I am having a terrible time getting my TPA flavors right. The smell is there but the taste is either mostly non-existent, perfumey, or just way off. What the heck am I doing wrong? I've tried 5%, 10%, 15%. Nothing tastes right to me. I so wanted Peach, Blackberry & Cola. The cola was not bad, kind of bubbly flavored but weak. The blackberry was way off taste, & the peach was awful (now drain fluid). I need some help!!!

You didn't mention which peach you tried. I don't care for the regular peach but TPA Juicy Peach tastes like biting into a fresh, ripe, juicy peach. I've made it for several friends and they love it too. The same can be said of Linda's Strawberry. It is sweet and juicy tasting but also has a nuance of that area around the cap of the berry. You can taste the sum of the whole on these two.....at least IMO. YMMV Keep trying.

I bought the regular peach flavor based on the description on the site. This is a true and tasty peach; try it at 10% but some people who want stronger flavors might like it better at 15-20% - but there are customers who prefer it much lower, like 5%. Note: although this flavor has a very solid "fan base" - it seems that this is one of those flavors that some people don't like. If it tastes "artificial" then try it at a lower percentage. I must be part of the second group, not the fan base...so sad :(

Just can't get it to taste anything but weird/perfumey/yucky. I've tried adding lemon juice, EM, & in desperation added Bav Cream to try & mellow/soften the chemically taste. NADA...drain fluid. Like you said, "fresh, ripe, juicy peach", that's what I'm looking for. Because so much has been said about "overflavoring" wrecking a mix, I tried to keep it lower & increased to 10% for my last juice that was nasty.

The cola did turn out pretty well though. In 3 ml less the initial test amount (a bit weak), I upped the cola by 3% to 13%, added 2 drops of lemon juice & a drop of EM. It's sparkly & I love sparkly/bright for a day vape. So I'm almost where I want to be with it.

:glare: Hmmm.....Now that I have my cola mix about where I want it, I wonder what it would taste like if I added a little peach. Just a thought ;)

Sound like you got caught up in marketing . TPA does that a lot with bad flavorings .

For sale Turds . Fresh and tasty ,perfectly blended .this is a top seller and customers have been raving about it everywhere . Get it before it sells out .

Description sounds good but in reality its still turds .lol . Companies really hypeup the bad .It is a business and they need to sell products to keep it going . Id like to know where the big fan base of the bad are . Then when everyone complains about the bad they come out with a extra and say a few people were asking for another version of this so we are keeping the old one for the existing fan base and creating a new one for people who would like something different meanwhile the old one never had a fan base and people complained about it so they had to come out with a new one .

There is three caramels and double chocolates with tpa. Probably half her flavors had to be reworked from reading the descriptions on there and reading the wayback gen. Just marketing like any other company. Cant always read into advertising . SOme companies even pay people to give positive reviews on products .

This is just fictional speculation of course and a bit exaggerated in parts but it makes sense matching reviews to descriptions .

Oh Str, you really are bad :)
I shall not be discouraged. My Capella order should be here in a few days.

I still have 4 more TPA flavors that I ordered to try out.
TPA's Double Chocolate & Almond Amaretto are good though. I had success with them. There is a batch steeping now. My 24 hour test was very good, but lacking depth. Hopefully steeping will give it the finish.

The TPA Cola mix I made up is very nice, almost exactly where I want it. I'm vaping it now, but have noticed that I need to keep it topped off to keep the sparkly part of the flavor up.

I'm sure I'll eventually get the hang of DIYing. If I can cook & bake, I can DIY. I've flopped food & I'll flop juice. :D

Just going overboard with a extreme fictional marketing scenerio on how companies advertise lol .95% fiction 5% opinion . Opinion being the first line . I have a weird sense of humor. I just finished watching that movie on advertising which i thought was pretty funny .

