Hello ECF!

I have been using cheap e-cigs from my local smoke shop for a few months now and am ready to purchase something with quality that will last me much longer. After doing tons of research I have become overwhelmed and still do not feel comfortable enough to make the final decision. I was hoping you could help me build one! (Or suggest one already setup)

I have a budget of about 100, but obviously less is better. I am looking for something that will last me a long time, decently strong (some that I have tried barely had anything to exhale), and a manual battery. I am not asking for "the best" I would just like to know if you were in my shoes what you would go with.

If you decide to give me a list of parts please don't assume I should know something and leave it out...because I most likely don't! :p

Thank you in advance!

I am OK with simple as long as it's not going to break on me any time soon. The problem with my previous purchases is they usually start out great and simple but something goes wrong soon after.

If you want something smallish then I would try the sparkplug, otherwise you should look at The Bolt. Both are around $40 but the sparkplug is a whole kit opposed to the bolt which is by itself.

The most simple reliable setup in my opinion is a Vision spinner eGo battery 1300 Mah with the smok XL Mega cartomiser. I have lots of different equipment but always fall back to this basic setup. 2 Vision spinner batteries $50. 5 pack of xl Mega Cartos $12. Add juice and a charger and you have the perfect kit that will work. The cartos last 1-2 weeks so they will need to be replaced just like extra juice.

Heres a couple links:

Stormy's Vapor Cellar sells genuine Joyetech eGo Twists and real Kanger T3's, not cheap knockoffs. Free shipping any order over $60. Two 1000mA Twists and two T3's, add an eGo USB charger, about 70- 75 bucks. I'm a trucker, I've had these setups fall out of pocket onto concrete, asphault and dribbled (unintentionally) around in the floorboards. I've seen where other 'saved' a buck or two by buying cheaper imitations, and it stopped working first time it 'fell over on it's side'. The Twist is VV, the T3 is an easy to use/ fill bottom coil that can be replaced for $3 or rewicked so easily even I can do it. That's just my experience......:2c:

Smoktech E-Power 14650.

I quit a 35-year, 1.5 pack a day habit with mine. I'm still using it. Any APV that holds up for a year at these prices is a winner.

-Pocket sized. It doesn't have to stay home at the coffee table.
-14650 Li-ion battery, 1050 mAh (about 10 hrs vaping time). Available in protected ICR or IMR. Batteries cost you anywhere from $4 to $9 apiece. That saves you big money down the road compared to eGo style batteries.
-3.7 V semi-regulated. Fairly flat power production as the battery drains from 4.2 V to 3.5 V. Five-click safety switch and the usual protection circuits, low battery signal. Sure beats a mechanical mod at this size.
-Uses 510 connector.
-Excellent vapor production with single coil, low resistance devices. You can use cartos, tanks and clearos. I recommend Smoktech single coil stainless steel XL cartos: 1.7 to 2.0 ohms. 1.7 ohms will be the warmest vape.

I recommend having a spare APV for a back-up. A spare E-Power 14650 or at least a spare switch module are very affordable. That said, I have been using mine constantly for a year now. I'm still using the original E-Power 14650 and switch. I haven't touched the spare parts yet. I'm running on my second set of batteries. I use 6-8 batteries in rotation and charge them in batches.

Tropical Vapor and Crystal Clear Vaping are a couple of places to look for the E-Power 14650. Hoosier E-Cig and 310Vapers are good bets for the Smoktech cartos.

E-Power 14650 in stainless steel. After a year of use, some of the nickel plate is wearing thin on the switch module. Most PVs never live long enough or are used enough to show this kind of wear.

I highly suggest the eGo Twist 1000 mAh for starting up. For a delivery devise, I suggest a Mini Vivi Nova. There are many juice vendors, the higher priced, and the economical one's. RAWR has great juices, but higher priced. ECBlend has good juices, and are lower priced. The Spinner 1,300 mAh is also a good battery choice. Don't let the $40 Bolt price fool you. You will need a charger and at least two batteries + a juice delivery device, so it's not really $40.

Clearomizer tanks: Vivi Nova, Mini Vivi Nova (fits a eGo Twist or spinner smoother than the full sized tank, i.e., looks better), Splitfire (great device, but more difficult to change heads), Kranger (quite a few like those too).

Cartomizer tanks: DCT tank (stands for dual cartomizer tank, but can use single coil carto's), IBTanked. The cartomizers are a little more finicky than the clearomizer tanks.

IMO, the eGo Twist wins hands-down in the cheap battery department. But it depends on what you smoke/smoked. I smoked unfiltered lucky strikes, and the crappy performance of a normal eGo wouldn't cut it…I needed the VV.

As far as things to put on it, without much experimenting and staying on a budget, the Kanger T2 and T3 are worth looking at as well as the Vision Vivi Nova. They all take their own kind of fiddiling, and you have to know how and when to clean them or you'll think they only work for a few days.

Cartomizers (with or without carto tanks) are another solid way to go, though they're a bit more flakey IME. There's no good way to clean/fix them, so when one burns out (or if one performs badly straight out of the box), you just have to throw it away and start on a new one. That being said, in general they're a good vape. Right now, I'm preferring Boges silver cartos. The smoktechs I was getting a while ago were terrible.

yup ego twist and the vivi nova, mini nova or a kanger t3 tank is my fav
If you are in phoenix are look around I hear there are a couple brick and Mortars in the phoenix metro area. Go take a look and do a hands on test. you might pay a bit more but it is worth it; human interface, hands on experience, no shipping charges & hopefully wise recommendations

Hi Fizi,
I would get a kit to save money.
www.hoosierecig.com for $43 you can get 3.7 volt Kgo batteries with clearomizers.
VaporCigzz.com for $71 you can get Joyetech 1000mah Twists with Vision replaceable head clearomizers.

I have the ego c twist. I got the two 650batts 2 clearo, charger, and sample juice for about $70. On a full charge it lasts me the whole day. But that's me and my vaping is changing more and more. But I will say the vv is a must imho. Adjustment to how cool/warm the vap is one benefit and the other is taste/ vapor. I vap my twist on my nova mini at 4.8 with gummy bears. I like the warmer vap. Guess what. My wife doesn't and she does 3.8. So having adjustment is nice. I ordered a provari mini today but the twist is definitely my back up and I still will use it. I recommended it to my whole otherside of the family on thanksgiving who all smoke . Not everyone liked one single setting. Can't go wrong with a vv.. cheers and good luck. I

Great battery recommendations

I would personally not recommend the Vivi Nova because if you run into the burning gasket issue you'll be frustrated and raiding 7-11 for a disposable.

Get a Kanger T2 instead, its the best out of the box clearo experience there is to be had IMO.

I can't disagree on the Kanger T2, i love it, but darn, those 2 places don't sell Kanger.
