Hello, I feel your pain man, there is a lot more info out there than I expected! I also tried the ones from 7-11 and a few other stores, my experience has been if it looks anything like a cigarette it will not be any good! I have the ego c with a clear atomizer thingy instead of what it came with (fumbling with that tank sucked). I am pretty happy with it but after reading a few threads it looks like there are better options!

^^^^ Newbie myself...I had my last analogue on Tuesday Sept 25th 2012 at noon MST and haven't looked back...ok, granted it's only been a bit over 48 hours, but whatever. So far I'm loving this and thouroughly enjoying my DCT eGO from Smoktech. I was a very heavy smoker (2 PAD +) and the battery and a filled tank last me all day long so I don't have to stop and mess with it.

In RE to the desert flavours, etc...I'm with ya, not sure about those. For now I'm sticking with my RY4 and 3&5. I have a buddy who vapes, and he uses the deserty stuff primarily to mix with other stuff.
Which DCT do you have? I'm looking to order one but want to do some research first. I'd like one with the ego threads because of how it looks, but if another would be better i will make the sacrifice.

i love my ego twist. it's a bit bigger than a regular cig, but after a day or two, you won't even think about it! they're the most inexpensive vv devices out there, i think. and they're worth it. i have 2 of the smaller ones i got from altsmoke, and i am basically attached to them. i started smoking when i was sixteen (i'm 40 now), and they saved my life! i've stopped smoking analogs altogether with the help of all the wonderful people on this forum and some fantastic juice i got from backwoods brew (cassablanca-my all day vape!).
congrats on your choice to quit, regardless of what model e-cig you get. there is a lot of info to be found on this site, and everybody seems more than happy to share their knowledge. this is the best forum i've ever seen-almost no bashing, no snarky comments, no bullying...great people are part of the vaping subculture. welcome!

I too chose the volt about 7 weeks ago...and haven't smoked since. I haven't gone to the bigger batteries but have 6 78mm manuals. The ejuice at smokeless image is exceptable...I use the country and desert joe...my wife uses the 555 and mint. I was a heavy smoker and started with 24mg...I'm getting ready to try 18mg as I think the 24mg is a little high for me. I've also been on the search for better flavors...but after 2 sample packs from various vendors, I realize it's gonna be a long search...but I do have those I mentioned that at least keep me from smoking. SI does have a lot of options like CE3s, clearos etc, but I tend to try those and usually end up back on the cartomizers. They just work for me. Good luck

Nitequitter-I think you did a fine job with the SI kit as your first purchase. It will knock the socks off of what you have tried so far. Once you get the hang of it, and figure out what you like, then you can expand your horizons.

I would also suggest getting some of the CE3's with your next order. The flavor and vapor are head and shoulders above what you get out of a cartomizer.

As for juices, I really liked what I tried from SI, and have liked little else...until I found Ahlusion. Just my :2c:

I'm definitely going to have to look into these egos I keep seeing pop up all over this place lol. Are they compatible with the ce3s and cartos from SI or do they require different do-dads?f
For now I am just looking forward to getting the volt kit once it gets here and get back off these cigs. I'm seeing that quite a few peeps around here like the volt kit and stick with it and that gives me confidence that I picked the right one to start with.
I am already looking into snagging some of the ce3s and maybe an extra battery or two when I order more stuff.
Looking at juice vendors right now and ran across The Plume Room. Their presentation of their website sure fits the bill and they are in Tallahassee which is only about 4 hrs away so might mean super quick shipping which would be an awesome plus! Also ran across that Backwoods Brew place and they look good too.

The Egos have 510 inner threads and eGo threads outside. When I ordered one I picked up an adaptor for a couple of dollars to have the ability to use my kr808 cartos as well. I ordered the Ego Twist 1000 mah because people were saying it would last them most of a day. It lasts me 36 hours if I am using it exclusively.

Hi again Nitequitter. Good To see you are doing the legwork that comes with vaping. Here is something that may be of assistance if you need to track down a local shop. VaporSearchUSA You just click you state and there will be a list of vendors and generally thier location and contact info. Four hours is quite a trek but if they are the closest place then you may have an advantage. For what it is worth my Favorite vendor is about two hours away and i nnormally wait a day for shipping. I.E. if I order on monday evening it will be in my mailbox wednesday.

Understand the brain overload my friend. I was a heavy smoker and started out with something with the 510 thread on it.

I know for a fact it will fit in the pen pocket of a shirt and it will last all day. The juice is the hardest part. If you ask one question about what the best juice is you will get a million answers. I like several different ones. My daily vape and my goto is ry4. Good luck with what ever you decide on.

Go with the V4L Titan you can find it at v4l.com and if you arent tight on money and can spend an extra $30 buy the ego from them and try to slowly transition to that. That is where you are gonna find that great throat hit that you are looking for. Once you start smoking it you wont even care that it doesnt look like a cigarette

Thanks for that link iusedtoanalog, that is great!

I am going to continue to research the ego/kgo batteries and stuff and see where is takes me. Once I get my kit I will have three 808 batteries and enough stuff to hold me over for a while. Can't wait.

Edit: I used that locator and just found 3 vendors within 30 min of me! Nexcig, Gator Vapor, and SmokTek...I'll have to check them out for juice and supplies! (and hell, their kits are pretty cheap too) Thanks again for that link.

