 8.9W limitation again.
After speaking with my good friend/vendor, I think that this is a little glitch, and that the amp limitation can and will be upgraded, but not on this particular version. Since I can get to 11W on my 2.8ohms carto (but then can't if i unscrew the carto and let the evic actually read it's resistance), that leads me to believe this will be fixed in a new update. This is weird X 2

Voltage is still wildly unstable....
Set for 6.4 watts I've seen voltages from 3.5 to 4.3 on a 3.0 ohm carto.

Technically you can't run that wattage, with that resistance on that unit. It's limited at 5v, unless the firmware upped the voltage? 2.8 ohms at 11 watts is 5.5v, over the 5v limit. It's resorting back to the 8.9 setting because that is 4.99999v, as high as it's supposed to go.
You aren't hitting the current limit, but the voltage limit of the unit.
it feels stronger hitting it when the screen displays 10.5W though, so thats what i find weird.
edit: yeah it hits harder at 11w for sure. Just the crackling of the carto is way more intense
