Not me but after seeing your excellent quality pic i just had to comment that "how can P4U consider that black " lol. You would think it would be in the ballpark of black but it's not even close.

Your pic displays the excellent fit and finish as well.

Its more like a chunk of carbon with diamond specks in it..some lighting it's a blue-hue carbon.

Ok guys, here's the best build I came up with... So far. got some free time today, I'm off and my little boys been sleepy today so I got out the power drill. Looped 28 gauge and ran it at full speed with a lot of tendon. In order to get the devices true output at higher volts I build a dual coil setup at 1.3 OHMs. Keep in mind it's very important to use one strand of twisted wire as the ridges are different every time and you may want to torch the kantal before spinning it because it gets kindof wacky if u don't. It took 13 wraps to get it to 1.3 OHM on each coil, I vape it at 30 watts to get more flavor and 50 for best flavor and vapor. Very dense smoke and really takes advantage of 50 watts without scorching the cotton as that may happen with more basic builds more quickly. Here's some pictures, could be better but my son kept waking up and I was limited on time between his feedings. Here's some pictures! I also vaped two IPVs at once today to get 100 watts... Kindof haha

Build on my tobeco tugboat

It looks like too little wick...but if it's working.. mAybe it's just the picture..

I'm loving my vume bell...but.... It's the first new atty that I was like, hey, that can be even better if I rebuild it..:/lazy...but it's already topping everything I have, not taking capacity into consideration..I mean jeez..I need to redrip after 2 pulls.

Funny you said that, Right after I took those pictures I added a lot more wick lol. I have a question though, with a device like the IPV, if the coils touch the other wall, ,will it still fire and how bad is that to do. It seems that the coil dropped and touch but it was still firing, it may not have been making full contact though i couldnt tell because of the cotton it just looked very close, so i lifted it. Just in case its good to know though.

If the negative side of the coil touches the wall, the wall becomes your new negative connection. This will change your resistance because it will cancel out the coil running to the negative post(from the point it touches the wall), but generally will still fire and function mostly normally.

If the positive side of the coil touches the wall, or anything conductive for that matter, it's instant short. The Ipv has short protection so it will just kick in, on a mech it could mean really bad things if you fire it.

Thank u ! I think it was my resistence went down to 1.3.

Anyone notice that on the silver IPV the side with the design the stars are painted white, but on the black they are see through and on the IPB logo part u can see the internals of the device in good lighting?

Suspect... I did it bro. Go 3 posts back...best APV ever. I have found my one device for everything. Man I love this thing. Mine does get very warm, is this normal?
It's more then likely from your atomizer. I use mine without battery cover at home...so try that. See if the internals are getting warm.

Wish I had known he did a review before I ordered. I jumped on the first preorder early july. I also thought the chip would be updatable. No such luck. Funny how the user manual doesn't include how to turn the touch fire on and off. I am real happy with the hana clone I have and really just wanted another box mod. The chip is designed to run more power than the resistance calls for. When you run it higher it begins to read resistance lower. Phil's charts confirmed it ran up to .4V higher than it should. It's wide open or nothing for this loser mod.
Sure the unit has its faults most products do just take a look at the ZNAs I have seen quality control seems to be slipping there.

Seriously the hana cana clones are not great, nice lump of alu almost everything else is junk damn dome fire buttons, cheap battery holder, useless static 510, no good for anyone left handed, a dozen KSD, cloupor and hotcig all buzz on firing, failure rate on the cana boards is running at 30%, the buttons just fall in when the hotglue gets warm. I could go on and on

Junk is my opinion and having modded a couple with keystone battery holder, complete rewire, tapped out to fit a varitube 510, 12mm SS firing button, leica glass windows, evolv dna 30 board, shapeways dna cradle and usb board holder. I could of saved myself alot of money and bought another IPV2;).

Sure phils review was hard he likes Technics 1210s ;) high end products that are made for people with money!

After using the IPV2 for a few days i like it more so than the hana cana formfactor.

It was never going to be upgradeable that is for the SX350 and of course there roadmap has the V3 which is 100W and dual 18650/26650/lipo

Leica glass , holy cow , you don't play do you lol. Agreed about the SX 330 not being upgradeable , that was well known and talked about on numerous threads .

Anybody surprised over that only has themselves to blame and vendors who stated otherwise shame on you , know your products if you are going to sell them.

Does anyone noticed that when the battery is down and the display shows it, the message is unreadable cause the rows of the display are not right? Or is it only my device? Seems like the top row of the display is moved to the left a bit, so can't read the words...
I just wonder if this is a general problem with the chip software or if it is a problem with only my display/chip...

When my battery is low, it flashes to 10watts while firing...and may pulse- don't know if it's that or I release button from the surprise. Then, it says low battery..and shuts off not long afterwards.

Replace your screws with fogger sized screws..if you're not doing magnets.-lazy sorry for no specs..I heat treated mine, so they're barely noticeable..not as long as the stock screws. I'm sure they'll be used in the batches being made now.

Mine says "low battery!!!" and is readable. Sounds like you may have an issue.

rounding third and heading home...
The one thing i don't like about it is the venting on the bottom , that's where you set it down and if your vaping high wattage you want the vent holes unblocked . That being the case i added small circular bumper stick ons to allow it to stand up and still vent , i also added them to the corners so if it's dropped minimal damage lol.

I let it sit on it's side (long P4U ) logo side down and that takes care of the venting issue as well.

who vapes with the mod resting on a flat surface? even standing on a flat surface if the batteries vented enough to go out the bottom the mod would topple over anyway. you are not supposed to vape while the mod is charging so i don't see any problem with the vent holes on the bottom- unless you don't like them from a looks point-of-view. the crappy screws on this thing wouldn't hold the back on if anything catastrophic happened as well. just seems like you have a lot of angst over a non-existent problem.... it is a nice, cheap chinese mod and in 6months or so when it craps out or some new , next best thing comes along you will discard it or move on without giving it a second thought....

Yeah...it doesn't really need venting.. The battery cover would allow enough pressure to release if a battery vents. Unfortunately, people get fake batteries, so the more, the better.

I've dropped mine a few times from table-hard wood and my desk-..plywood floor.lol. It just sort-a "fell."

Battery wiggled on one of the drops, causing it to restart......... me off having to hold the +/up button for 2 seconds to get back to 50 Watts.:)

Wishlist-bottom feeding IPV..with plume veil. I would cease the pursuit of shiny if I had..at least for a while..too lazy and horrible with time management to make my own..touch sensor, regulated reo. :)

Yea, pbusardo showed that in his review where his would reset with a hard enough "hit" like a drop or hitting it on his hand like in the video. I don't exactly see much of an issue with that considering i don't see me (or anyone else) dropping it or hitting it like that often.

I was stepping over a chair on Saturday and dropped mine from about 7 feet up right onto the corner, all it did was turn it off. It hit hard enough to dent the hardwood at my friends house pretty badly. I'm pretty impressed it made it through, I thought for sure it was broken.
