As far as that burnt out rx200 goes they used two battery's of one sort and a different battery to make up the three no information on what battery's were used but married trios are a must for that device and it happened in a b&m in corpus Christi Texas so b&m and idiot involved unlikely to take any liability or blame. No matter if it cost £30 or £300 if you don't use them properly they break because they are meant to be used in the proper manner with a modicum of common sense. I've got one rx200 and will shortly be ordering three more that's how bad they are will also be ordering an ml class as well that's my treat to myself for over three years off the baccy. Cheap or expensive I don't care as long as it works and keeps me off the baccy but assuming something is rubbish because it doesn't cost x amount or because it's made in whatever country is just ignorance no matter how you try and dress it up.

As I understood it, the B&M this occurred in doesn't even sell the device. It was a customer who came in with it. Not sure how that makes this particular B&M an idiot.

False.

That is what you read into it.

I support (ed) 6 vapers solely on my cig money. Mostly with GREAT inexpensive gear.

Because I chose to treat 1 or 3 of us with a nice piece here and there means simply that... I CHOSE to purchase a TREAT.

And because I'm well within my budget... and still saving the wifes $4,368 she would be smoking up each year... and the other 4 have less than $30 combined investment...

Or just because it's my money and I can do what the eff I want with it...

I don't see a problem with it.

Matter of fact, I just bought the wife a $200.00 and a $70.00 atomizer for a device that uses $1 - $2 cartos.

Because I can and I like to see her happy.

Are you going to criticize our choice of blenders too? It's more expensive than anything posted here so far...

You are talking about your choice.
I am talking of people who want to try vaping (to quit smoking) but not sure they will like it.
When they see recommendations about $200+ sets (mod+topper) would they want to spend this money just for testing vaping waters? Some can, many - not.
My position - it is enough around $50 to start vaping. Mod+topper+first juice bottle.

Wrong.

Please pay attention.

I have mentioned nearly a half dozen great options in that price range YOU desire.

I HAVE NOT ONCE mentioned the name of my expensive devices that I recollect.

All those INEXPENSIVE options I mentioned WERE ALL MY CHOICES. Every single one...

I started with a damn Vamo for crying out loud.

My issue is those cheap devices aren't what they used to be. When people used to buy cheaper devices, it was something like an MVP which is built like a tank and showed green, all the way across in the accuracy tests. Now China is pumping out mod after mod without much R&D and often times cheaper materials and or thin wiring. How many more IPV and Sigelei mods do we really need? And why is the Chinese warranty in so many cases down to 30 days?

Just wait. Were about to start seeing everyone start making their own eScribe clones all while shoving triple and quadruple 18650's in these boxes. Then when someone like Evolv makes something else in the spring, China will butcher that as well.

I just dont think the mass production of these things are making the market as reputable as it used to be. Now days when I enter a vape shop, I feel like I'm shopping for flea market A/V equipment.

I dunno, man.

I get what you're saying. I do.

I'm careful about what I buy usually. I'm still skeptical about eleaf... and cloupor for that matter.

But the wife is sitting home by herself with the cloupor mini and 2 subox mini kits... and I'm not worried one bit.

But you have to realize you're screaming at a brick wall right now.

If you want people to consider the info you're posting, it needs less forceful bias and it's own place.

Start a new thread where you can post your graphs and info, maybe?

Also keep in mind, you're comparing the entire market of today to basically the only good budget mod from back then.

There was dropped springs, falling off end caps, popping off 510 connections, egos trying to light houses on fire, finish wearing off...

Long before you could buy a mod that sounded like a rattlesnake for under $60... plus batts... plus a charger with spacers... plus topper... and a spill clean up kit you needed to keep in your pocket... plus backup... Because... you were... going to break... something...

Most of us don't look back on "the good old days" because things worked well...

At the beginning of last year, let alone earlier.

Vapers have it good now. Budget vapers have it downright made.

OK. I believe you.
Are you suggesting it is the responsibility of us vapers to start a bunch of threads claiming we still use ego batteries so we don't scare people away? You seem intelligent....you should give the rest of society more credit. When I joined in 2013, people were talking about the ProVari....I knew I'd never drop that kind of money on a "battery holder". Yet, I still managed to quit smoking and I did it with an ego and a clearo. Then I got a Vamo and a Vivi Nova....a Cadillac at the time.
People aren't so stupid that they see someone mention an expensive mod and immediately rule out vaping. You're underestimating the human race.

The only problem with that is, I would be recommending older gear. I know people want to call me a snob because of my stance on these products but I trust almost nothing cheaper that has released since last spring. The market has become too saturated and china seems to care too much about quantity, power which is almost never accurate and bells & whistles over quality. Right now is also a time where you can buy yesterdays higher end stuff at around the cost of today's Sigelei mods.

I would even sell my Vapor Shark rDNA 40 which I stripped and mirror polished for around $50 with the wireless charger, an LG HG2 and two skins. I recently sold my MVP 2.0 with an Aspire Nautilus for $25 to a new vaper.

There are deals everywhere. People just have to look. And people who want to take the time to make recommendations should be looking for them.

Which is the reason back when I started vaping that serious ProVari users were not suggesting ProVari to new vapers. It was a bit pricey to drop that much cash all at once without knowing if vaping would work for you.

For those who'll want to dispute this, don't confuse serious with those running rampant in the forums screaming "Get a ProVari"!

I disagree with your last sentence. You'd be surprised how many people wanna quit smoking but the moment they hear/see a price that cost more than their pack of cigs, they immediately dismiss the whole notion of vaping.

Personally, if I am going to help someone quit, it's definitely with a $50 budget in mind- including juice. Let them advance afterwards on their own. If nothing else they already know they like vaping; now want something newer[/] in regards to gear.

Yep....there were the fanatics. But not nearly as many as those ACCUSED of being fanatics. It was fun back then. Someone would ask for a durable, well built, reliable mod and someone would suggest a ProVari. Then the sparks would fly for 2 days until the thread got shut down. Even though, in those days, very few mods fit the op's criteria.
I eventually got a ProVari and then several more. Probably still the best purchases I've made....although, I've given them all away.