You're starting in a good place. I used Volt 78mm batteries for 3-4 months before I wanted something with longer battery life and that took priority over cig size. I then got the Volt X2 batteries. The 650mah batteries with a clearo, carto, or ce3 attached are about cigar size, have about 2X the life of the 78mm batteries, and are compatible with the cartos that fit the smaller batteries. They are the same thing as an eGo-C (with 3.7v as opposed to 3.4 for the eGo) and the Kgo. The only difference is the threads. You can also use most eGo threaded juice delivery devices on the X2s because they have an eGo thread as well for where the cone attaches. If/when you're ready for a larger battery, you can get those from Smokeless Image as well.

Let me ask a silly question. When you bought your first pack of cigarettes, how much research did you put into which brand to get?
Now, why would you think getting your first e-cig would be all that different? So just get one, if you like it .. great, if not .. get a different one. The chances of it being the same as the PV I like are slim to none anyway.

Personal opinion of course, but the e-liquid/flavor you choose to use will have more to do with vaping working for you than the device you choose will. The two flavors that seem to work best at first are called RY4 and 555.

I suppose that's not too silly of a question but let me answer this way: When I started smoking I didn't even buy my first pack, or probably my tenth pack for that matter. I smoked my first cig when I was probably 13 out of a pack stolen by a friend from his dad. Like many that start at that age it was a mix of peer "pressure" and a way to relieve the perceived stress of teen angst. I didn't fully start procuring my own and smoking enough to call myself a smoker until I was 15. At that point I would either pay some older teen or willing adult to buy them for me and just smoked whatever they bought. By the time I was 16-17 and looked old enough to buy my own I was buying camels cause I liked the taste. At some point I switched to Marlboro.

Now, a pack of either back then was around $2-2.50 and they were disposable by nature. Fast forward to now and I'm looking at e-cigs which pretty much need to be bought in starter kits. With a starter kit that has everything you would probably need to perform well enough to replace the cig habit costing anywhere from $50 and up, I would think one would want to know what may work the best for them or more correctly, what others have had luck with, considering the monetary investment involved. If e-cigs were $5 ea, readily available, and disposable by nature like cig packs, then I would just buy whatever and if I didn't like it, buy another brand the next time.

Is that Plume Room in Tallahassee a brick & mortar store? I live in Tallahassee & I searched all over for a store & never found one. I'll have to check it out as I'd love to find a store where I could just go buy stuff......

Their site states that they are in Tallahassee but does not give an exact address. I would suggest just emailing them through the widget on the bottom of their site here and seeing if they have a storefront. I am quickly learning that many of the places that sell vaping stuff in my area are internet based only. I emailed 4 businesses and 3 of them got back to me quickly but were only on the internet, still waiting on the 4th.

    Hi and welcome to ECF!

So if your looking for a set up for a good price and long lasting battery but still small I would suggest this kit
    KGO kit1100mAh by SLB
Its on sale right now for $37.99 bucks come with 2 batteries charger and 6 cartos and the cone and a bunch of colors to chose from. one fully charged last about 10-12 hours with single coil carto.

here are some review links for you about the kgo
    grimgreen
    K-GO : DUAL COIL CARTOMIZERS - YouTube
    pbusardo
A PBusardo Review - KGO Kit - Hoosier E Cig Supply - YouTube

as far as cartos go I would look in to the vivi nova min or the vivi nova mega ill give you a link to both to make it easy for you. there cheap hold alot of ejuice and you can buy replaceable heads for like $2.50 and last about 2 weeks to a month. they make you juice taste great and it come with 3 heads so you can test and find out witch one suites you best. come with 1.8 ohm 2.4 ohm and 2.8 ohm heads. then mega is $12.49 and then mini witch is the same size as the battery is $11.99. an they work great. also if you want to really save cash you can rebuild them really cheap vs buying new heads. Oh and SUPER easy to fillup. If you decide to get the kgo set and want the tank i my self like the adapters that cover the threads there are 2 adapters ill link

    mega vivi nova V3
Vision Nova Tank Clearomizer V3 Mega

    mini vivi nova v3
Vision Nova Tank Clearomizer V3 Slim

replacement heads for once you find out with one you prefer
Vision Nova Replacement Heads V3 long Wick

adapters you do not have to have these there just to clean up the look doesn't help or hurt the vaping 3.5ml for the mini vivi and 6ml for the mega vivi
    Adapter for Dual Coil Tanks

If your looking for a nice VV device that you can adjust to your own setting then I would suggest the Kgo VV 650 mah. there are alot of reason that it's is a good starter vv device. Its cheap $25.99 bucks, comes with a charger, you can use it while you charge it like a pass through, lcd screen so you can see what volts your at, it goes from 3.0-6.0 volts, It a Li-Po battery vs li-ion, you can lock the volts so you dont change it in you pocket, and you can turn it off and on by clicking the button 5 times fast. and it charges in about 45 mins to full. last about 4-6 hours on the vivi nova tank and about 3-4 hours on a duel coil carto.

    link to the kgo vv
    KGO V.V. 650mAh

here is a review link for the kgo vv to show you how it vapes and looks with the cones and adapters with the vivi nova tank

I also have a card i got with my order with a coupon code any one can use for 5% off its 5off
that's just to save you a little cash if you decide to try one of those batteries. its a great site got my order in 3 days and $50 bucks + and you get free shipping. hope this helps
