Kyi,
I was expecting to have heard from you by now about this, but I'll try to clear things up a little. Like Ms T said above, there is nothing even remotely close to pepper in her ingredients. Therefore, there is another root cause for what you are experiencing. Often issues can be hardware related. If you are using and old or dirty atomizer, well, I think that's pretty self explanatory. If you are going to say that in fact you were using brand new cartos or something, then instead of it being hardware or juice related, the issue then transfers to being a personal experience on your side. The forums are dotted with posts about flavor being "subjective". This is very true and dramatically affects how different people will experience different flavors. The reasons for this subjectivity are widely varied as well.
As Kat77 implied, it could be simply a matter of taste buds. It's pretty easy to damage one's taste buds with hot coffee, melted cheese, etc. It is also possible for different things to affect how they actually do the tasting. Ever drink a glass of orange juice right after drinking milk? I don't recommend it. Also check out something called a "miracle berry" (Synsepalum dulcificum). This has a unique effect that causes anything you eat after it (including bitter and sour foods) to taste very sweet. There are probably dozens of ways other foods or things you put into your mouth can change how you taste.
Taste buds can also be affected by one's own health conditions. Even a cold or allergies (which are running rampant across the country right now) can make a big difference in what we taste. If one has recently switched from cigarettes to
vaping (or uses cigs and e-cigs concurently), this will also make an enormous difference in e-juice flavor experiences. Many of us have found that out.
OK, so let's say your hardware is new and clean, you've never been sick a day in your life, and allergies are not an issue. You never drink milk and OJ together, and melty, bubbly cheese isn't your bag. Here is something else very common that people perceive in their juices: If you are used juices from another vendor, they may be using a different ratio of VG and PG in their base mixture. Ms T's juices have more VG than PG, and VG does in fact have a distinctive flavor. I have always experienced PG to have more of a bitter flavor personally, and when I have tried PG based liquids after being used to mostly VG, I can most definitely taste the difference. If you have gone from from juice with NO PG whatsoever to Ms T's juice, maybe you are tasting the PG. If you are coming from a juice that is PG based, then it is more likely the VG you are tasting. I know that "peppery" is only an estimation of the flavor because if you were to actually use jalapeno, cayenne or even black pepper in your atty, I'm sure you would notice a huge difference. I believe that you are using the term "peppery" to describe a flavor that is different than what you are used to, but can't quite put your finger on. Some places DO actually use small amounts of pepper, alcohol, etc to increase throat hit. MS T DOES NOT DO THIS. As it is stated on our site and all over this forum, she uses VG/PG, food flavorings (same flavorings as most other companies, just mixed in her special recipes), and nic (if requested). Nothing else. No oils, no pepper, no water, no unpronounceable chemicals. So, there aren't many things that could contribute to the taste you are getting. If it isn't the flavorings or the VG/PG, maybe adjusting your nic level would help. I think some people also perceive the effect of nicotine on taste buds as a "flavor", where it may be more correctly described as a feeling. Regardless of the cause, what you will find is if you stick to Ms T's juices, this difference you taste will eventually go away, and when you try a juice from your previous supplier, it will taste weird to you as well.