I like the TPA double chocolate . That was my fav goto chocolate before getting my capellas chocolates . I add cap vanilla custard to it though to get the creamyness and body up . I like a few tpa but not many . I really like TPA popcorn, red hots and pomegrante since those im not really needing the body and richness .

When you get the capellas though you will be hooked on diying . Its very hard to make a bad finished juice with capellas and theres none that are just straight out bad . SOunds like you are doing everything right mixing wise .

(There are a number of Capella flavors i thin are crap, i wonder if i should go on a jaunty campaign against the company every chance i get?)

Just for the record, I agree with you, and one of them is a flavor I've seen you list as tasty :)

In case I'm one of those you've aimed this toward....I don't in any way want to be perceived as being on a campaign against the company (tpa). I realize I'm a noob, but I've read the older threads and can see from the start that Linda has done a lot for the community at large. There are many that love tpa...many can do lots of nifty stuff with it. I, however am not one of them.

I spent a lot of time and money on tpa flavors mainly because I didn't realize there was an alternative, and it's the no.1 discussed flavoring company on this board, and for the same reasons many new to diy will do the same. In my experience however, after much trial and error I cannot stand all but a few of the flavs! I was so excited to find a good one that I bought a 30ml bottle of tpa redhots (very yummy!) only to realize I don't want to vape redhots much...
Peppermint? love it. Unfortunately though I love a bit of mint now and again I lean toward fruit/bakery flavors.
There are a few more, but for the most part, to my palette I get perfume/chemicals.

I have a lot of respect for the diehard tpa fans, but when those of us that cannot use them step up and try to give noobs with our same experience hope that there is diy outside of tpa we're not attacking you personally, or tpa for that matter, just trying to offer an alternative and give hope to those that might otherwise give up :(

Most of my diy is using TPA. I also have some Capella, Lorann, Flavourart, and Flavorwest, but much more TPA than anything else. I am more into fruit flavors. I sold most of my Cap to str8 because they just weren't to my taste. I really like Cap sweet strawberry, sweet tangerine, NY cheesecake, cinn danish swirl, but that's about it. I have lots of flavors from TPA that I prefer. I absolutely love their hypno, champagne, and mtn dew, couldn't live without them. TPA cinnamon and cinnamon red hots is great to add a few drops to many fruits, especially TPA pear.

IMHO, some of the comments have been rather severe, bordering on rude. It's fine to share an opinion, but I'm having a problem with all this "flavor bashing". I know we all have our favorites, and we all have different tastes, just like in foods. There isn't just one way to do things. Can't we all just get along, just like our flavors do? This is my "Libra" coming out, I like harmony in all things.

...In case I'm one of those you've aimed this toward....

Not aimed at a person so much is it is aimed at a behavior. Giving "props" to a vendor or company does not have to come at the expense of another. There are flavorings from all the companies I've tried that I just cannot get to work for me, I just do not like them.

There is a huge difference in my mind from, "If it's not from Scottland it's CRAP!", to "Have you tried the Scotch instead of the bourbon?". I'm seeing more of the, "If it's not from Scottland it's CRAP!" version on this sub than the other. I think it just leads to bickering and people picking sides and I really don't want this sub to go down that slope.

The issue we all have is that we have a wide range of tastes in here, but for the most part, we get along and can help each other. I think too much negativity turns off those who are just starting and there are enough things to overcome when starting DIY already. That negative vibe also comes across with absolute statements which usually don't pop up here too often.

Now, with that said, what flavor do I like that you don't? I'm always curious as to what flavors folks like, don't like, and the elements of the one they do like that the other does not have.

Full disclosure-I'm not vaping any TPA flavors today. I'm trying to clear out some of my experimental tasting backlog and it's a bit odd tasting here right now.

Did you use cola or cola syrup?
The cola did turn out pretty well though. In 3 ml less the initial test amount (a bit weak), I upped the cola by 3% to 13%, added 2 drops of lemon juice & a drop of EM. It's sparkly & I love sparkly/bright for a day vape. So I'm almost where I want to be with it.
