Paypal and E-cigs

just want to know why others ask not to mention e-cigs upon purchasing a product via paypal?

According to their policy, electronic cigarettes fall under prescription drugs and therefore are not allowed.

It's a pain in the .... but you do have to respect a Corp that puts their ideology (regardless of how f'd up it is) ahead of profit.

I have never done ebay and since they are owned by them, I have never had a reason to use them.

I used to use them for other stuff. Then I heard many, many horror stories and stopped.

If kind of ironic that Paypal, which is own by ebay, won't allow using their service for paying for ecig stuff yet I've seen ecig starter kits on ebay. Sounds like a contradiction in policy to me.

I recently ordered stuff from china using PayPal and it shows up on the electronic receipt as e-cig stuff. Maybe it only applies to US PayPal?

Possibly, but the invoice clearly shows the items on the PayPal receipt. Eh! As long as it works, who am I to complain.

As a note on how the Ask The Vets section works.

A question is submitted and it is moved to a secret location that only vets can see. Vets answer the question and the result is then transferred to the Ask The Vets section. Due to the nature of the concept of Ask The Vets, you have to allow time for a mod to get it up in the special section, time for vets to respond, and time for a mod to move it back to the correct sub-forum.

This is the place for a new member to ask any question and get a quick response. There are no vets hanging out here though...j/k.

Correct that it's a US thing. Liberty Flights, and Totally Wicked, as UK-based companies, are able to use Paypal. US-based companies, however, can't.

Basically PP is trying to avoid getting US antis going after them, so they've prohibited US-only ecig-related transactions. A US seller can get their PP account locked if they are caught doing ecig transactions. I'm not sure if the same applies to buyers in US-only transactions, but it's best not to push it.

Thanks for the clarification, I vaguely knew that people could get their Paypal accounts yanked for mentioning e-cigs, I didn't know it applied to US vendors or sellers only. US customers can safely use Paypal to overseas vendors?

I believe so. When people ask for vendors accepting PP, are pointed to LF, TW, or other international vendors, I haven't heard of anything bad happening. I've used PP for TW a few times recently, no problem.

Funny. when I was smoking I bought my cig rolling machine on ebay. Paypal had no problem with that.
