I shipped out some 18650 batts not too long ago in a small padded envelope and it was slightly too big to pass as regular mail so I had to ship it small parcel. That pretty much means that even if we do get these to Canada and then ship them out we're all going to have to pay $10+ for additional shipping ?

But that's not more than what we would normally pay to get our gear and juices shipped, so it's not really a surprise. What we could potentially save in shipping of the lot of batteries would offset the additional cost of shipping them within Canada. That's just my two cents of course.

I'll look into organizing it tonight when I get home if mindfield doesn't want to do it.

I'll be honest, if I don't have to, I'd rather not. My schedule is already pretty full between work, reviews, home, and certain other things I'm involved in. And I'd be paranoid about screwing something up, or miscalculating and being stuck with a big bill or something.

These would work in the Provari right? If so I'd totally be up for a Canadian co-op for around 10 as well :)

Yep, if you get the nipple-tops they'll work in the ProVari.

If so...

...then these aren't IMR, folks. IMR = LiMn (lithium manganese), which is safe-chemistry. Li-Ion on the other hand are not safe-chemistry. Personal safety, & knowing precisely what it is you're using, matters. My personal opinion is that there's really no reason to not use the safest batteries out there, i.e. the red AW IMR (lithium manganese) ones.

All the best to those considering the co-op, but I'd advise you all to be very careful about finding out whether these are actually Li-Ion, or LiMn. 'Cause there's a huge difference.

Happy vaping & vape proud!

Apparently these batteries are a hybrid:
"Panasonic has developed a new Solid Solution technology by mixing the high capacity characteristics of the Li-ion chemistry [cobalt based] cells, and high safety of the LiMn2O4 [manganese based] Lithium based batteries."

I'm pretty sure I recall reading a spec sheet from Panasonic that talked about a protection chip inside these bats. Also they can handle transients up to 10A. Get a half dozen and keep them charged in your glove box. If your bat goes dead, you could probably jump your car with a half dozen. (just kidding on the car jumping part)

This. I think everyone's aware of what they'd be buying.

Easiest but with the greatest risk.
Might be better to look at a co-op of the co-op. Have all Canadian orders shipped in one lot to someone in Canada via DHL/FedEx etc. Then mail out via CP from this ide of the border.

How is it risky? People ship li-ion batteries everyday (by the millions probably) in cell phones, laptops, flashlights, etc. Or do you mean with Customs or something??

I mean, think of the way all the US vendors ship to Canada, they certainly don't write "nicotine juice" on the declaration form. This stuff is common practice, what's different with batteries?

( gonna say sorry to start for this way off topic post but chelly's comment reminded me of this story )

I was trying to be smart because of the packing skillz of people at work and my discount using the companies shipping....

I brought in 6 pints I was sending to a friend in the states to say thanks for all the hard to get ones he sent me...

He never got them because he was sent a picture of the package with BEER in LARGE black marker all over the package.. shipping was worried about it getting broken.......

Oh, I mean CBSA is a bit iffy about things like that.
