I'm new to all this as well, but having spent a lot of time on this board researching, I have to say that by-and-large the people here seem to be helpful, pleasant, and enthusiastic. As for people who gripe, it's part of life. I run a business and there's always going to be a few wherever you go. Sometimes it's legitimate and sometimes not....you just have to do your own research and try and make educated decisions.

AND, please keep in mind that, when YOU ask for opinions, you're getting just that..OPINIONS. If you decide on something because someone recommended it and don't like it, don't blame the messenger.

On the other hand, it's a great idea to ask opinions..you'll end up with MAYBE 3 or 4 models that CONTINUALLY pop up and you can make your own decision from there. Better to have to choose from 3 or 4 than 10-15!

ECF will always TRY to help.

When I came here (after seeing smokingeverywhere advertised on TV in Las Vegas while on holiday) I was recommended a 510 or KR8 - I went with 510 and have never regretted it. I still use it today :) There's usually a reason a few models are 'most popular' - Im pretty sure I would have been happy with either choice btw, as they were almost equally recommended.
Most of the really bad gripe posts tend to be about 'other models' failings - although the 2 I mentioned have their issues at times, its tends to be more of a 'am I doing this right' or 'is this right' thing imo.
ECF certainly kept me away from buying the super expensive crap I might have gone for otherwise!
:)

I spent a bunch of money on an NJoy NPro before I found this place.
And I spent a lot more for it than I needed to.
That is my only gripe.

It wasn't working for me, so I found this place, and got my 510 model.

But it really wasn't a bad electronic cigarette.
It was actually that I couldn't get the automatic battery to work consistently.
And that the stupid cutoff kept kicking in before I could get a decent drag.

It wasn't so much that I needed a 510, but moreso that I needed a manual battery.
And at the time, the 510 was the only model that came with one.

But the RN4081 (which is what the NJoy NPro uses) is actually a great little atomizer.
And now that you can get manual batteries for them, I'm sure they are just fine.

I was at a Smoke Depot buying my analogs when I saw the Vapure advertised on the front door of the store. $100 is a lot of money to throw away on yet another quit-smoking remedy that doesn't work. I went home and googled electronic cigarettes and found ECF. As a Guest, I spent hours reading posts. Thanks to all the reviews, I bought my first e-cig -- the Joye510 and have never looked back. I think if people did their own research first, no matter how long it takes, there wouldn't be so many disappointments and bashing of companies. Welcome to ECF, you're at the right place, and happy vaping. :)

not to mention the fact that alot of us are trying to quit analogs...and that alone is a frusterating thing to do in itself...to add to a disappointment, its understandable. just gotta take it all with a grain of salt. just like volkswagon bugs break down on the side of the road...which believe me EVERY BUG BREAKS DOWN...doesn't mean the company is bad. maybe ya got a bad cart, atty, carto...battery...these things happen...just gotta do your research and keep an open mind. if ya didnt' have an open mind to begin with...ya probably wouldn't have tried a PV to start with.

I spent a lot of time on this site researching e-cigs, brands, ingredients, methods, health effects, etc. before I went out and bought my first e-cig. This is by far my 'go to' site for info and feedback. Truthfully, this is one of the most respectful forums I have come across.

I completely agree with DC2 on the manual battery, I just got a 510 (due to wife washing batt in the laundry) after four months of smoking an auto batt (Pure Smoke) and am finding my vaping is much more satisfactory than before.

Just received some aqueous glycerine from Totally Wicked today, and I must say that it is crucial in increasing vapor production for DIY liquids. The PEG-400 polyethelene glycol mixes WAY better than normal PG with their Platinum Ice as well. I'm so pleased I just had to share.

Most importantly, this site is up-to-date with information regarding potential legislation against e-cigs. Visit often.

Welcome and happy vaping.

I admittedly didn't do enough research before I bought my first e-cig and it was a piece of crap (Health-E-Cigarette). I chalked that up to my own inexperience and said nothing at the time. Now that I know a thing or two, If I deal with a vender that I think is treating people unfairly I will politely contact them a few times to give them a chance to set it right. If they refuse or are condensending or dismissive toward me, it's on! I'm posting my experience all over this forum. There are too many GOOD venders out there for crappy ones to be getting away with that sh**. This has only happened once and when I started posting I found other people had had the same problem with these guys (a supposedly respected ECF approved, registered supplier). Nobody came to their defense either, I might add.
I don't think there's anything wrong with trying to prevent other people from having to go through the same grief you went through. It's a service. If the venders don't like it, screw 'em. They should treat people better.

Oh yeah, to balance out my rant, I should say that the venders that have gone out of their way to treat me well get as much praise as I can give them. That's just as important.
My favorite venders are Myfreedomsmokes, Madvapes, Ikenvape and Perfumer's apprentice. Those are the ones I can think of right now.

Glad to hear everyones start ups... I to got hit hard from Smokingeverywhere but once I started looking on the web I found many places to get kits cheaper. Some of those ended up being rip offs also but there are those types of people everywhere you go. You just gotta do your research and use you head...lol
I just invested in a mod that has a lot of controversy to it but I have to check it out. I have read a lot of pros and cons about it. The Juice Box.... we'll see what happens...

OK, imagine this is a forum for people who love cars and noobs keep joining and saying, "Is it just me, or are cars really over-rated! I just bought a LE CAR, and......."

Of course we're going to bash LE CAR! (especially if, not only are they junk, but no parts are available for them and they cost $60K)

Mine wasn't junk and didn't cost near that much. Dang, I loved that car.
Getting parts was a pain but, the gas mileage was awesome and ran great. I did have a friend that could do basic maintenance for me. Le Car by Renault. LOL Brings back memories.

I have to say my e cig experience has been very positive. When I decided to try one I started looking on line and got overwelmed very fast. Then I was speaking to a friend of mine and she told me her mom was smoking a firelight micro from e cigarettes national. They are about 2 hours from me so I thought if I had a problem I could go see them in person lol. I'm not very trusting of online purchases. Well, I ordered the kit for 55 dollars and a 50ml bottle of liquid for 30.00. Still not expecting to be impressed. I'm pleased to say I love my firelight micro. My only complaint was having to refill the cartridges so often. At home I don't mind, but when I'm out it can be a pain.
I found this forum when I was looking for juices because where I got my e cig from doesn't have much of a selection. AFter reading good things about the kr808 I ordered a kit from Jane at ecsiinc.com because I've been ordering her kick juice and really like it. I paid 30.00 for my kit from her. I wanted the 808 so I could use the cartomizers and wouldn't have to refill as often. I honestly enjoy the taste from a regular cartridge better, but I like the 808 with the cartomizers when I'm away from home. I use both my e cigs daily and both of these models have kept me analog free. I've also ventured out and tried liquid from several of the suppliers that are mentioned here and have not had a bad experience with any of my choices. Some I like better than others but everyone has their favorites. I really appreciate all the great advice and information on this forum.
