Yeah, being the V4L forum, I tend to assume we're talking about at least an 808 product, if not a V4L product.

A battery in a passthrough is just a silly notion. A regulator maybe, but unless the port can't deliver enough current and you're using it as a capacitor to even the current draw out... [shrug] There's a lot of inferior designs out there...

 I hope mine doesn't konk out that soon!

Do the superglue in the end trick now and you should have a long lasting passthrough. I've not heard much about problems out of them other than the cord coming loose from being moved around all the time. Also, remember to always unplug your passthrough when not attended.

Thanks for the tips, everybody! Especially the Super-Glue tip.

My two-month old PT is officially dead now. So I'll order another one and glue it when I first get it, I love using it so much.

It seems steep to have to order a new one every two months at $15 (plus shipping) since, as a USB device, I'd have thought it would last a long time. But I can see now (thanks to the comments) how the cord / internal connector might work loose on some of them.

Sorry I posted here but I am so desperate for PT advice I didnt see it was this forum. wont happen again.

I think some forum members have the forums set to just viewing new posts and they have no clue they are in the V4L subforum when they post here. It's rather distracting in some conversations.

Don't apologize Bellasin, it's easy to have this happen to anyone posting on these forums. And you are welcome to join in here anytime, we are all using a different type of passthrough and probably won't be much help with the one you are using in this instance, but maybe you want to consider getting one that doesn't have the battery issues that yours does. We have a cord issue going on with the Vapor King passthrough but the warranty is great and we are covered in the event of pooping out issues and it's being improved now, too.

Bellasin, I'm sorry I didn't mean to make you feel bad. It is a flaw with the forum designs that doesn't make it clear that we are in a subforum talking about a specific product from a specific supplier. I wish I could offer help or advise about the product you use but I've never used it.

Wow! 4 PTs in 3 months? Not sure what to say. Or DO.

Makes me wonder how many spares vapers have on hand. How many PTs? How many manual batteries?

Jeepers!

This was early when it was all new, and the batteries would last 2 hours if you were lucky. Quality control in China was pretty lax as one of the PT's wire wasn't even soldered. Since Steve sent the Enforcer over to China to get things done, I haven't had one complaint.

UPDATE: Ordered a new passthru to replace the one that died in 2 months, plus five blank carts. Order shipped Monday, arrived yesterday (2 days).

Steve threw in a free second passthru (in Blue, yet, which I'm kind of liking) plus three carts of new (to me) flavors -- which I'm also liking! (Cowboy, Cowboy Menthol, Kant).

I've tried Taryn's trick of SuperGluing the PTs at the wire connection, so I'm hoping they'll last longer that way.

No wonder everybody loves V4L! You simply can't beat their products, personal service, flavors, pricing and shipping.

(I ordered some juices and doublers from TastyVapors, which I also love -- except for the Mentholated Tobacco -- to add to my stash. V4L's menthols that I've tried are still the best, to me -- and I HATED menthol analogs. And V4L's Mint is outrageously good, as is their Pina Colada.)

THANKS, V4L! YOU'RE AMAZING!

Yaknow, I think that the 901 batt thread is the same as the KR808. I've heard of 901 users putting cartos on their batts. I would assume that it would work both ways.

I bought one of the new PTs that are built much better and IMHO a good investment even for a 901 user. They might even throw in a carto or 2 to get you hooked.

Totally OT Nice to see ya back Taryn.
