Perfume taste need help... please

Hello all, I've been attempting DIY and a few of my flavors are great no problems. Lately though a few flavors have a perfume taste to them, I'm using flavor west concentrates 70/30 mix 8mg nic I'm using MVP 2.0 energy series evod atty and mini protank 2 and protank 2 all tanks same result so I believe that means it's juice itself. I've steeped for approx. 2 weeks and still no better. So can I add more pg or vg to correct this or need more steep time? Please any thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Tired of vaping Chanel #5:(

Usually when I use too much flavor I get muted flavor, but I'm sure it depends on the flavoring you use. Since you said some of the flavors taste fine, you most likely can rule out the VG and PG. Certainly you could add more PG or VG to lower the flavor concentration. You can use one of the e-juice calculators (there are several) to figure out how much to add relative to what % you want to lower the flavoring to. Hope this helps a little.....:)

I don't think the problem is with your equipment. What percentage of flavorings are you using? I find that I prefer to go even lower than what is recommended to start out with and have been please. Another reason why I start out with a small 10ml bottle tester and keep notes on everything I add. Good luck to you. I'm sure someone that knows alot more than me will help you. That is what is so wonderful about ecf. I just mainly wanted to welcome you to ecf. Lots of good DIY threads on here. Good luck to ya and happy mixing. :)

The good news is...you are not alone. Last month I mixed TFA 555DK at 5% in a 50/50-1.2%nic base and found ti to taste like dollar store deodorant. I asked for help: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...entice-flavoring-thread-214.html#post12628709

I diluted the mix by 50% and still, same terrible taste and smell.

Seeing your post tonight, I dug that old mix out and tried it again. (By now, it has steeped almost a month.)

The bad news...It still is just as terrible... So, I do not use that flavoring in anything yet...

Short of throwing this in the toilet, I would like to add something to remove/cover this "whang".

I'll be watching this thread.

Hope you didn't mix up a big batch of it...

You could try adding some AP, EM, Peach, Chocolate, Caramel, Black Cherry, or Vanilla, to try and save it.

TFA Tobacco is not to good I hear.

Rumor has it that:
Better is Hangsen
Best is Inawera

I tried some Parliament from VZ, and I love it.

Still trying to get the percents right on Hangsen RY1, Real Cig VZ, and Virginia Flue Cured VZ.

I'm going to try Inawera next...

Thank you all very much. Let's see, where to start the flavor is flavor west strawberry and vaporshots vanilla cream for a strawberry and cream 11% strawberry ad 4-6% vanilla cream I also have this issue with cheesecake by flavorwest bt the funny thing is it's good after 4 days or so steep time to much more steeping it starts getting that perfume taste. I also add 1-2 drops FW sweetener if that helps/hurts/ LOL
Rowdyplace I'm still hoping that one of these days I'll try it and it will be the best ever just not yet.
I also bought premade totally wicked american red tobacco not DIY and it was horrible day 1 and 2 months later still horrible. That's just M.O
Thank you all again I will try the tops off and see if that improve the taste. I will let you all know

Sounds like you are close, but overshooting. (Also sounds like you are mixing in a high VG base.)

Under my picture is the line, "Blog Entries:" and just to the right of that is a "3". Click that 3 and then the blog about Flavoring Levels. Scroll down to the item line preceded by the number 7. The wording inside the parentheses will sound very familiar to the part I quote above. You can read the whole thing if you want, but level 7 is particularly applicable to you at this moment.
