Overheating

So I've had my eVic for probably two months and for as long as I can remember it starts overheating (thermometer flashing) during normal use. I do tend to chain vape but I haven't been able to find anything about this happening to anyone else. Anyone have any ideas? Advice?

Just for context I was using a Kanger Protank but switched to an AGA-T2 a couple days ago. And the overheating happens several times a day. But if its hot out and I'm in the car or something I can barely vape without it heating up.

What Wattage/Voltage you got it cranked up to, and what Resistance on your coils. Higher the watts on the coil, the warmer everything gets after sustained use. Have just basic Ego VV batts myself, but when at home using my Protank cranked up to 4.2-4.4 volts on a standard 2.5ohm head in the protank, after about 10 minutes I have to set it down to let it rest and vape on a drip atty on a basic ego twist. Ambient temperatures could affect sensors as well, so I'd keep a secondary on hand all I can advise in that situation.

On my AGA the coils are usually 1.8-2.0 and the most I have it set up to is 4 volts (or around 8w). And when I was using the protank The highest I ever went was 3.3.

Haven't used the aga t yet but vape my protank at 8.5 - 9.5w. I found my RDA to heat up allot using 28g wire just the top of my SVD the battery doesn't heat up. My RDA was 1.3 ohm though

same issue here, I cranked up the minimum temp in the software about 10 degrees, it never goes on now. I am not sure of the exact numbers, but I read that LI ION batteries have no issues until the temp hits 140, the evic was set at 95, so I pushed it up to about 105 (might be 110). no problems.

I went and looked up the battery that comes with the eVic and i found this under where it said "Operating Temperature":

Charge : 0 to 45℃
Discharge: -20 to 60℃

Does that mean that it's safe up to 60*C? And if I put my alarm to 45-50*C I'd be cool?

It should, 60*C will be your top limit, over and above that is where things start getting dangerous. Think at one time, top of the line computer processors had max limits of about 50*C just to give you an idea how hot that battery would have to be at 50*C which is about 122*F, 60*C is about 140*F

Another question. I've been looking and I'm not sure if I should start another thread or what. But I'm kinda looking into something similar to my eVic or even a genesis hybrid. The one that would be awesome is the Orion V3. But that's like $350. Idk. What should I look at? There's Genesis or whatever.

My personal recommendation, and take it for what it is, as it comes from a fairly inexperienced vaper, would be to use an atty with higher ohms. More resistance should give you cooler vape and extended battery life. Sure you won't produce massive clouds, but that's not exactly a must have when driving anyway.

I haven't moved up to RBA/RDA/Genesis attys as of yet, so I a can not help there. But I can point you at a couple sections here on the forums
