Very surprised by the comments about the battery door not fitting perfectly and the fit and finish being sub par , i must have been a lucky one because there isn't a flaw to be seen anywhere on mine . Construction, fit and finish are exceptional on mine.

Same here, very well made product and I'm very happy after day one. Only used my protank and spinner2 a few rare times yesterday just to compare briefly.

Same way with mine too. My battery door is more perfect and fit and finish is better than anything I expected to be mass produced from China for a budget price.

I'm thinking it was either a very small batch of the production run with machining problems like the battery door, or QC caught a whole lot of them before they were shipped. However my vendor received a batch, they weren't happy with around the same time the first vendors started shipping. It may have been the battery back that was the problem.

If the problem is in the back and not the housing itself, man that will be the easiest fix ever. Just ship the user a new battery door and have them install it with a disclaimer about the small screws and needing to be careful.

So far I've been vaping a week, haven't used any other device, haven't even put a battery in them since I got this one. I've had a pleasant experience. I did see the voltage spike problem others reported, and it was caused by me washing and rewicking my Tugboat and causing a loose connection. I think if it gets erratic ohm readings it will spike the volts randomly until it makes good connection, the dna also has done this with a kayfun, I just didn't realize what caused the burning until I watched the IPV2 do it. Some users might have the same symptom from a legitimate device problem but I bet it's related to something at the 510 connection or center pin.

I have two, one black and silver and from elev8 and one from eBay vendor. eBay vendor got there's in the first batch on the 28; and elev8 got there's a little later, both have no issues with doors and anything in PB review. It's really not fair he reviewed a fault unit

Do you mind me asking who you purchased from on ebay? I have one coming from vapeNW on ebay.

I think it sucks Phil got one that was a little screwed up, but it does to help show people that it CAN happen. Phil should have done more to mention that it has a warranty, and he should use that warranty and do a follow up to compare when he receives the new one.

Also for all we know Phil could have gotten a first production run. Showing off the jacked up units could also be the push the manufacturers need to step up their QC.

Mine is flush side to side but there is a little over hang top to bottom. I just down set it so my attys sit down flush on top. Not really a big deal to me. As well as this unit is performing I'm thinking of getting another one along with the SX 350 mod I'm waiting on.

I'm not sure if the seller still has any, his name was bluedevilace . It was 120 but over night shipped. Elev8vape just got a shipment of silver and black should be delivered today so he has like 8000 in stock if you need one , both units were flawless. If u email elev8 he will prob do it for 79.99 he's really reasonable, it also shipped overnight 1 day priority mail.

rounding third and heading home...
i received an ipv1 in one of the first batches and show none of the problems PB showed in his review. watching the review, you must realize his had to be a lemon. i think so,anyway. i think it is an inexpensive box mod that is perfect for using and not having to worry if anything happens to it. it is great for taking out-and-about and saving the really good mods for home or more protected vaping. it wouldn't break my heart if something happened to this mod down the road. as such, it serves its purpose for me. it has worked perfectly so far- for the price i got it($64) my expectationss are being met and and i am not going to worry about it too much. i will use and abuse it and move on to something else(or maybe a later revision) when the time ever comes. a nice, custom -made sx350 it's NOT so why get too worked up about it? if they watch the quality control, fix the ridiculous back door/screw combo, and offer some colors it is a nice powerful box mod for the masses for a nice price...all-in-all a decent mod....

Lack of consistency, not surprising for cheap mass produced electronics

Really makes me shake my head when reviewers get bum units , i mean what are the odds lol. Apparently pretty good it seems .

Regarding leaving your better mods at home and using the iPV to take out and about and no biggie if something happens to it , the iPV is my best mod lol , i hope nothing happens to it.

The one thing i don't like about it is the venting on the bottom , that's where you set it down and if your vaping high wattage you want the vent holes unblocked . That being the case i added small circular bumper stick ons to allow it to stand up and still vent , i also added them to the corners so if it's dropped minimal damage lol.

I let it sit on it's side (long P4U ) logo side down and that takes care of the venting issue as well.

Not me but after seeing your excellent quality pic i just had to comment that "how can P4U consider that black " lol. You would think it would be in the ballpark of black but it's not even close.

Your pic displays the excellent fit and finish as well.

Ok guys, here's the best build I came up with... So far. got some free time today, I'm off and my little boys been sleepy today so I got out the power drill. Looped 28 gauge and ran it at full speed with a lot of tendon. In order to get the devices true output at higher volts I build a dual coil setup at 1.3 OHMs. Keep in mind it's very important to use one strand of twisted wire as the ridges are different every time and you may want to torch the kantal before spinning it because it gets kindof wacky if u don't. It took 13 wraps to get it to 1.3 OHM on each coil, I vape it at 30 watts to get more flavor and 50 for best flavor and vapor. Very dense smoke and really takes advantage of 50 watts without scorching the cotton as that may happen with more basic builds more quickly. Here's some pictures, could be better but my son kept waking up and I was limited on time between his feedings. Here's some pictures! I also vaped two IPVs at once today to get 100 watts... Kindof haha

Build on my tobeco tugboat
