Mindfield, I live super close to you, so I can just pick mine up from you in person and save you one shipment.

(I'll take 10 nipple tops)

Don't take this the wrong way KF, but Mindfield will need a record of everything he does....including being able to verify each parcel and where it was delivered.

So unless he already runs a business, Mindfield will have to issue you some kind of written receipt and/or agreement between you two.

Personally, I don't allow pick-ups cuz I no longer own a business.

Shipping the item virtually relieves you of the responsibility at that point Mindfield, assuming that you've packaged everything well and applied the correct postage?

Cuz you'll have your postage receipts and a record of who got what and where it went.

You've got to keep the "business" mindset when operating a Co-Op, because YOU'RE RESPONSIBLE...and not your clients!

Speaking of, what is the shelf life of these batteries?if I buy 10, that should last me for a very long time. Will unused batteries still be just as good a year from now? Lol

I don't really know to be honest, brand new tech....just hit the market!

But normally lithium-ion cells last about 10 years just sitting and collecting dust.

If you've used a cell, make sure it only has a 30-50% charge on it when you store it.

NEVER store a cell that's fully charged, you'll ruin it.

You're gonna have use boxes, envelopes are a BIG NO!

We're talking about lithium batteries people, and a lot of them, so unless you want significant damages to your cells....I highly suggest locating boxes and crapload of newspaper!

Crumpled newspaper is a great packing material and if you collect your old newspapers, it's cost effective.

You'll also need to order bubble-wrap for wrapping the cells and I can help you locate the same stuff I used....if you need help?

Mindfield, if you wanna take on this responsibility....send me a PM, then we're gonna have to get the okay from Joker before I start giving you advise.

Alright, I'll send you a PM shortly. I'm still at work so there's not much I can do at this specific moment but I might as well get things rolling.

I can easily source bubble wrap. My local dollar store carries sheets of the small bubble variety.

I would figure bubblewrapped cardboard envelopes would offer enough protection no?

I kind of would have thought so given that they're both cardboard and they'd be bubble-wrapped anyway. However if something like battery cases are required I may be able to get battery storage cases at the same dollar store I get the bubble wrap from.

I just got confirmation from one my of my Co-Op clients (this morning) that her box was, and I quote, "The box looked like it had been through a war zone but the contents are fine."

If that were an envelope, her $140 investment would have been a total loss.

Just sayin'....

Storage cases could get costly, but it's not a bad idea. :)

I'll have to check what sizes of case they have, or possibly what alternatives they have if they don't have anything of a decent size, but it shouldn't be too difficult I don't think.

Ebay has them too, pretty cheap I think?

18650 case | eBay

But you'll wanna talk with several vendors and war one against the other (in price) if you're gonna order a bulk lot.

Okay, trying to get this thing kickstarted. I've asked J0ker for his authorization, and if I get it, we'll move all CAnadian interest posts to the co-op interest thread (and ultimately to the actual co-op thread once it opens), so if I'm approved, for those who have expressed interest, you'll need to post again in the co-op interest thread after I post my announcement there.

Yes, a definite tip o' the hat to Mindfield for picking this up and running with it for us! I'm pretty sure I can speak for the lot of us Canadians when I say if there was anybody to be trusted with getting this co-op off the ground it would be Mindfield!

Excuse me?

What am I, chopped liver? :p

j0ker's given me the green light, just waiting for him to notify Shek and we're all set. I've got a spreadsheet ready to go where I'll keep track of who's interested and how many cells they want once I post in the interest thread. I'll link everyone up to my post in the other thread once I've made the announcement post for us Canucks.
