Interesting. The person is claiming that E-cigs were responsible for thier cancer. I find it interesting that the article starts out saying they smoked 50+ years before switching.

Dave, I swear I once read somewhere that there was a higher incidence of cancer in ex-smokers than in current smokers or something like that. Something about a tie between how quickly people who quit smoking get the cancer. If you are of the school of thought that some people are more likely to get lung cancer no matter what, it could be that the smoking actually holds OFF the cancer from growing in them. I wish I could remember where I saw that....

Christine, I think that was from a gov report, 2001-2002 timeframe. As I recall, it was something like 20% of lung cancer from non-smokers, 20% from current smokers and 60% from ex-smokers. There was also a breakdown of % of people in each category. I seem to remember that something like 40% were in each of the non-smoking and ex-smoking categories.

I'll have to see if I can find that study.
