I just got an email from a vender that I regularly use saying they can no longer accept payment through paypal because buying vaping supplies goes against paypal policy. What the hell is this about. Anyone else get anything similar from there venders and is this another government plan to screw the little guy. Here is the email I got.

(I removed the venders name to comply with ECF rules)

[h=1]Paypal is no more...[/h]
[h=3]We no longer use Paypal and wanted you to know.[/h]
Recently we were contacted by Paypal to discontinue using their service to process credit cards online. The sale of Electronic Cigarettes and ecig related items is against their Usage Agreement. We wanted our customers to know (especially those who prefer paypal) about the change. We enjoyed using Paypal and their services. However, this is the decision of Paypal and all we can do is comply.
[h=2]What does this mean for you?[/h] We still accept all major credit cards and recently have added the acceptance of American Express. For a brief period we were unable to accept AMEX cards, but that has been corrected.
We currently accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover and American Express.

ack, I'd find an alternative asap and send a scathing letter to Paypal. In fact I'll be doing it today even though it hasn't impacted me yet.

An alternative is not the issue I will continue to use them. I've used them for a long time and built a very good relationship with them. The issue is our rights to freely purchase goods are slowly being taken away when it comes to vaping and it pisses me off. Paypal is an ebay company and I don't see ebay discontinuing the sale of vaping supplys so what the hell is going on here.

Below quoted from HERE
Consider the question was asked by an UK/EU citizen.

"There had always been some question in mind for me about paypal and buying and selling of e-cigs. I had heard stories of them closing peoples accounts for using paypal to buy or sell them and as I have been doing research about opening a shop, I decided to get a real response from the company, instead of just asking around...the following is the response that I got when I asked the rules about it so now that one is put to rest for me, and I thought that others may benefit from this as well...enjoy Wink"

"
Thank you for contacting PayPal regarding your business venture.

Mr. Taylor, we appreciate your interest in our services and can confirm
that as long as you yourself are based in the EU, this is not a problem
and we will be more than happy to have you as a customer.

As a regulated industry, there are certain rules we ourselves are
required to adhere to and these differ depending on which country our
merchants operate from.

With regards to E cigarettes, at present our policy does not accept E
cigarette merchants from USA, Brazil or Canada.

Please note that this is subject to change as is the current policy
concerning the EU merchants.

At present as long as you are not operating from those above 3
countries, we have absolutely no problem having you on board and value
you as a future customer.

We look forward to working with you soon and wish you good luck and
success in your business venture.

Sincerely,

Louis.

PayPal, Brand Risk Management "

Cheers

it's unfortunate, but I don't think it's anything new,,,,,,,,,,

hence the reason you're not SUPPOSED to be able to buy anything e-cig related from EBAY.

It's your RIGHT to buy e-cig stuff,,,,,,,,,,but if Paypal doesn't want you to use their service to pay for it, there's nothing you can do. Their service,,,,,,,,,their rules.

Get a credit/debit card,,,,,,,,,,IMHO, it's safer anyway,,,,,,,

if you buy from a vendor and dont' get your product, you can fight it with the credit card,,,,,,,good luck fighting it with Paypal if it's an e-cig related item. You lose.

I have credit cards and although this will not effect my purchases it's just another example of opposition that vapers have to face.

Paypal hasn't been willing to do business with e-cig vendors for a very long time. You couldn't use paypal when I started vaping back in 2011.

That has been standard Paypal & Ebay policy since I started vaping for the US and then Canada. Don't know when they added Brazil to their list...

I closed my Paypal account because of their policy of prohibiting vaping purchases. Really haven't missed it at all. It's a company that is free to make any policies it likes and I'm free to not pay for their services if I disagree with and do not support those policies. If I was forced by the government to use the company's services, it would be an infringement of rights.

I believe in only supporting companies that want to do business with me so am continually confused why vapers want to support a company that works against US & Canadian vapers. We also have issues with some CC processing companies, but the way stores are structured, it does make it difficult to determine which store uses a processor that is anti-vaping. At least Paypal processing is clearly marked.

I believe that e-Bay has had a Policy of Not Allowing Consumable Tobacco Products to be Auctioned or Sold for a long time.

I have noticed that they have relaxed their Policy on Vaping related items like Cartos, Clearos and PV's.

Hi Danny, in Canada vendors don't use Paypal or any CC. I found that out when I switched from analog to e-cig a year ago. At first I thought the online store was a scam, but in actual fact all online Canadian vendor stores were the same. It is a pain in the bu**, but then I learn other methods like Money E-tranfser, same convenience.

that is US policy not really paypal, I use paypal a lot when ordering from fasttech

NO that is Definitely a PAYPAL POLICY - They would rather bend to the will of ANTZ than accept doing LEGAL business with US Citizens.
E-cigs products have never been and are not now Federally Regulated in the US and it is legal to sell/purchase.:glare:

Try this one out - I have a PayPal Debit card and can purchase E-cig/Vaping supplies at Any US vender that accepts MC/Debit:D

PayPals own work around to their idiotic stance.

Sorry to hear that danny, I always use Paypal when the vendor accepts it. Haven't had that trouble so far, Yet.
I know Wizard Labs accepts it.And I just bought a MVP v2 on ebay recently.

Russ.

It's no reflection on the vender and I will continue to use them. It's just paypal I'm mad at. This type of garbage put's undue hardship and loss on these venders for nothing more then bending to unreasonable political and antaganistic pressure.

If you are US... I always tell people if they wanna use paypal, get yourself a paypal debit card.. Its a mastercard. I always use it when buying my vaping stuff. So this way anyone that doesnt wanna accept paypal, you can use paypal funds still to make your purchases. This is the loophole for alot of the stuff people buy when it comes to companies that dont use paypal.

Yep I have one of those but I hate having to wait for my money to show up in my paypal account everytime I do a transfer from my bank. Just easier to click the paypal button. If I find a sale and don't have the funds in the account by the time the funds are transfered the sale is over. I just assume use my credit card and screw paypal.
