So I quit analogs dec 26, 2011.
Congratulations! What a great holiday present for you and those who love and care about you!
Is there a system that you can fill in the morning, put in a battery and go all day with?? Or maybe just change out stuff once a day? I don't care what it looks like- just interested in better function! I guess something that could be mobile is good as well.
I quit 3-1/2 weeks ago after 45 years of smoking. I did that by starting with a cheapie analog-looking like kit from a local smoke shop and soon ran into the same issues as you - I was going through 5-6 batteries a day and it seemed like I was constantly refilling cartomizers. After a lot of research, my first purchase of better vaping gear (all genuine Joye brand from Cignot) consisted of -
1.
eGo-T passthrough battery in the 1000 mA size
2.
cylinder style eGo mega atomizer
3.
empty cylinder style eGo mega cartridges
4.
1000 mA AC-to-USB adaptor
5. Lots of sample juices
The 1000 mA battery is lasting me all day as a standalone battery and, if you unscrew the little silver cap on the end, can also be connected with the included cord to the AC-to-USB adaptor for charging as well as continued use when the battery is depleted. However, if you don't want or need the passthrough feature, you could also just get the
standalone eGo-T 1000 mA battery.
The cartridges are rated as holding 2.5 ml of juice but realistically hold about 2 ml (about 75 drops on the first fill), which is still probably more than double what your 510 cartridges hold.
All in all, I've found this combo to be simplicity itself and a great performer. As noted above, the battery lasts me all day. The cartridges last much longer than the cartomizers that are used with the smoke shop kit and filling them is super simple and quick (just drop the juice in until the top of the filler looks slushy like). Vapor production is excellent with both PG and VG juices, to my eye comparable to the billowing clouds you see in the youTube reviews of high-end gear even though my lung capacity isn't that great anymore. Flavor also seems pretty good to me considering that my taste buds are pretty much fried from 45 years of smoking. I haven't noticed any filler taste like I did with cartomizers and I've also had no leaks or dry hits unless I let the cartridge get too dry (listen for the crack-snapple-pop sounds when you drag that seem to be the sign of an adequately-filled cartridge properly wicking to the atomizer and refill when you don't hear anything during a drag).
I have only done tobacco flavor at this point but would like to do some flavors. so on this system i am striving for can i get different tanks ( i think is what i want?) in different sizes that i could switch back and forth it i want to do a flavor?
Another nice thing about this combo is that the blank cartridges are cheap enough ($7 for a 5-pack) to dedicate one to each flavor you're trying. The filler can also easily be pulled out with tweezers and rinsed out if you want to reuse a cartridge for a different flavor.
Anyway, that's what is working for me as someone who doesn't want to have spend a lot of time fiddling with and/or modding things. As a small woman with pretty small hands, it probably looks a bit big on me (it's a little over 6" and about 1/2" around), but like you, I don't really care about its appearance too much, I just want something that does its job reliably and with a minimum of fuss.
I hope this helps a bit (although as with anything, your mileage may vary

. Good luck!
