Pet owners: do you vape indoors?

Someone on another forum suggested I was a terrible person for vaping indoors when I have cats, I was stunned by this as I haven't read any studies proving second-hand vaping is dangerous or an issue at all. I love my cats more than anything and would never do anything that would harm them and it's not like I'm a bad influence on them and they might pick up a vaping habit anytime soon...

You guys with pets, do you vape indoors? Have you ever had to defend that decision to anyone?

tell the other people that they are terrible person cause they vape next to human being if thats the case. If vaping isn't harmful to you or the next person i would think it wouldn't haven any affect on pets either.

Hey catcult! I have both a dog & cat & I do vape in doors. They go for regular checkups and just had their last ones in march. They both got a clean bill of health. I talked to my vet about it & she said it was fine. Just make sure you keep any juice stored away where they can't get to it. This was the thing she told me to make sure of. I've always kept everything in a container locked away so it hasn't been an issue. Don't let your friends get to you. Your kitty's should be fine!!

Yeah, of course I make sure to store the juice in a place they can't open and I'm very careful when I refill. I think the problem is that people actually think e-cigarettes are exactly like regular cigarettes only synthetic and therefore they must be even more harmful.

I was working outside bent over a while back and one of my yard dogs was pestering me so I blew a small cloud of butterscotch in his face so he would leave alone. Now everytime I go outside he gets in my face and looks at my shirt pocket until I blow him a cloud. He is a large 80 pound cow dog and now he wants his own eGo C but that ain't happening!

Well he enjoys my vape but his other hobby is licking his .... so I wouldn't put too much stock in his opinion.

The issue with cats and vaping is that if they ingest a large amount of PG it is bad for them. See here for the low down.

In a nutshell, if your cat drinks juice it will be bad. If your cat vapes, it's all good

This affects no other animals.

My cat hated when I smoked the ciggys. She didn't like the smoke & would go into the other room. Now if I'm vaping in the same room she stays put! I thought it was funny! But I felt so bad after I quit smoking. As my sense of smell started to come back I realized that they smelled like an ashtray! I made them both appointments for the groomers immediately!! If I got to smell good they did too!!

I vape inside with my pets all the time. It is my house after all.

All kidding aside, I highly recommend any members of this forum take some time to peruse the CASAA website and hopefully join. They have loads of useful information including scientific studies concerning indoor vapor tests, air quality and also information on bills being enacted (and ways to fight them) that affect all of us as vapers.

Outside of taking common sense safety precautions such as securing caps and storing e-liquids out of the reach of pets all of the information that Ive viewed over the years leads me to believe that the risk of vaping to pets is so minimal at worst as to be practically non-existent.

My cats enjoy playing in the vapor that I exhale, unless its anything remotely grape. They hate all grape substances for what ever reason.

2 cats and a bunny and i vape around them all the time not to mention the wife so far no issues and i've been blowing vapor
in the house for like 4 years now

my cat's just glad he quit smoking. vaping doesn't seem to bother him and it's got to be better then all that second hand smoke he was exposed to for the last 10 years

I vape indoors, and I don't find it a problem at all. It seems to me it wouldn't be any different than a regular vaporizer with a kick Obviously they are not educated about ecigs--maybe you could educate them

I vape indoors, no cigs have EVER been smoked in this house. Just bought it off an old couple (non smokers) in January, they built it.

I crack windows open in spring, summer and fall anyways. We have blue spruce trees and hedges all over. Like the smell of fresh air.

My cats can't stand the vapor if they're actually in the cloud. Perhaps it's because that vapor used to be smoke. But either way I don't think I'm harming them at all as long as I'm not blowing right at them. Studies show little to no air pollution, even in a small room, resulting from second hand vapor.

I have vaped around my dogs with no problem and my horse appears to really like the smell of the vapor, especially menthol, but she
loves peppermints so this makes sense.
