I am so lucky that my local (well, somewhat local at 45 minutes away) vape shop has comparable prices to typical online prices for most products.

The Mini ProTank 2 is $14.99.

My MVP 2.0 kit (2x iClear 16 version) was $55, my iTaste VV 3.0 express kit (only comes with the charging cable) was $35.

All of their juices (The Vapor Chef, five pawns, Suicide Bunny, DB Liquids, Gremlin juice, Jameson/Jackson) cost the same as directly from the manufacturers.

Mechanical mods, RBA's, RDA's, wick, wire, 18650 / 18350 batteries, chargers, etc. all are like typical online prices.

It's great!

These threads always make me smile....
In the UK the prices i see people complaining about here would be considered cheap.
In general we pay 50-100% more for all vape gear than those in the USA pay. A typical price for a Protank (mk 1) would be $25. Juice is anything from $10-$25 per 30ml. That's on-line. B&M would be 50% higher than that.
I agree that shops have to cover overheads but the way round that it is to buy in bulk and shift units. Alternatively a retailer needs to specialize or provide a service not available locally.
If the demand for the product is so low that you have to gouge customers then it is a business heading for failure.
A lot of B&M's where i live are playing at being a retailer. They've seen an opportunity to make cash and jumped in. I will not spend money in those places.
Of the 5 new vape shops opened in my neighbourhood i would only use 1. That's the 1 that provides a juice bar and has a decent stock. The others are selling generic Egos and pre-bottled juice at a 300% mark up.
Anyway OP, it was lucky you had the opportunity to purchase from a B&M. if no-one used them the choice would be gone. :)

At the end of the day no one is forced to buy anything from any B&M. If a business can't move merchandise due to high pricing the price will be adjusted. It's supply and demand. I've knowingly paid too much for items because I wanted them right now. I paid for convenience.

Exactly!!!

Why are prices higher in the UK? You guys tax e-cig stuff more, import taxes or something?

Prices are higher in the UK because retailers rip-off consumers over here. It must be something to do with our corner shop culture !
Check out Liberty Flights U.S. then try the U.K. website. A real eye opener.

My local shop (in Sweden) has prices that are really high compared to what I can get from China (it's not easy being a B&M vendor in the time of online shopping). However, I don't consider them to be ripping off their customers. They have considerable overheads, and I would be surprised if they get their products much cheaper than I get them for when directly ordering from China. You also need to factor in the volume of sales. With a huge customer base you can lower the prices, both due to getting better wholesale prices the more of a particular item you order and due to not taking as much risk on each single item. I rarely buy from that shop (partly because it's quite far away) but I am immensely grateful for the help and advice I got from there when I started vaping.

B&M's are certainly needed on occasion. I was on vacation in miami and needed boge cartos ASAP. I ended up paying $11 for a box of 5. That hurt but I paid happily and thanked them. It saved my ..... On the other hand, when I go to my local vape shops with the intention of buying something new to play with I never pull the trigger. I walk in and look around to find something I like at a fair price. Fully expecting to pay a little more because I'm in a B&M. Still, I never make the purchase because the prices are simply to high. At a brick and mortar I'm willing to pay the high average internet price +what shipping would cost+ 10% or so cuz they have overhead+ tax. Anything above that and I'll wait for shipping unless its a vape or smoke emergency.

I certainly have nothing against the Chinese people or their country. Those who enter into the world trade market are just trying to make money along side every other person in the world.

What I find interesting in threads like this though are the "costs too much", "that's robbery", and "I would support the B&M if" statements.

What is a fair markup to you? 0.25%, 2.5%, 25%, 250%?

We have a huge trade deficit with China, and have for some time. That equates to fewer jobs anywhere that has a similar trade inequity. In very general terms if we just use the federal minimum wage of $7.25 an hour times 2080 hours (that's full time) we come up with $15,080. In 2013 the US China trade deficit was $318,417,000,000! That's 21.1 million minimum wage jobs. At an unemployment rate of 7.4% or 12.0 million people its clear that our trade deficit clearly exceeds what it would cost to employ all of our unemployed. In fact we could pay them a $26,534.75 salary each.

I'm just saying that saving a couple dollars isn't worth knowing I'm directly contributing to putting someone out of work, it just doesn't sit well with me.

I'll buy at a markup if its available local just to prevent from being a part of that, even if the product originates in China. At least then a good chunk of change is supporting my economy too.

I still say anyone who complains about B&M prices after paying said prices (by making a choice to do so after being given a price) has lost all rights to complain.

It's sort of like complaining about the food at Waffle House. Dude... You're at a Waffle House. You made the decision to eat there as soon as you walked through that door.

The OP had the chance to say no and go elsewhere, but instead handed the clerk his/her money. He made the choice, but then turned right around, posted a pic of the receipt that he chose to pay for, and complained. Why?
